I had a grand plan last June to backpack around the Fannichs starting at Lochluichart and finishing at Achnasheen (taking in Fionn Bheinn as well). I walked along the private road to Loch Fannich and climbed up beside a stream to a small col below An Coileachan (about 550 m asl). The weather quickly deteriorated as I pitched camp and I had a sleepless night being battered by wind and rain. Next morning , the wind was near gale force and it was a challenge to stay standing up in the gusts, so I decided quickly there was no way I am going up onto the ridge in these conditions, so bailed out and walked back to Lochluichart (by a small mercy with the wind behind). When I got back to Inverness I found I was missing a short tent pole, so had to source a replacement from a gear shop.
Awesome. I absolutely love these videos 👍
