    My favorite thing about this video is that you had 4 women, 3 of which are black, and it didn't become an entire convo about race. Not that it would be an issue, they should be talking about it, but it proves to those who are ignorant that people of color have way more issues than just the color of their skin, they are just like anyone else, and they don't ALWAYS have to talk about their skin color. It was beautiful, intelligent and elegant!

    • @SoulKisses76
      @SoulKisses76 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Messagefrom Montie I don't think she was saying it was an issue to talk about racism, she was saying that that's not the only thing we focus on and it's important for people to see that.

    • @MusicFilmArtLover
      @MusicFilmArtLover 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Brianna I disagree.Racial injustice should be at the forefront of every conversation and discussion especially on television until it is not only acknowledge but our inheritance is received! Does this mean they are incapable of talking about other things - No! When will enough be enough? A sane white man goes inside a church and kill black elderly people because of the color of their skin? A cope shoot a black kid in cold blood and he get's off. I can go on and on. Where is the humanity? Why in 2017 we are still treated like 3/4 of a person. Why are we compared to a dog like the host said at the end of this video? Some of you may think it was a joke but trust and believe, it was revealing and disrespectful to the human condition of black and people of color period. In her opening monologue she mentioned being sorry for being so ignorant but yet she still found it okay to say her joke?! Her joke contradicted everything she said in her opening. She knew what she was saying and I do not give a hoot how many black men she slept with in the past. She has no empathy for what is our birth right, which is to be treated like a human being. Once again a white comedian uses black women or women of color as bate to boost her ratings. Yes, the overall discussion was okay but like Rosario said in the end, she as in the host need to listen. Aisha comment about being poor and black and she will not apologize for making it, the statement should be more about why did it take you 50 years to get where you are and why were you even poor in the first place. You're happy Brianna but I'm not. The people you see on that stage are individual success and does not reflect the injustices the everyday black persons are going through. They represent an illusion that most of us will never get to experience in real life. Now is that right? No! I see you may be burden by the legacy of slavery by American history of racial inequality. We went through slavery, Jim Crow, The Black Civil Rights Movement, the Black Panther Movement and now Black Lives Matter. It's been 400 years- enough is enough. Everyone, no matter what color should be outrage by how their fellow man has been dehumanize. Where is the empathy? Where is the justice? Every chance I get on a platform like this, you better believe, I will take about race!

    Wow, this conversation was incredible for so many reasons.
    I am Canadian and therefore a bit removed from the current US political landscape, though not far enough removed to not be concerned. Seeing three beautiful, intelligent, and extremely articulate women of colour speaking on these important topics of privilege, continual knowledge seeking, engagement with the system etc... well this damn near had me in tears.
    I am mixed race black + white woman and I don't see women who look like me speak like this or have opportunities to come together for discussions of this nature. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to the Chelsea show, for giving these women an opportunity to speak out and share their thoughts. This was powerful.

    "I wasn't paying enough attention to them", in truth no one was paying attention at all for a very long time and look how it turned out. No only are Americans obsessed with labeling everyone, examples: straight/gay, rich/poor, white/black and on and on and on, the fact people are ignored or overlooked from certain parts of the country proves that nothing will change for the better. This isn't so much an ideological battle as it's a battle against apathy and widespread accepted indifference against those that mean nothing to you. If you want the country to move in the right direction then first start caring about other's throughout your life, especially about people not related to you and not when it's a "problem" that needs to be resolved. Good luck!
