7:57 yeah tbh the Davoth boss fight sucked. but it's understandable cuz the devs were kinda rushed, forgive me if I'm wrong but I think I heard somewhere saying they made the whole of part 2 in like 6 months. that's far from enough time considering how the gladiator boss fight alone took like a year to fully complete, so making a final boss and a whole 3 other levels in such a short time would be very difficult. what I think they could've done is have a battle with Davoth, but Davoth escapes to somewhere, leading onto the next doom game where the whole concept of the ancient gods can be fully fleshed out. I think that would've been better, or even simply ending it at ancient gods part 1 would've been fine.
Honestly, though, I thought Ancient Gods Part 1 was overall worse. Samuel was also more annoying, as a boss, since it seems to just rely on bombarding you with the environment rather than the boss itself. Also doesn't help that I didn't like Part 1's writing.
@@VGamingJunkieVT Samur Maykr as a boss is way better than Davoth. What made Samur good was that he didn’t just straight up fight the doom slayer or used some crappy shield-green flash mechanic to evade the slayer’s attacks, he actively used his teleportation and agility to outmanoeuvre the slayer. He’s literally the angel who was beside the slayer throughout so many of his battles, he knows practically his every move. It should be expected for him to be “annoying” in the sense that he actually knows how to fight us. The environment stuff makes sense, he clearly lacks physically against the slayer so uses other means to damage him. Davoth though, is bad. Straight up. His armour doesn’t make a lot of sense, and all 5 phases feel practically the same. Hugo actually had an idea to give him multiple forms, with the final form being a giant dragon. That would’ve been an extremely unique and interesting fight. Unfortunately didn’t come to fruition. Even ignoring final bosses, TAG1 is superior. The combat encounters are far better, the atmosphere is great, and the soundtrack kicks even more ass than TAG2. Not to mention that you didn’t have any crucible or hammer, you couldn’t abuse stuff to just get through each encounter. You actually had to fight. As for writing, I’d say it was more coherent than TAG2. There’s not really much of an explanation for why the gate of divum works the way it does outside of the codex, and the world spear just feels a little exaggerated in its importance. TAG1 felt more focused, and the codex is obviously coherent rather than a retcon of previous work.
@juanjoyaborja.3054 Eh, I didn't really like either all that much but at least Davoth's strategy isn't to just spam environmental hazards on you for the majority of the challenge. Yeah, he summons demon spirits, but those are far easier to work with.
@ That makes him an easier boss to work with, not necessarily better. Doom eternal already has tonnes of environmental hazards, it would be expected for the smartest boss in the game to strategically use them against the slayer. Can’t just rely on fire on the ground forever.

I have a message to those who have been playing DOOM since 2016. There were DOOMs before Mick Gordon. DOOM 1-2-64 and DOOM 3, these projects did not have Mick Gordon composing the music.
Doom : The Dark Ages is the embodiment of "Hell yeah". Chainshield? Hell yeah. Gun that spits out crushed skull chunks? Hell yeah. A giant robot that punches things? Hell yeah. A dragon? Hell yeah. It's one of the few games i am actually waiting to buy and am excited about. How the hell is it bad? Being a fast-paced shooter where you scare the shit out of demons is its thing. Though, i can't buy it the normal way here in Russia (thanks, Bethesda), so i'll get an overpriced game key :(
My only two reservations for Doom Dark Ages are let it have mod support, shouldn't be a problem because of Doom Eternal's mod tools, and don't make the system requirements too demanding. Indiana Jones REQUIRING an RTX 2060 Super is a bit much, I know it's an aged card but it's still over $200 and that's bare minimum.

I won't say it will definitely suck, but I'm worried. I don't like the direction they took with Eternal. It was fun for a while, but in the end I prefer the DOOM (2016) style. how tf can mfs say doom the dark ages will suck when dark ages compared to 2016 and eternal had the most straight forward trailer in comparison, 2016 and eternal first trailers were pre-rendered cinematic trailers while dark ages literally starts with small shots of few cutscenes and then straight up showing gameplay sections, keep in mind in 2016 and etrnal gameplays when they were first revealed, showcases were slow to show players how game looks and feels, but end product ended up being way faster in both cases, imagine showing off this much in first trailer and still have lot more to reveal, only to have people like this nitpicking
Im really hoping for actually slower gameplay, like something like brutal doom on tactical. Idk what people have against slower gameplay especially if it's made to be just as engaging as fast one
im super excited for dark ages and the only worry i had from what we saw is how big the places now look like because it looks a bit like it will be a bit more open maybe even some semi open world stuff. If thats the case i do hope they nail it to make it fun but i do hope im wrong. frankly im just guessing here and we will see on the 23th anyway if i need to be worried or not.
I am getting more back into DOOM reboot/2016 on my channel and do a livestream of Eternal sometime before or after i get done with DOOM 2015 before Doom The Dark Ages. I am concerned it will suck Cause it sounds like they listen to all the criticism of eternal and said ok we will make that game and you better love it But they do know there is no pleasing those people and those complaints where petty as all fuck Just think of the complaints about doom eternal and that’s what they doing for dark ages Complaints like not enough story and cut scenes , platforming, Arcade tone prefer a darker tone, liner progression from arena to arena, lack of cover force to double jump and dash like a maniac and I want to pilot a mech Dark ages has a darker tone , more story , no platforming, non liner game play no longer moving from arena to arena, now face hordes of enemies you can plough through probably respawn in more open stages with permanent cover everywhere you go in the shield that can knock back and parry so no double jump or double dash, projectiles moving slower to decrease the manic intensity and you get to pilot a mech It’s total opposite of eternal and I think it’s the best shooter made It’s just a huge departure I think they can pull it off and make it work and cool they are trying something different but there is a little bit of niggling doubt in the back of my head At least until we see more game play

Expecting redditors to have good takes is like expecting sanity from ponies
how tf can mfs say doom the dark ages will suck when dark ages compared to 2016 and eternal had the most straight forward trailer in comparison, 2016 and eternal first trailers were pre-rendered cinematic trailers while dark ages literally starts with small shots of few cutscenes and then straight up showing gameplay sections, keep in mind in 2016 and etrnal gameplays when they were first revealed, showcases were slow to show players how game looks and feels, but end product ended up being way faster in both cases, imagine showing off this much in first trailer and still have lot more to reveal, only to have people like this nitpicking
I honestly hope snapmap gets brought back i loved 2016s
Im really hoping for actually slower gameplay, like something like brutal doom on tactical. Idk what people have against slower gameplay especially if it's made to be just as engaging as fast one
My only problem with dark ages ost is that i need more. on a serious note i think doom the dark ages Will be a awesome game this year
By god playing doom eternal on keyboard looks so different from controller
I wish i could have a pc that could run that
im super excited for dark ages and the only worry i had from what we saw is how big the places now look like because it looks a bit like it will be a bit more open maybe even some semi open world stuff. If thats the case i do hope they nail it to make it fun but i do hope im wrong. frankly im just guessing here and we will see on the 23th anyway if i need to be worried or not.
A Sneaky upload right before I go to sleep? Awesome 😎
I am getting more back into DOOM reboot/2016 on my channel and do a livestream of Eternal sometime before or after i get done with DOOM 2015 before Doom The Dark Ages. To me i be like Fry saying "Shut up and take my money" because i do enjoy the DOOM series. At least the Reboot series of the DOOM slayer. And for me...I buy DOOM the Dark Ages when it comes on PC.
if you think those opinions are bad then 4chan's /v/ will give you an aneurysm
are there doom posts there for me to make a video on?
All Doom composers are a W
I _much_ prefer Andrew Hulshult's work, myself
Im not even an fps player but i played both 2016 and eternal first time straight on nightmare, i'm pretty sure most fans play on the highest difficulties.
Lol, Andrew Hulshult is just as good, man. IDKFA proves this
Must IGN, Kotaku & Eurogamer.Because these are the same people who are constantly complains about why Stellar Blade & Marvel's Rivals has Too Many🎂🍥s
Will see if it not good or not don't trust everything
I still have yet to play on nightmare mode. but i'll get to it at some point.
I dont know men most of this reddit Takes are totally Bullsh!t but the one starting on 4:27 has some actual arguments, personally i also feel the devolopers are trying to make People understand that this New game will be a tune down in speed compared to eternal, and i dont know if that is the kind of game i will like after such a energic tittle as the previous one
I finding rather wholesome that some peoples are ailling to resign from new doom to show middlefinger for mcgprdon situation
Agressive reactions was unreasonable becouse this was just proposition on table
Also 2016 did many things better from eternal and peoples should stop act like eternal is such a big deal
Becouse afther cold look it isn't

Personally I actually agree with a lot of what these guys were saying I think some bits were out both in the posts and in your commentary but I think it summarises my worries for the game quite well
Im not all that concerned though I don’t have a PC or PS5/XSX so I can’t play it anyway
As always wait a little while after for when the game comes out then come to a decision
I only beaten Doom Eternal on Easy and normal, I did try the hard mode and I got my ass kicked and thought yup this is nor for me normal mode is where I belon 😅
Absolute consoomer behavior
I laughed my ass off when I finished reading the title!
Doom the dark ages will be good
Congrats on reaching 14k!! 😁
Appreciate it! 😄
Doom subreddit has a trans/rainbow flag as their main banner, tells you exactly what to expect from these normie tourists
japanese soldier who kept fighting 29 years later after ww2
I respect the grind man
Woah you’re a cat spammer (means category spammer weapon's with no delay) in doom i know one game can do that that is pixel gun 3d. Man enjoys your doom single game. People in Reddit don’t know whats fun game is back of the 90s we need it back now more Micro transactions no more expensive games no more fanboys. That’s why I don’t like this game generation its a big mess of greedy corporations let be a lesson in thr wildfire in California if they steal peoples hard earned money cash for a better product and price.
Id software didn't give me what i wanted with this new doom i didn't like doom 2016 or eternal so i am hoping that this new doom for 2025 will be more like the proper classic doom
I mean, I am mad about Mick seemingly not be in the OST, But a mid ost hasn’t stopped me from enjoying a game
Tbh I prefer david levis and andrews work on the dlcs, worldspear bloodswamp and the trial of maligog might be tge best djent ost ive ever heard
(Sadly they wont be the ones making the dark ages ost)
My only complaint about DOOM The Dark Ages is that it's not Quake.
I am concerned it will suck
Cause it sounds like they listen to all the criticism of eternal and said ok we will make that game and you better love it
But they do know there is no pleasing those people and those complaints where petty as all fuck
Just think of the complaints about doom eternal and that’s what they doing for dark ages
Complaints like not enough story and cut scenes , platforming, Arcade tone prefer a darker tone, liner progression from arena to arena, lack of cover force to double jump and dash like a maniac and I want to pilot a mech
Dark ages has a darker tone , more story , no platforming, non liner game play no longer moving from arena to arena, now face hordes of enemies you can plough through probably respawn in more open stages with permanent cover everywhere you go in the shield that can knock back and parry so no double jump or double dash, projectiles moving slower to decrease the manic intensity and you get to pilot a mech
It’s total opposite of eternal and I think it’s the best shooter made
It’s just a huge departure
I think they can pull it off and make it work and cool they are trying something different but there is a little bit of niggling doubt in the back of my head
At least until we see more game play
we will be fine bro trust it
Wish it had multiplayer the 2016 one was great
I got a better one, the whole new doom series is not a worthy succesor and on top of all it's story actively hurts the phrancise
Question, why does every gaming subreddit ALWAYS has to have the rainbow flag themes? WTF is this XD
it's a reddit thing I think idk, bloodborne is same way
undertale ost opinion rejected
God forbid someone has a favorite game ost.
@ depends on the game silly 🧙🏿♂️
@@Lethal_Spoon You do realize that I could say the same about Half Life, right? I could immediately disregard your opinion just because it has a "bad" ost, right? That could so easily be turned on you.
@@tirefish you don’t play half life to have wholesome 100 furry moments broski
@Lethal_Spoon Yeah you're right. I play Half Life because I enjoy the game. Why can't people just enjoy a game. You'd have a point if Sneaky was a diehard Undertale fan who acts like an immature troglodyte when people give Undertale criticism, but that isn't the case. Besides, he could just like the ost, nothing more. I don't like Persona, but I do think the ost is pretty good.
This will age very poorly once the game is out and we can confirm that it does indeed suck. I don't see how anyone could be hyped for this after how bad Starfield was.
?????😂😂😂😂
bro thinks the starfield devs are making this instead of ID software
@@sneakycacti ID is one of the most reliable developers that truly care about the product that they are making for the gaming community. They put optimization in the top of the list and always deliver on that. Hugo did say he and the team are aiming to make the best shooter EVER and I truly believe they are going to do that. Can't wait for January 23 for the developer direct Doom will have an full reveal
