    The spot to the left of the castle would be a great place for a park with large, brick-built trees. There's usually a park like that near a castle, helps decorate the area.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I'd love to be good at brick built trees. I had thought that would be built up though as I have a green area in front of Major Oak Hill and a full park near the Town Hall. I'm also considering more fountains!

    Your videos are so soothing and inspiring. I'm from Florida and working on an old Florida town, making realistic mocs from sets like the shrimp shack. When I get tired and frustrated, watching you do things like this for a bit cheers me right back up!

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, I get hot and frustrated too. I'm glad I'm a calming influence. Of course you only see the last 25% of the process when all the wrinkles have already been ironed out!

    Another great build. Think that shop row area of your city is my favourite. Agree with others, the overhanging tiles really help emphasise the cut away. There must be some strange wind blowing in Brick Nottingham though! Another video idea: one where you move around showing all the little tweaks and added details to existing builds either from yourself or viewer suggestions.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. That area, with a row of buildings behind and the subway underneath, does look good.
      Hopefully the whole city will look that good soon. It's a good advert for using different layers.
      I was also thinking of a mix video of lots of little bits but wasn't sure if it'd work. Maybe!

    Excellent amendments as usual. The overhanging kerb works very well to hide the baseplate groove 👍
    Much better with a couple more studs' depth to the shop. At first I thought the Yeti looked ridiculous but having been reminded of the mahoooosive donut at the other end of the run, I think they both provide excellent "bookends" for the row 😃

    I think two of the large rock pieces would look good on either side of the yeti, perhaps topped with more snow as well! Also the flags are going the opposite direction of the flags on the donut shop

    👍 It might look even better with the winter-sports shop next to the bike-shop and the row of identical buildings (pet-shop, lego-shop and TV-shop) next to each other on the other side of the river trend, in stead of separating the identical buildings by the river...? Just a thought...

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did that to break it up, otherwise it might look a bit samey. Also the escaping snake is more visible as it is. Also the monorail tram system might clash with a taller building. Thanks for the suggestion though. It's good to challenge stuff!

  • @619egghead

    Hi Robin! Great job once again. I really like the overhanging of the tiles, it really sort of rounds it out, so well done! I actually like the winter sport shop as a set iself for a lot of the individual pieces. But then whenI thought about placing it in any city other than a mountain sight, I couldn't think of how to use is. But your use of it is really well done.
    And yes, finally an Octan truck! I so much like that color scheme! It reminds me of one of the earlier sets I got as a kid, the original Octan truck, 6594, so I liked this truck from the get go on. Are you planning a gasstation?

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do have a Gas Station planned. It is an Octan version of a really old one and will be across a road plate. I know some people won't like it as it'll be part of the road system, as opposed to being off to the side, but I just want to fit as much in as possible!
