Golden retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds in America and they make great service dogs. In fact many dogs from rescues from German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, Boxers, Mix Breeds and Golden Retrievers make great service dogs. Not all dogs pass the service dog training and test. But that is no problem because dogs, like people are good at different things. Did you know that some dogs that don't pass certain service dog qualifications still go on to make great animals in service. For example if a service dog doesn't pass a test as a search and rescue dog because they just want to lay around and cuddle and hug they could be a great service dog at a hospital. Hospital service dogs often go around and meet people in the hospital that just need some love. I was in the hospital once and a Labrador Retriever came in, hoped on my bed and snuggled with me. I felt better immediately.
In addition to providing emotional support, golden retrievers can also help people with disabilities who need assistance getting up from their chair or lifting heavy objects. They provide independence and freedom for those that need it.
Nala the service dog is instrumental in helping her Mom with daily task or getting to do things like go to Disney World. Without Nala the Golden Retriever service dog her mom wouldn't be able to go. Have you ever asked yourself Are Dogs Allowed at Disney World? Many people have and while you can't bring your dog there anytime you want service dogs are allowed at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida.
Golden Retrievers are often used in the Military as guide dogs for the blind and more but the training process isn't easy and it takes months before they are ready.What's Different From Therapy Animals? All dogs are wonderful but therapy animals often have a temperament that uniquely qualifies them to be a therapy dog. May therapy dogs seem to have a higher level of emotional intelligence and can pick up cues from their human on what they need. Golden Retrievers are often driven by a desire for praise and affection which makes them uniquely qualified as a service dog.
Golden Retrievers are friendly, intelligent, gentle dogs that make good companions. Many dogs have these attributes including mixed breed dogs. One of the best ways to get to know a dog is fostering. May dog rescues and dog shelters have foster programs and wether you are looking to adopt a dog or just help in dog rescue fostering saves lives and is a great way to get to know a dog. If you are looking to adopt fostering a dog gives you both time to see if it's a good fit and if it's not you will be able to help share the details with the rescue of what energy level the dog is so they can be paired with the right family.

I love Nala's face. To me it doesn't seem like she's thinking they're like big living toys, but something more along the lines of "It's Donald! It's the real Donald! OMG you're my favourite actor, I've watched all your movies! You can't convince me he's not the real Donald Duck!"
She can sense how stress the characters are and is giving them comfort.
Nala performs a needed service...a moment of release for the cast members who love on her is very calming. As long as she knows it's her job, she's doing what she's been trained to do. I've seen a service dog for passengers at an airport...it was special to have the dog comfort me in the moment. 😊

Nala is so adorable and so good with the characters. As someone with emotional illness, I have wanted a service pet for therapy purposes, but I know full well that it's also a big responsibility that I don't see myself committing to. That makes me sad.

My daughter now 18, is Autistic. When we first took her to Disney World when she was five, we made special accommodations for our visit at Disney Guest Services through her developmental pediatrician and therapists because of her sensory issues and people gave us dirty looks because she “looks normal”. They were verbally abusive to us not having to stand in long lines, etc. Hoping you and your bestie have many more magical 💫 adventures!!

What disabilities does she have? I have invisible disabilities too. Service dogs work harder than people. Service dogs are working 24/7 365. I'm sure this is a much needed fun time for nala.

If your service dog is a service dog, then treat it as such. It doesn't need to come into physical contact with characters. 🙄

second off, i've seen that in 99% of the videos the characters actually want to pet the dog and coo at it. they encourage the animal to go on em. it's not the owners fault. it is a service dog, and it's allowed. cry about it i guess?

Wait wait wait... So this a self trained dog? After I saw the whole thing i realized this is not a professionally trained dog.. No seeing eye dog would be so friendly with anyone whilst on the job.. So she trained the dog herself.. for what exactly? Just to be good and emotional support? Where is this a medical necessity? The dogs cute AF but i cant agree with random "mental support dogs" roaming around Disney because that opens it up for ANY dog and then you have poop and pee and bites because people will lie about the credentials...
the dog won't get in lol. if it's acting off and barking, pooping everywhere, biting, etc, it WILL NOT get in. disney is very strict. also- you're allowed to self train a service dog. you don't know her disability, and she doesn't have to tell you it either.

it could be; fainting disorder, panic attacks, seizures, tourettes, ptsd, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, autism, low blood sugar, high, etc.
