Hi Natalya, I'm not sure if I understand the question correctly. Do you mean whether authors such as Agatha Christie will help with modern English? I think there is value in reading books from a variety of authors and it's important to find books/authors you enjoy and will keep you reading.

There is another meaning of RUN as a verb, that is TO MANAGE. Ex. This company is run by a competent manager.
