Carly Rae Jepsen - Psychedelic Switch (Rockwood Music Hall, NYC 8/7/23)

- Carly Rae Jepsen managed to play a delirious amount of show in NYC in the span of a little over a day. She had sold out two nights at the rooftop at Pier 17. On night one, a few songs in thunder and lighting came sparking across the skies and unfortunately the show had to be cancelled just 5 songs into the set. I left the show drenched and drove back home. By the time I got home, my friend was already texting me that a makeup show was being held at Rockwood Music Hall. I let out a sigh, and turned my car around back into the city. The line wrapped down a few blocks. The way it was handled was that Carly was shuffling in batches of fans for a few songs at a time before cycling in a new batch of fans (who had tickets for the pier 17 show). Luckily my friend Carlo, Joe, and I were able to get in for the last group of the night right around 12AM midnight. It was a trip!
Then for the next day, it was announced a matinee afternoon show would be held as a makeup show for the cancelled show, in addition to the already happening night two show. While I couldn't make it to the afternoon show, I did meet up again for the night show, making it 3 CRJ shows in the span of about 27 hours for me. It really goes to show the amount of love she has for her fans and how hard she's willing to work for us. Honestly I don't know how she had the energy to perform that many times in such a short span, but damn does she love us NYC fans.

This had to be EPIC to experience! I almost made it to that concert but couldn't go at the last minute 😭 So happy Carly does shit like this to show her appreciation for her fans. I'm a Jepsie for life!
Yeah I was the last round of people that got in and it was maybe midnight or later. I left the pier 17 concert soaking wet, got home, and got the text to go back out to line up with my friends. It was wildd
@@IronChefWong.mp4 That's so cool. I mean it was in the middle of August so I would've welcomed a rain storm over the heat. Seems like it turned out for the best because she played a make up show too, right? This intimate concert was probably the only time you want to be near the back of the line so you can be a part of the group that hears the best songs at the end. Was the place close to Pier 17?
@@ChironXVX it was somewhat close. Yeah she did an early afternoon makeup show. I wasn't able to make that because of work but I did make it to the next days show. It had to be cancelled because of lightning, rain alone would have been fine. It's crazy she played 4 shows in almost 24 hours.
@@IronChefWong.mp4 See that's the work ethic she shares with other successful artists (Taylor Swift, Beyonce, etc.) that I admire but she doesn't even get 10% of the love they do. She is just criminally underrated. That's okay though we can just enjoy more of her for ourselves and never have to worry about Ticketmaster shutting down on us lol
