Just got a metal up grade kit from Ricky’s Rc for my 1/16 remo hobby! This upgrade should improve stability and overall handling! Good stuff Dan! 👊🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i enjoyed the video very intresting. i got my first one coming at 53 years old. lol .stil got the kid in me. when i was young in school we use to take model cars and put motors on each side of the rear end then run wires off the back and hook them to a big battery .of course you had to run behind it lol but hey we had fun .that was long time ago
@@Van_City yeah that's my thought as well Dan. I love the 903A. I'm going to put this upgrade kit on the 16890 and swap the oil filled shocks from the 16889 to it since I busted a shock on the 16890.
I just got mine in the mail today though mine is for the 1:16 scale and it doesn't' come with instructions and and it is far from a complete kit so it's clearly an ebay HBX knockoff special. Mine comes with no tie rods/turn buckles and the steering kit I'm not sure how it is installed. Mine does come with A-arms but the single rod/brace in the rear it doesn't come with so I'll have aluminum on the bottom and a plastic support still on the top. LOL
Nice upgrades, wish they offered upgraded metal shock towers. My son broke his in two months, can only find plastic replacements for my 1/12 HAIBOXING RC
my hbx 16890 steering is weird and even with metal servo and smaller tires. If you give it too much slack the right wheel woobles a lot and if you tight it the servo is not strong enough to win the plastic friction and the steering binds one way and the other...a metal upgrade would solve that?
Metal upgrades may help with this issue. It’s odd that you are having this issue I’ve owned several HBX models and haven’t had issues like you describe with the factory plastic parts
@@Van_City i've read about many with this issue. You don't realize it when bashing but if you just drive in a straight line in 20 meters of tarmac you notice it. Only the gyro i have in mine corrects it but its annoying
Hello Dan! how did you install the pins on the machined mettal diff outrdrived cups? i try to upgrad on metal diff but i dont have the place to put the pins in the metal cups . im fr sorry for my bad english lvl ^^
@Van_City No, from Germany. But thanks for the Link. They are sending it to Germany too. I tried to find it on our Amazon, but there it was sold out too.
I reviewed it about this time last year th-cam.com/video/pOCySJ6iJFE/w-d-xo.html If you chew out the links in the video description you can get some more info th-cam.com/video/pOCySJ6iJFE/w-d-xo.html

Thanks, much respect for the guys who build models. I never had the patience for it.
Appreciate you stopping by 👍💯
Looks like some great upgrades excellent how to video
Thanks appreciate it. 👍💯💥
How funny I just ordered this upgrade kit from eBay yesterday. LOL I wish they made an upgrade kit for the 903a.
I’m sure they will have a similar kit for their 1:12 lineup at some point. Only makes sense as people are asking for it

Would it be possible to put these upgrades on the hbx 18859E?
Yes this kit will work with the 18859E
Would this fit the Deerc 300e??
Parts of it might be compatible, I don’t own the 300e anymore or I’d be able to let you know for sure
Would this fit on a 1/18 riaario ?
I don’t believe so. This kit is Haiboxing specific for their newer 1/18 models
Thank you so much the gear puller link was essential! Subbed and will be here for future videos🎉
Also, I had to slightly sand down the metal ball cups in the arms to slide into the new hubs. Couldn't fit otherwise and gave me a headache at first.
Interesting must’ve been slightly off sized from the factory. Glad you sorted it out 👍
Cheers 🍻 it’s sure a handy tool
Looks like some decent metal upgrades, easy install. Good job Dan 💯👍🍻
Thanks Dave, yeah this kit looks good 👍

Sounds like your kit could’ve used a few more pieces to make it complete.
@@Van_City most definitely Dan
If those linkages are anything like the ones I installed for my WLTOYS a959b, you will need to put threadlocker on them to keep your setup.
I was thinking the same thing 👍

Yeah it would be nice if offered upgraded shock tower. Not sure why they don’t, I’ll mention it the rep

The metal upgrades are junk the parts are just are way off. Shocks are good
how are they off?
Hold up. The small electric tool you used to remove the screw... what was that? That was pretty small. Great video.
That screwdriver I reviewed about this time last year.
th-cam.com/video/pOCySJ6iJFE/w-d-xo.html
Why don't they make a kit like this for the 18990
Not sure, they are very responsive on Facebook I’d put the question out to them
Can we get a video out swapping the hailstorm to a better receiver/ transmitter?. I love my hailstorm but I don't love the transmitter it came with.
I’ll see what I can do during the Christmas holidays
@@Van_City thank you

Very cool upgrade how to Dan!!!
Thanks Brad appreciate it 👍💯
Why can’t they make 1:10 scale truck😢
I’d like to see a 1:10 HBX too
Is there any option to get these Shocks? I searched the whole Internet and everywhere they are sold out and no Notice, when they are available.
Are you from the States? I’d so Amazon has them amzn.to/3GLR2Rc
