for these experiences (research, work, volunteer etc), do they all come from the 3 years of med school prior to residency application? I don't know how people have more than 4 work/job experiences. I'm also curious how to differentiate research vs. publication/presentations/abstract. Thanks for the easy breakdown! I'm actually interested in pursuing IM

Hey Prerak, I recall that you want to go into IM. Do you want to subspecialize too?

    Great video,
Is it possible to match into internal medicine without electives and if possible with telerotation?
    I’m from India.
    Please let me know

Do those work and research experiences just include those done during medical school?

You haven't showed data on averages among people who matched vs those that did not. For example, in IM, data on average publications among people who matched vs those that didn't showed that those that matched had slightly fewer publications than those that didn't, however the difference in means was not statistically significant, meaning that number of publications didn't make a difference in selection for IM . However, neurosurgery and plastic surgery residents who matched had significantly higher number of publications than their counterparts.

What the hell is 11 volunteering experiences ? If you volunteer at the same place regularly throughout your med school years then how does that translate into a number of volunteering “experiences”
