I just love how Deacon sometimes comments on a headshot kill saying things like "bam" or "nice, headshot" which is not mentioned in this video or the other one but it's still pretty cool. Well, I also like how he randomly says things about deers crossing the road, nearby cougars, bears, wolves, screamers and breakers, group of Marauders (for example) killing Freakers, enemy patrols, various "events" you encounter as you roam around the world and plenty of other things. I'd say this game is about at same level of detail with Red Dead Redemption 2 in some ways
Fair enough! I get that suppressed weapons annoy me in most games where they are completely silent! But just found the game really repetitive and a little boring, never really hooked me in! Shame as for the first 5 hours I did love it!

i like them. i was hiding in a bush one time, planning how to take a zone they were occupaing and 2 freakers entered the camp....i just fallowed them:) looting the corpses, easy :)

One really cool detail I realized while playing last night - The finger movements by the guy playing guitar in Lost Lake is accurate for the chords of each song.
As an addition to the dumpster, if you hide in a bush, animals have actual searching animations and Ai. I've only seen it with wolves, but they start sniffing around where they lost Deacon and they actually search for the path, where he walked and slowly close in on his position, if they find it. If not, they run away after sniffing around for a while. The details in this game are amazing.
I hope they make a movie or tv miniseries about this game. I thought it was one of the best written videogames in a long time, with wonderful character development and plot twists and turns that keep you engrossed all the way to the unforgettable ending. It almost feels like a spiritual successor to The Last of Us.

The sound design is amazing in his game, one of my favourite addition being the noise created when your bike rides over wooden bridges. It recreated the sound perfectly👌

Unfortunately thats not the case on the enemies, the mixing of the sounds is bad, sometimes you can hear a freaker like if he was next to you but the freaker is about 20 meters away. So the distancing of the sound is bad. I hoped they fixed that in a patch but they didn't.
Those is one of the most detailed games to be released on the PS4. I'm about 2/3 of the way through on my NG+ play through and I still sometimes just sit there, parked and just stare at how sharp everything looks, from his clothes to his weapons and hours bike. The level of fine detail is just amazing!
BOY AM I GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS GAME. i've been stretching it out trying to do as many other activities as i could before i finished the story which i just finished today after about 60 hours of play. The last time i got lost in a game the way i have with days gone was.... i don't even know, maybe the last of us... i literally love days gone more than horizon zero dawn, god of war and uncharted. The only game that i have in the same category would be the last of us. I always wished the last of us had way more RPG elements in an open world. Ive seen several critics say that if thats what you were hoping with the last of us, then you will be disappointed... i am absolutely not disappointed and in fact the game turned out better than i thought it'd be even before the ridiculous review scores.
Also forgot to mention how awesome this video is, 60 hours played and there are so many things on this list I havent noticed or experienced myself yet. I have yet to be captured by raiders, I actually have never hidden from animals in trash bins, and actually only hid from freakers once in my first 2 hours of play. I'm actually curious now what a horde would do if u jump into a trash container. Would they just pile on and claw at it?? Cause clearly they're incapable of opening anything that cant be opened with forward motion force. I have noticed how shots landing on targets are so accurate, they damage the point of impact probably with the most realism that I've seen. None of these spectacular details were highlighted by the witch hunting critics... but they sure pointed out every little thing they thought was bad about the game. I actually feel sorry for those people because they missed out on one of the best games of our generation, and they actually played the game ostensibly. I honestly dont understand how anyone who loves action video games wouldn't love this game, and pointing out all of these details just makes it even more egregious that people really dont think this game is GREAT. not just that people think it's a bad game, it's crazy to me people dont think this is a great game. Thanks to this creator for highlighting some of the spectacular work Bend Studios put into this game that may have been overlooked.
I'm glad you made both of these videos. I absolutely love this game, and I think it's worth mentioning that the enemies/animals you kill stay on the map for a considerable time after they're dead (hordes being the exception). I killed some runners and three hours later their corpses were still on the road, and I was all over since I first killed them. Also, I'm 90% sure that Leon's body is still on that ridge- I just did one of Cope's last missions towards the end of the game and there's a body that's been gnawed down to a bloody skeleton.
The most fun I've had gaming in long time. Especially considering it's open world, I was worried about the grind factor. After 3 weeks, and finishing the story finally (but not all hordes), I never felt that way. Also, never had a game put me so on edge and tense that when I finally got to save I legit put the controller down and had a been n a smoke
I love this game. It was the three parts I enjoy about a game: story, environment and music. It also leaves room for a sequel which is nice too. I saw Gab Smolders play this on her let's play a while back and within 5 minutes of watching her play I was like "I'm getting this". Every time I play it always feels like a new experience. Nice job on the details. 👍

Dustin Farnum Too bad it have too many bad design choices. The weapon wheel. The fact that you cannot store weapons on your vehicle, you can't carry other ammo type, you can't carry a spare gas tank, survival vision highlight fucking doors, melee weapons degrade too fast, aiming is terrible.
You missed some I found and one of my favorite details in games probably. When you open a car hood or trunk the small debris or snow on it falls off, they also have shadows in everything like the small twigs on the floor or the cars itself. If you press R2 just slightly Deacon uses the clutch and you can roll the bike backwards on a hill. You can hear not only the spring compression but also the gas compression/expansion on Deacons bike suspension. He changes expression, fear, rage and relaxation depending on what you do or see. Bugs are modeled, you can see them better on photo mode. Young Deacon have less tattoos, Specifically the Sarah ones. He actually trims his beard after a cut scene. And plenty more lol
Out of curiosity, I once followed an auto shotgun magazine down a hill. Little did I know, I ended up 300-400 meters away from where I started and spent 10 mins doing so. And if you asked me, "Would you do it again?" Hell yes! 😂 (Despite the discarded magazines disappearing in this video's demo. It doesn't disappear in my game.)
You forgot some 1. Deacon always has 2 dialogues when he criticizes Copeland’s, he is loud if he is riding and he is quiet if he is walking, as to not alert freaks. 2. Rolling while you are on fire will extinguish the flames

Why can't I carry other ammo types, why can't I store gun on my vehicles, why can't I strap an extra gas container for emergency, why the fuck do melee weapons degrade so quickly, where the hell is the flashlight coming from. This game is sooooo underrated. One of my best game ever played. I finished the story line but Deacon continue to ride his bike on this dangerous open world.

It's really weird that the developers skipped obvious stuff like the flashlight or the fact that your guns hang off your back magically. They probably didn't think it was necessary since it is a game after all. Kind of old school.

It's funny how our generation which grew up on late 90s, early 2000s games never take these details for granted in today's games. We are always so awestruck at these, the animals, everything, because we never had these before.

It’s one of the best I’ve played so far, and I’ve played a lot of games.
The reviews were a joke and an absolute shame to the rating communities.
The most fun I've had gaming in long time. Especially considering it's open world, I was worried about the grind factor. After 3 weeks, and finishing the story finally (but not all hordes), I never felt that way. Also, never had a game put me so on edge and tense that when I finally got to save I legit put the controller down and had a been n a smoke

I love this game. It was the three parts I enjoy about a game: story, environment and music. It also leaves room for a sequel which is nice too. I saw Gab Smolders play this on her let's play a while back and within 5 minutes of watching her play I was like "I'm getting this". Every time I play it always feels like a new experience. Nice job on the details. 👍

Yeah.. it takes a bit before the story really kicks off.. but it does kick off in a big way.
Dustin Farnum Too bad it have too many bad design choices. The weapon wheel. The fact that you cannot store weapons on your vehicle, you can't carry other ammo type, you can't carry a spare gas tank, survival vision highlight fucking doors, melee weapons degrade too fast, aiming is terrible.

The sound is one of highlights of this game. The sound of the bike tires on wet mud rolling down a slope especially
You missed some I found and one of my favorite details in games probably. When you open a car hood or trunk the small debris or snow on it falls off, they also have shadows in everything like the small twigs on the floor or the cars itself.
If you press R2 just slightly Deacon uses the clutch and you can roll the bike backwards on a hill.
You can hear not only the spring compression but also the gas compression/expansion on Deacons bike suspension.
He changes expression, fear, rage and relaxation depending on what you do or see.
Bugs are modeled, you can see them better on photo mode.
Young Deacon have less tattoos, Specifically the Sarah ones.
He actually trims his beard after a cut scene.
And plenty more lol
Out of curiosity, I once followed an auto shotgun magazine down a hill. Little did I know, I ended up 300-400 meters away from where I started and spent 10 mins doing so.
And if you asked me, "Would you do it again?" Hell yes! 😂
(Despite the discarded magazines disappearing in this video's demo. It doesn't disappear in my game.)

1. Deacon always has 2 dialogues when he criticizes Copeland’s, he is loud if he is riding and he is quiet if he is walking, as to not alert freaks.
2. Rolling while you are on fire will extinguish the flames
Really hope in sequel. I absolutely love this game.

Honza Koudelka They need to fix a bunch of dumb shit design choices for the sequels tho. Why can't I carry other ammo types, why can't I store gun on my vehicles, why can't I strap an extra gas container for emergency, why the fuck do melee weapons degrade so quickly, where the hell is the flashlight coming from. It's dumb fucking shit like this this bring down the experience.
This game is sooooo underrated. One of my best game ever played. I finished the story line but Deacon continue to ride his bike on this dangerous open world.

My fav PS4 game. For once a decent game that hasn’t got micro transactions. As an old school gamer I hate when micro transactions go into a story players game. And they have done a bloody good job. I hope this game does well enough to warrant sequels

It follows your rotation of the camera so if you faced it behind deacon while he is facing forwards it will magically beam through him.
It's really weird that the developers skipped obvious stuff like the flashlight or the fact that your guns hang off your back magically. They probably didn't think it was necessary since it is a game after all. Kind of old school.
wow i’ve platinum’ed the game and i did not once get ambushed by Rippers using a car set a blaze, just goes to show you level of detail is so vast you just can’t capture it all in one play through, definitely replaying this game!!!
I’m not even surprised that this game took almost 8 years under development. Just the amount of details and gameplay, makes this game the best.

It's funny how our generation which grew up on late 90s, early 2000s games never take these details for granted in today's games. We are always so awestruck at these, the animals, everything, because we never had these before.
