    I love this serum, been using for 1 week and my skin is so smooth and plump, and it does help boost other serums works better that you apply after this serum. I only got the 30ml version to try, very impressed with the results and will repurchased a bigger bottle.

    I like this one a lot! 😊 Just ordered a back up bottle, because I use this twice a day along with my peptide serums ...and essences. My skin looks plump and healthy, but I do use vitamin C in the morning and retinal in the evening as well as peptides twice a day. Just turned 50, so my skin can use the extra assistance and T.L.C.

    Love this review, Kelly, thank you! For my purposes, I actually like that this is a lower-potency booster product, as I really just wanted something to mix right into my toner step for supplemental support rather than adding another high-octane formula to what I've already got going on. You sold me!

    Would you consider Jumiso’s Snail Mucin 95 + Peptide Facial Essence a similar product? In Jumiso’s I feel the snail mucin has it’s own benefits and the 5 peptides (Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7) are a bonus.

    Came across this at Marshalls, and have been using this twice a day. just recently got into skin care (I'm a guy) and like the Korean products, I have had to learn about all these different products and how they are used, it was very alien to me, I was your typical wash my face with soap and shave type.
    Anyway this product seems to go a long way, I use it twice a day, on face and neck, for over a month, and still have 80% of the bottle full. no shine or stickiness which is what I look for.
    Wash > Toner > this product > than serum (C for day, retinol/squalane at night) >sunscreen (morning) I alternate with tretinoin, derma needles once a week, and LED face mask, about 4 days a week. I have had improvement specially in texture and smoothness, I have acne scars from decades past, they seem to be getting better as well. tone is more even as well.

    Hi Kelly, I love your detailed review of this product. Your choice of descriptive words enables viewers to understand how
    the product feels on the skin, and thereby make a choice whether the product is suitable for their skin type and their skin concern.
    I would also love to see in future videos that a few similar products (maybe 3) can be done together in the same review. For example, in this skin booster review, Torriden booster can be done together so that viewers have a good understanding which product is for their skin type. I think it would really be interesting. However, I still love your review in this video. It helped me made my choice on my "skincare wish list". Thank you!

    I’m so glad you brought up the issue w peptide concentrations in this review, also thanks for the breakdown of these specific peptides.
    So many products now have a few peptides listed at the bottom of the inci. My skincare skeptic says that is more for the purpose of marketing and internet searches than efficacy. Are peptides (generically) the new hyaluronic acid? It also seems their acceptance as a must have ingredients is probably ahead of any independent evidence. Doesn’t mean the claims are false but I do wonder how much some of the results people get is due to their hydrating properties rather than collagen building, especially the plumping effect.
    However, my skincare skeptic isn’t in charge of my skincare purchases 🙄. I do use a dedicated peptide product am and pm. I use the timeless CoQ10 serum with matryxl 3000 (the OG) in the morning. In its faq, they say the matryxl is used in the manufactured recommended concentration range. I’ve recently purchased Stratia’s Interface. I trust that brand to us ingredients within recommended concentrations. I’ve been using Acures radically rejuvinating night cream after my retinoid. They don’t disclose percentages but the list of peptides (which are identical to drunk elephants protini) are in the middle of the inci.
    Like @lilm1018, I’d be very interested in learning more about the specific peptides, their recommended concentrations and if there is any research beyond what the manufacturer or skincare company releases. Also multi-peptide products that could stand alone for anti-aging.
    Very useful review on this. I’m not going to replace any of my peptide products with this but I may give it a try in the summer as a hydrating toner/essence (with possible additional benefits).

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Peptides are usually used in concentrations lower than 1%, so they often appear near the bottom of the inci regardless. Of course, there are exceptions, but peptides are actually effective at low concentrations, and depending on the formulation and how the peptides are delivered into the skin, a very low % can show good benefits. So it's less important to know the % of individual ingredients and more important to get an understanding of the overall formula, especially when more than one peptide is being used.

  • @metaaa99
    @metaaa99 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Kelly, maybe you could try to use it as a first essence rather than a first step-serum? It's how I have been using it based on my understanding (though not sure if I'm using it correctly haha), the benefits it gave me is helping my hydrating toner dive more deeply and also significantly cleared up my texture in less than a month! (I'm also on tretinoin) Though I don't know if layering it on first before toners would make a difference.

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess it depends on the texture of your toner and how your skin absorbs the product, but I think it might be a touch thick as a first step before toner. But if it feels good, do it that way; it won't affect the benefits one way or the other. Just depends on your products and how your skin soaks it up!

    • @juhnetmickerdy
      @juhnetmickerdy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cosrx says to use it after cleansing on dry skin, let it absorb and then move on 👍

    • @naxp42
      @naxp42 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been using it as my "toner" step on dry skin after cleansing (I have combo acne prone skin and my steps are double cleanse, toner (thinner, more for hydration), essence (thicker, optional, more for moisture if skin needs it), barrier support serum of some kind, treatment serum of some kind (higher concentration active, usually retinal), and moisturizer).
      This is my first time using peptides in my routine, and I have noticed a big difference in my texture (skin is much smoother) and elasticity (skin has way more bounce)), in just a few days!
      What I like about it:
      - good for peptide beginners and for oilier skin, versatile and fits easily into am or pm routine
      - gives you ability to combine peptides with other actives as opposed to many peptide products where you can't use them with retinol for example

    Kelly I would love if you could talk about the concentration when we discuss peptide products. I've used this product a couple times and I like it, but I wonder if the amount/% of peptides in it are even in the efficacious range to act as a "booster". If it had other extracts or actives I'd be okay with a mild peptide cocktail, because there is other support, but because its sells peptides, I question the amount.

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Peptides are usually used in less than 1% in all formulas, so it's hard to talk about percentages/concentrations when it's so low and the info is usually not publicized. That being said, that low amount doesn't mean they aren't effective; they do work at very low concentrations. But due to the price and amount of product, you can make an educated guess that it's not going to be as concentrated as a similarly costing product at, say, 30ml vs the 150ml cosrx has.

    I feel like the obvious solution to the limitations of this product being less concentrated is to layer it to achieve a more effective dosage. If it's half as concentrated as other products but you do 2 layers that should accomplish similar results. And it seems to be decently hydrating and not too heavy.
    So how do you feel it would be if you did multiple layers in terms of comfort and elegance?

    I was curious about this one verses the minimalist for affordable peptides.
    But like other ingredients just having some but not within the therapeutic % means it isn’t an effective purchase.
    Not a lot of peptide proven amount besides the matrixyl grouping being 7-10% range.
    Those with this have peptides within the top 4 ingredients including the base.
    Without a significant amount then at best it might be hydrating (although no better than glycerin since both normally have hyaluronic acid).

Ordinary products doesn't suits me. Is klairs youth activating drops is better than this. Or any other products u have in ur mind. I want to fix saggines near nose area and no wrinkles at all. Kelly i love u alot. Im waiting for ur reply. Lots of love and blessings and hugs for u. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ From Pakistan

      Are you using retinoids? Those would be the very best for firming the skin. Peptides help but they aren't the best single ingredient for your concerns. A good retinoid product is the first step, along with daily sunscreen. You can add a peptide to your routine after that. I prefer copper peptides like from NIOD or Peach and Lily.

      Peptides are a huge class of ingredients that do a lot of different things, so I'm unsure what result you're looking to achieve. I'd suggest starting with my Peptide 4 Ways video to learn about different types of peptides th-cam.com/video/AfHfkomk5TQ/w-d-xo.html
      I also did a this or that between a few anti-aging type of peptide products: th-cam.com/video/NrE2qC6AUEE/w-d-xo.html
      And if you're into the science of peptides you can check out my podcast episode about peptides:

    Does it actually help to absorb other serums that you piut after? I wish you did a video on how to increase absorbtion of the producs:)

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It can help! Ideal absorption mainly comes down to layering on damp skin and ordering products from thinnest to thickest texture. these concepts are covered in this short th-cam.com/users/shorts_saWQST8Mdc

    I just wished more products wouldn’t use hyaluronic acid. For some reason my face skin hates it. I become read, itchy and it looks like eczema. I gotta be really careful with my skincare. So far so good, but too bad I gotta skip this one!

    I was so excited when this came out but once I saw the size....my thoughts completely changed. This product makes no sense to me. It's such a large bottle so the percentage of peptides in this is probably little to none. It seems like an unnecessary product. If you want peptides this isn't it. Also soy breaks me out so bad 😢

    • @ainakunigelyte

      I feel similar to all k beauty peptides, it is just - which has a decent or better percentage than the ordinary buffet or matrixyl serum.. Then I soo want to try something else but just none of k bauuty beats it..

    • @rhileynnna
      @rhileynnna ปีที่แล้ว +30

      I wouldn’t say just because the product is a large bottle that means the amount of peptides is minimal. Also peptides don’t need to be an extremely high percentage in order for them to be beneficial. Take copper peptides for example, the prime percentage is about 1%.

    • @ainakunigelyte
      @ainakunigelyte ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@rhileynnna I don't know any k beauty peptide serum that would have a decent percentage of peptides or actually even anything - do you have any favorites from k beauty that would compare percentage wise to the ordinary? :)

      @@ainakunigelyte I do believe Depology is a Korean brand they have a peptide and Matrixyl serums. The peptide I'll pass on because I think it has lavender oil. Some of their products look good but their on the expensive side. I do like the ordinary multi peptide plus hyaluronic acid serum and Timeless Coenzyme q10 and Matrixyl Synthe 6 serums. I absolutely love the textures of the Timeless serums.

      @@ainakunigelyte on the top of my head, purito centella unscented serum? I’m not sure the percentage but it’s packed full of peptides.
      I’m not super into peptides anyway, not really a star ingredient for me yet. I feel like there’s atleast one peptides is everything these days.
      It would also depend on what you’re looking for. There are an overwhelming amount of peptides out there that all serve a different purpose.
