Thank you for the enjoyable, streamlined, clear and proffesional video!
Peeking at your bgg collection -
It seems as if you had enough with this game.
    1.
Wasn't you satisfied with the replay value, or were those the mechanics or the gameplay..?
    2.
Exactly the same question for - Zombiecide: Black Plague.. (?)
    3.
What other games in THIS genre blew your mind lately (which aren't Solomon Kane)..?
    Many thanks!

Mmm... Well, I must admit thay I thought and I hoped that your icons gestures to my massage were only a step before kindly responding...
      Should I feel insulted..? 👀

You bet! Thanks for the kind words Louis.
Darkest Night was fun but ultimately didn’t stand the test of time. Black Plague is one of the best versions of Zombicide but I can only store some much Zombicide stuff so I had to let that one go to make room for newer iterations. Currently have 2nd Edition, Invader and Night of the Living Dead. As for new games recently, Nemesis Lockdown, Roll Player Adventures is way up there.

      @@RollingSolo Oh wow,
      That's a ton(!) of Zombicide...
      Thank you,
      I appreciate the response.

24:42 Seems kind of unbalanced to be able to suddenly send and receive items in the monastery when you’re in the middle of combat. I might change it to a house rule to make my character go back to retrieve what they need. Love this video btw. This just arrived in the mail for me today and I’m so excited to play!

the rules don´t say that you can use it if you are in different location. It is connected with the sentence before, the idea is continuing.. So the rule is: whether you are in the same location with other heroes, you can use their items. BUT, each item (artifact) can be used only once per round! You can not use item with two different heroes in one round (not turn of each heroe). That only means that you don´t have to spend action to postpone items among heroes, you can use it immediately if you are together. And the Monastery is till considered to be one of the locations, but has ability to store items there. Because normaly you are not allowed to store your item f.e. in Ruins. If you want to leave the item somewhere, you need to die there or you have to deliver it to Monastery to other heroe could take it. Or you have to give to to other heroe when you meet in the same lcation of course. So if you are in Monastery and there is stored item and you have blight in Monastery you want to fight against, you can use this item stored here. The same example, but you are in Monastery with other heroe. You can use his item as well. But if you store the item in the Monastery and there is no fight and you want to use it for fight in f.e.Forest, you have to go to Monastery to withdraw the item first and then go back to Forest and fight. The rule says only that in case that in the Monastery are any blight, and there are also stored some items, and you want or need to fight, you can use them immediately, because they are currently stored here. I hope I explained it clearly.. In some ways rules could use more examples..

Did I miss it? When you exhaust one of your special character ability cards how do you ready it again?

Hey! Some abilities allow you to ready then again if I remember correctly. It’s been a bit ;)

Hello Adam, I saw all of your videos relating to DN. Thank you for that, it was useful to see examples of play. Sometimes it is not clear what exactly do and even if it hasn´t answered everything, it is great to see it. I responded to some topics based on my experiences and yes, I bought the game based on your gameplay. I really like it. It is very nice game. I played first game with undivided maps deck and it was very tough. I have only one question. Can you attack blight in Monastery? I would say: why not. But then you are not forced to do nothing else. You don´t have to care about the wordl outside. F.e. you can place two or three of your heroes to Monastery and just let them fight and prey, you don´t have to deal with event cards, Necromancer and others. I don´t know whether there could be even yellow blight, I have there only blue ones. So you can only fight against the one which will be added to the Monastery each round and search regions and find clues only with one or two heroeses. Maybe you just have to deal with the red ones or avoid to end your turn in region with yellow blights, but for gaining clues or upgrading heroes outside the Monastery this is very easy way how to solve it. I am a little bit disapointed with this possibility and hope that the game will force me to leave the Monastery in the future. What do you think?

Good question! It’s been a bit for me but I don’t see why not. That’s certainly not the official ruling but it’s supposed to be a safe haven. BGG may have this answered in the forums possibly. I”m curious now too!

@@RollingSolo ok, I have played a few games and I can not confirm that this tactic is realy useful. You suffer by going or searching in regions where is a lot of blights. Some cards or especialy Druid has ability to resist blights effects, but only the blue ones. You still suffer the red and yellow ones. So you definitely need to clean the board by someone. And that is the point. You should choose your team carefuly. You need someone for searching, another one for cleaning, others for support and so on. But if you play with other guys there could be problem. At this weekend I played for Mesmer and Tinker and it was horrible. All I did was only to travel somewhere, send someone somewhere, refresh Secrecy to other heroes and sometimes Search. It is all only one time rolls, sometimes even without roll, just to use the action and that is all. Then I had to wait for guys who played f.e. for Ranger who was still rolling and reroling dice, using a lot of power cards, connected effects, sparks and so on.. The game was very boring for my heroes. The others still attacked the blights and finaly slayed the Necromancer. They had much more fun than me.
Anyway we played with rule: The pall of suffering and Increased quests, but it didn´t prevent him from slaying before 16 round. He had a lot of blight on the board but we hide someone in Monastery and forced him to go to location with minimum blights where we were able to slay him immediately.
I have to say it is very nice game, I like it. But some things (rules) are strange. Maybe I will try to win the game only by collection of holy relics..

Always loved playing this game Solo. The theme may look very familiar at first glance, but the premise and accompanying gameplay is different. Because the players are essentially running a last desperate insurgency against the Necromantic forces which have already won.
Having the added stealth considerations in the game mechanics gives it some extra flavor. Especially when you start incorporating moves to decoy or lead the Necromancer to, or away, from specific areas and characters as part of your strategy.
All the different character classes, and their associated skill cards, are another huge plus. Each one definitely has it's own flavor. I didn't pick up the 2nd Edition simply because I own all the 1st edition and, thus far, it has more of them.

This is a perfect one for solo play imo. Especially with the number of characters you can control and it still be contained. Ah yes, the first edition would be perfectly fine!
