I’ve recently switched from cotton balls/cotton pads to reusable bamboo-made pads for makeup removal, toner, etc. You just throw them in the washing machine in a little bag. Love them!!! Lmao oh lord the first time i used a diva cup, it got sucked up all the way up into my cervix. I could not got get it out for the life of me. I ended up having to literally fist myself, squat down like I’m about to give birth to the fucking thing, and yank it out because the suction would not let go. It was very painful. It took like a full hour of me crying and getting blood everywhere. Worst experience of my life lol.
The diva cup is literally my best friend. It's super convenient and easy to use (once you get the hang of it). It saves me money and it's the best for the environment. Definitely give it a go,you won't regret it
never been a tampon girl but i've switched to biodegradable pads recently and that's been a great switch (they're made of all natural fibres so it's super comfortable on the skin)!!! Diva cup was not recommended by my gynaecologist for me and quite frankly i was wayyy to scared to try it🤣😔but i have heard of many great experiences with the diva cup (or any menstural cup for that matter)!!

i use a diva cup and i love it! it took a few periods for me to get used to taking it out/inserting it! that is really the only part of it that can be difficult at first. I highly recommend it! But if you have acrylic nails often there are other period cups that are easier to remove

I've been using the Diva Cup for about a year and a half now and there is no way I could ever go back!! it's amazinggg, I have a moderate flow but within a period I used to use a whole pack of pads sometimes more... and now I only use liners on my heavier days just for peace of mind. its actually much more hygienic a long with the fact that its a money saver and super eco friendly
I love the diva cup, definitely give it a try! It’s not any harder than using a tampon in my opinion and you can leave it in for way longer. I save so much money not buying pads/tampons every month and it’s definitely a more sustainable choice. It might be a little tricky at first with your nails but you’ll figure it out with practice!
Paige! I thought I had a really heavy period too but it's so deceiving with tampons. My best friend told me about the cups and I was hesitant at first lol but now I love it and a huge advocate for it! I use the Dutchess cup. It comes in a pack of 2. Got it on Amazon. Best decision I ever made! You literally need to put it in in the morning. Check it around 6pm (make sure you're in a house to do this not a public restroom) then one more time before you go to bed and repeat until your period is over. And there's soooo many videos on youtube to help educate on how to use it.
I can't use tampons for medical reasons, and the possibility of toxic shock syndrome always scared me. I turned to menstrual cups because they're safer and reusable. There's little to no risk of TSS. I clean it with water between uses (or you can buy a menstrual cup cleanser) and boil it after my period cycle. They can last 2 years, depending on wear and how well you care for them, so you're saving money big time. You can't always predict when your period comes, so I do carry a pad around just in case. If it gets stuck in your cervix, just push down on your pelvic muscles, like you're trying to pee (do this in a squat position), and the cup should move downward and make it easier to pinch to remove. Once you get the hang of it, you won't look back on tampons.
The diva cup is quite daunting but much more efficient. Like you, I have a heavy flow but when I looked at the cup after sleeping with it, there was only a third in there (I thought I would have a full cup). The scariest thing for me was the fear of losing the cup in my body (I know it’s ridiculous). It’s been 3 months now and I’m still adjusting.
I use the saalt cup. I love it. It has definitely cut my days down and it’s not as heavy. You don’t feel it once it’s in. You just have to get used it in the beginning but you’ll get after a couple times.

I would say yeah, try bringing your own bowls. You might have to be a little pushy but it's New York, no one's going to go home crying. And there are some really dope takeout containers that are completely eco-friendly
Yees i def recommend using the diva cup or what ever you called it, it's called "meno-cup" in Denmark, but its super comfortable and nice, and it actually sometimes makes me forget that i even have my period in the moment :)
Diva cup is great because in addition to being eco-friendly, you never have to worry about bringing extras places like with tampons. The reusable aspect is so convenient :)
I dont like the DivaCup specifically for the reason that I have nails like yours. The thing you had was a disk so its a little different than a cup but even though the cup has a little tab you cant really pull on it becasue of the suction. It's more there for a guide so you can feel you way to the bottom of the cup and then you have to pinch the actual cup to release the suction. The pinching and then grabbing the cup to pull out is REALLY hard to do if you have nails. Plus if I couldn't get the cup to sit right I would have a horrible pain that kind of felt like a UTI. If you're looking for more sustainanble period prodcts I use the Lola brand organic cotton tampons! They do have a plastic applicator but there are so many plastic free tampon options all over Amazon!
I use the mooncup and honestly it’s a game changer. It takes some getting used to but after I found the right folding technique I could do it in my sleep. The best thing is that you could leave it in for the entire day although I like to empty it in the middle of the day in the first days were it’s heavier.
I use a menstrual cup and it's honestly amazing! Once it's in you dont feel it and can completely forget about your period for the whole day. They hold a lot as well, mine never leaks but I do have quite a light period in general, hope it works for you💕💕

I don’t know much about the diva cup this idea of it kinda scares me. I’ve never used a tampon but when I used to have periods I used to use pads. I started the mini pill (not the combined) about a year ago and have had about 4 light periods since. Maybe that could help if you’re flow is heavy or extremely painful ❤️
Hi I’m a little late but I saw an ad for a brand called flex and they have different sizes based on your flow. I haven’t tried it but it had good reviews and a variety of types. Just a suggestion :)
I switched from pads to menstruation underwear, so its just a normal underpants that holds in all the blood. I use two of them over the day bc I do bleed a lot, but they can be worn up to 12h and hold like 3 middle sized tampons. Really like them, super comfy, super easy to wear and to clean, super good for the environment. 🩸🍓☀️🥳

Oh, the only thing is that long fingernails and Diva Cup don’t really go together. I mean, the little tail helps a lot, but still, you’ll have to get used to your menstrual cup and they’re not the most practical thing for that!
