I know a lot of people are going to disagree with this, but I seriously think Animal Crossing has the potential to do a really deep and really emotional story sometime in the future. It should be optional though. You don't have to listen to it. Think about it. We have all of these well loved and iconic characters who are in multiple different relationships with one another. Some good, some bad. I was thinking that in the Wii U version, they should create a special little area of town where the shopkeepers and other special characters live. We know they have houses. Isabelle says she has one but we can't go to it. These houses would be a great place to go if we want to catch the special characters in their down time so we can learn more about their personality away from the store. I was thinking after set conditions are met, such as becoming friendlier with the characters, events start to happen that detail their relationships with other characters, and it triggers a kind of mini quest that takes a couple of days or so to complete, but once done it changes the complete dynamic of the town. For example, maybe there could be an event where you as a player try to get Tom Nook and Sable back together, and once that's done something changes. I'm not entirely sure what, but maybe Tom Nook could use all of his well earned billions to help expand the Able Sisters business and actually start improving the store so it becomes a lot bigger and a lot more items becomes available. Maybe there could be an event where you learn about Redd and Nook's history, and after events happen while performing the task, Redd decides to change his ways and all of his artwork he sells becomes genuine, correctly priced and you can buy multiple at once. Could even be a task where you help Labelle push her brand across the world and by doing that you visit other people's towns and give the animals items from her brand. Maybe she gives you ten accessories at a time and you give them out until she becomes so big that Gracie decides to open up shop on the second floor of Able Sisters. I dunno... These are all just thoughts.
+Wrench Man I agree and maybe the animal crossing game could be called: Animal Crossing, Full Moon? Or Animal Crossing, Extras? I Dunno, just thoughts.
The little backstory is amazing. I love how Brewster and Blathers are friends, how Lyle is a into gossip, and how Zipper T. Bunny has a zipper going down his back. I love Katie the kitten, Pascal, and Gulliver. Resetti's little center is adorable, and Its so cute how Kicks got his own shop. All the little details are what make the game so great.
***** I remember this in City Folk. Not from the other games (I didn't play the N64 or Gamecube versions of Animal Crossing and I NEVER saw him in Wild World).
+Julithehuman It's actually revealed that Zipper T. Bunny is actually Phyllis, the pelican who runs the post office (and in earlier games, the town hall) from 10PM to 5 AM, in costume
I know you posted this years ago, but my wife and I just discovered this playlist. We cried at the story of Sable :'( You have added to the substance of the universe with this series. thank you so much. we are still watching through it all. its like the best reality show ever. About Animal Crossing. We've also learned a lot that we didn't know about the game so thank you
I was beginning to think that I was the only one watching his series years after he posted. I am new to animal crossing and I've gotta say that I have learned so much about animal crossing that I never new before.
Prior to this episode I didn't know about Sable's story (mainly because I have never played Animal Crossing), but once this series started I immediately fell in love with her. I couldn't put my finger on why exactly, but I knew she was by far my favorite character. I have a habit of liking characters with deep backstories, such as Portgas D. Ace from One Piece and many other characters. The story of Sable itself combined with the way you presented it nearly brought tears to my eyes. So Chuggaa, I ask you to keep up the great work, and keep putting that emotional value into this series and all of your series in the future. And thank you for giving us such great videos to watch!
***** There is. There's about 40 episodes for the main series including New Years 2013/2014 stuff. From then on, he announces what's going on in the bonus videos though what I do usually is go to his uploads, trace back to the last video of Animal Crossing I saw, and click on the next one (it doesn't take too long to backtrack IMO).
I love those little sad back stories in series, they just make you feel for the characters so much more! Like Sable's in Animal Crossing, Shadow's in Sonic and Rosalina's in Mario.
I unlocked the Able’s story in New Horizons. I remember when I watched this video the day it came out thinking about how incredible this story was. I also thought of one of the best stories that I’ve missed. It’s why I always remembered when you said “those stories are out there, but you just have to find it”. I haven’t played Animal Crossing since City Folk because of the handhelds, but it’s made me appreciate New Horizons. If you ever read this Chugga, I just want to thank you for unlocking more meaning and purpose in one of my favorite childhood video games. You’re the best!
Hey, Chugga, I don't know whether you'll see this comment - likely not, considering the amount of them you get - but I just wanted to honestly thank you for these videos. Some of the series you make are things I look forward to impatiently for most of my day. I'm currently in my last year of school, and going through a lot of things what with university applications and exams and all the hassle that comes with being involved in social life in school, and I can't express just how great it is for me to have these 20-25 minutes at the end of my day when I can just unwind and watch you play a game. The amount of love and effort you put into your vids really comes through, and it puts you head and shoulders above a lot of TH-camrs. So, once again, thanks. You're regularly putting a smile on my face right before I go to sleep.
My fortune cookies so far (I've only had three) Sometimes a sword is just a sword, sometimes it's a pretty girl: Fi Mask It's dangerous to go alone, take this: Master Sword If you leave my mask out there, something terrible will happen: Majora's Mask (You can wear it!!) I hope this trend continues :3 cause I want that link outfit~ Wouldn't mind having the whole zelda furniture set ether
Yep, now you need: ~Hero's cap ~Hero's tunic ~Hero's pants ~Hero's boots ~Triforce ~Midna cap I probably missed one or two things, or gave something the wrong name, but ya know what I meant. I hope Chuggaa gets Majora's Mask, since he LP'd that game a while back.
Rip Van Winkle Yeah, if Chugga doesn't want his triforce anymore I would like to trade him for it I don't know what I'd trade, but then I think when you visit the person's town with the dream suite you can buy stuff from that person's house can't you?
When I first played this game, I thought that Sable was cute, but she never talked much. I started talking to her more often, and she started to talk to me more often. I never thought she would have such a moving and deep backstory until I watched this video (this was all back when I didn't have a TH-cam account). Things like this are why I love Animal Crossing.
I remember coming across Sable's story in Wild World and City Folk as a young 8 year old. I forgot most of it through the years (now I'm 17), but the one thing that stuck with me was the burnt orange scissors Tom Nook gave Sable. I never forgot that small detail. It feels amazing to finally remember the whole story again, because I remember it touched me deeply the first time I read it. Yes, even as an 8 year old.
Why don't they put that wonderful story in New Leaf? It's beautiful. It's so realistic, yet so magical. Just because its a "kids" game, doesn't mean you have to withhold such wonderful storytelling.
Ever since the GameCube's Animal Crossing I always loved talking to Sable because she was such an interesting person. Trying to learn more about the people around town was a great part of the series. I actually was a little upset to not see that in New Leaf
If anyone wants to find more on tom nook's and sable's relationship, I would recommend the fanfic "Star Shirt" as well as it's sequel "Sable's Secret". Both are very well written and explore Tom nook's and Sable's relationship up to City Folk. Links are avalible at the TV tropes animal crossing fanfics page, under Shipping Fics. Contains TomxSable (duh) and "Sable's Secret" does have some minor swearing and some heavy themes. I hope you enjoy them
Sable has actually mentioned this to me in New Leaf. She didn't tell the full story, just that her parents had died and left her and Mabel, and that Label had worked for Gracie under the name Labelle. I'd never heard the whole story because I'd only played a bit of Wild World and it didn't really grab me before I got obsessed with New Leaf. Thanks for sharing, Chuggaa.
Up until now I actually didn't know Tom Nook's involvement in the Able sisters' story, but I remember discovering the story of their parents in the Gamecube Animal Crossing. Definitely captured my interest and made me feel an emotional attachment to Sable. The whole story is a great little gem that not enough people know about so I'm glad you talked about it. Makes me very sad that it is not discussed much in this game.
Animal crossing logic- whale shark and flea take up same amount of space in pockets, priceless works of art but not mannequins can be sent through the mail, fish can be put in dressers, and the power of the gods costs 2 play coins.
Lol, the whole "Dresser-ception: Fish and Fridges" monologue was hilarious xD But also, I really loved that story. I've played a bit of Animal Crossing on and off, but I never really got into it as much as I probably needed to to find this story. But I'm glad you told it, because it really made the whole game a lot more profound and deep in meaning for me.
Hello! I'm still watching this LP in October 2018 even though I now know who Isabelle is so I understand the Smash reference because this LP is just so GOOD! It's so relaxing and it's really made me feel better the past couple of days. I love how you handled Sable's story. You've beautiful voice for narrative. Thank you for all your hard work on these LPs.
New Leaf is my first Animal Crossing game and I didn't know the whole background about the Able Sisters and honestly, it touched me so much :') IT WAS SUCH A CUTE STORY! And it also made my day!
i remember that in the last game labelle worked in the city and sometimes i would notice that mable wasnt following me and then i would talk to her and then she would be all depressed about her being seperated from her sister. (labelle)
Chugga, I think that before the end of this series, you should tell us a few more of the stories hidden within Animal crossing games. I've never been able to find them, and based on the way you've told today's story...you should tell a few more. I honestly don't want this series to end, either. It's a great series...maybe you will continue one day...but hey, tat's just one person's opinion. :)
You gave that story...that beautiful story...on my birthday!! Thank you for brightening my day even though it is after my birthday now I still know it was told
April fools day... My character: "hey sable somebody on the phone wants to talk to you". Sable: "oh okay who is it?"' My character: "not your parents". Sable:"*cries a fucking waterfall*".
I feel very happy for you chuggaa. Your first house is a heck of an achievement, and I wish you the best! Phineas could never give an award like that. Also, TH-cam CONTENT ID: WTF
I lived Sable's story. I haven't played previous Animal Crossing games so I didn't know the story but I'm so glad that you told us that story and in such a beautiful way too...
Sometimes... I wish there would be a new animal crossing where you could watch your villagers really grow up and marry *cough*SableandTomNook*cough* I also wish there were human characters? Where you could maybe marry? Make it incredibly realistic? Heck, I know people watch that 'cause Google suggested "how to get married in Animal Crossing:New Leaf" LOL XD
+sarah and Dragon There is a game like Animal Crossing that you can have a boyfriend and best friends. It is called Magician's Quest Mysterious Times. It is basically a spin off game. You can still decorate your room, catch fish and bugs, talk to villagers, go shopping, and much more. The game is very addicting! The thing that differs from Animal Crossing is that you get to play with magic and solve mysteries.
sarah and Dragon Tom Nook is married to his job though now. He doesn't have time for love. It's like shipping Edgeworth and Kay Faraday from Ace Attorney.
sarah and Dragon I really do wish you could marry other characters in Animal Crossing, because if you could, I'd marry Benedict in a heartbeat ((Pun intended ;3)).
I decided to rewatch the series because this is the series that brought me into animal crossing after years of struggle in decision. I forgot about a certain part in this episode. I'm not crying.. I'm not.
Ah, you should put the letter set next to the piggy bank! That way it looks like you'd be writing letters while sitting on your snowy tree stump~ :D Then again, that "top hat" is indeed adorable. Also, that was impressive prediction with the Snowman Bingo, Emile! xD Though I'm sorry... It still doesn't beat out Jon's prediction skills on Pipesqueak in Mario Party 3. xD Anyway, I almost teared up a little bit during Sable's Story, to be honest... It's really cute and lighthearted, and gives a nice backstory to one of my favorite NPCs in the series. As a fan of the series since the original, thanks for bringing back my own memories, Emile. It was fun reliving them. Good night, sir~
just something i noticed. on the tv we saw a fitness program or in this case aerobics. areobics was in a previous animal crossing game. but they had music when it happened. the same music that was played during the areobics was playing on the tv, for areobics...
I kind of zoned out reading something while you were reading most of the story, and then I zoned back in and it was going "I used to make wishes for Tom Nook every night" and I thought you were reading a Tom Nook is Love type story.
ArgumentEnder I think Sable and Nook's connection could be love, or a really strong friendship, kinda like Zoro and Kuina from One Piece and Gin and Matsumoto from Bleach along with probably SO many other examples it'd take a hot minute for me to figure out.
That particular story is rather special to me, as I like Mabel and Sable. I managed to buy some good Cold Weather gear from them. This is quite a ways into the future, but occasionally, I come back to listen to the story. Sad, but worth watching this.
Chugga... Emile... I don't have anything witty or funny or clever to say. But I will say this: you should build the Reset Center. Why? Emile. It's getting close to Christmas. It's a time that's supposed to be about good will and celebrating good things in life and sharing love in our families and even with people we don't even know. Show some kindness this Christmas to Resetti. It's the least you can do.
You should of bought the security camera and send it to Shari. Hopefully she would put it up and now you could make sure she wasn't doing anything suspicious....Cheeky....
Thank you for the story. And for all your let’s plays for that matter! I also love grandfather clocks and Frozen. Elsa is my favorite Disney Princess because I can really relate to her in trying to hide my emotions for fear of hurting others. I’m currently looking to build a house in Hendersonville North Carolina, though I’m gonna have to move from South America in order to do it. My parents and brothers live in Chile and I’ve been living with them. In any case, I wish you the best of luck with your house and things! You are my favorite gamer, Chuggaaconroy! You have been for me since 2011! Best wishes!
Let's all support Chugga to make this series longer although I don't play the game... Let's get as many comments about how we love this series to keep him going >_
Wow. Thanks, Chuggaa. I'm glad I asked for that story a couple parts back. That was very well told. And you giving up a chance for a lucky snowflake just to keep the atmosphere just right was a noble sacrifice. Huh... a touching story told in the winter with a flowing snowflake. I'm sorry if any non-MLP fans don't like me mentioning this in a Chuggaaconroy video, but the way the atmosphere was given reminded me a lot of the story of Snowdrop. I actually cried a little bit on the inside.
I give Chugga credit for not getting off that stump to get that snowflake.
I think it provided a nice atmosphere to the sad story, A snowflake fluttered in the breeze, sable's memories fleeted with it...
True!
MysteriousB Yes... so sad! :'(
I wonder how I never knew all this?
Green EmeraldGaming I love that story ,so sad and dramantiv story u should do more storys like that
I know a lot of people are going to disagree with this, but I seriously think Animal Crossing has the potential to do a really deep and really emotional story sometime in the future. It should be optional though. You don't have to listen to it.

I dunno... These are all just thoughts.
I really agree with you about that. Id like to see like an animal crossing novel or comic focussed on the Able sisters or Nook and his two kids.
+Wrench Man I agree and maybe the animal crossing game could be called:
Animal Crossing, Full Moon?
Or Animal Crossing, Extras?
I Dunno, just thoughts.
+Asriel Dreemurr they are not kids they are nephews
+Maplestar The Cat do u think he could use a striped blue tv ?
That would be unfair to ds users!
Julithehuman I remember Blathers calling Brewster "simple" in Wild World.
kagemaru397 I don't know if that is cute little friend thing or offensive but I love it
Julithehuman
I believe he meant it in a negative connotation.
Oh man...Sable's story makes me cry...I like her even more! ;A;
Ya I like I used to call tom nook stupid
But not after hearing that story
It really makes them seem more of a character than normal.

The snowflake during the storytelling just made it perfect.
I know this is supposed to be serious and emotional but that snowflake is clearly taunting him.
I know, I have to admit, I was impressed he ignored it.
Really
16:00 I ended up having to repeat the entire story because I got distracted by the dancing snowflake.
That snowflake was the perfect addition to the story!
That one snowflake just taunting Chugga relentlessly while he's telling us something important.

Chugga, why did you take the lamp?!
It's probably *EVIDENCE*!
This story oh my God. I should not be moved this much.
And now I seriously ship Sable x Nook. I'm a little bit pathetic.
Chris Noble I think both are fine. But yeah, those two have history together. I wouldn't be surprised if they DID feel that way towards each other.
+Chris Noble I don't blame you.

After him telling the story of the Abel sisters, all i could think was: Let the Sable/Tom Nook romance fanfiction commence.

Sable's story is so sad!
i remember that in the last game labelle worked in the city and sometimes i would notice that mable wasnt following me and then i would talk to her and then she would be all depressed about her being seperated from her sister. (labelle)
so that is how you know when she will tell you her story
I kept staring at the dancing snowflake while he was telling the story 😂
Chugga, I think that before the end of this series, you should tell us a few more of the stories hidden within Animal crossing games. I've never been able to find them, and based on the way you've told today's story...you should tell a few more. I honestly don't want this series to end, either. It's a great series...maybe you will continue one day...but hey, tat's just one person's opinion. :)
You gave that story...that beautiful story...on my birthday!! Thank you for brightening my day even though it is after my birthday now I still know it was told
that story was so sad and so beautiful
Yes! Thank you for telling Sables story!
Thank you for telling this story!
grandfather clock would look good in molly's house
I agree
AROOOOOO!!
oh my gosh this is so deep and serious for an animal crossing game.
AHHHH man that story. So much feels, I cant handle it!!! Thank you chugga you made me feel something tonight.
:O i thought Dr Shrunk was an Axolotl….
Easier way to say it is a Mexican Salamander or if your into Pokemon like me, then Mudkip!
hahaha, love it!
He's a SALAMANDER??!??!??
I thought he was a shrimp. Shrunk the shrimp
I. LOVE. AXOLOTLZ!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE, DO NOT END THIS SERIES, I AM EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED, I WILL DIEEE
April fools day...
My character: "hey sable somebody on the phone wants to talk to you".
Sable: "oh okay who is it?"'
My character: "not your parents".
Sable:"*cries a fucking waterfall*".
Hey, do you know how to pick up items in this game.
You press the Y button
Peter Leahy and the B button
Brendan Flynn thats messed up!
+Kari "lalaloopsielover" lomeli, batman would definitely agree with you on that one
I feel very happy for you chuggaa. Your first house is a heck of an achievement, and I wish you the best! Phineas could never give an award like that. Also,
TH-cam CONTENT ID: WTF
I lived Sable's story. I haven't played previous Animal Crossing games so I didn't know the story but I'm so glad that you told us that story and in such a beautiful way too...
Chugga.
Make a gold super toilet. You know you want to.
It's sad to think Chugga's gonna end the series after December but who knows, he'll maybe come back!
*want
+sarah and Dragon There is a game like Animal Crossing that you can have a boyfriend and best friends. It is called Magician's Quest Mysterious Times. It is basically a spin off game. You can still decorate your room, catch fish and bugs, talk to villagers, go shopping, and much more. The game is very addicting! The thing that differs from Animal Crossing is that you get to play with magic and solve mysteries.
sarah and Dragon Tom Nook is married to his job though now. He doesn't have time for love. It's like shipping Edgeworth and Kay Faraday from Ace Attorney.
sarah and Dragon
I really do wish you could marry other characters in Animal Crossing, because if you could, I'd marry Benedict in a heartbeat ((Pun intended ;3)).
Can we talk about that perfect little snow flake that flew by while he was telling the story? Unintentional added atmosphere.
I decided to rewatch the series because this is the series that brought me into animal crossing after years of struggle in decision. I forgot about a certain part in this episode. I'm not crying.. I'm not.
Chugga please visit Aika Village. I wanna see what u have to say about it
OMG YEESSSS
Acually chuggaaconroy , Shrunk is an Axolotl :3 Very cute little creatures, closely related to mudskippers (if im not mistaken)
Axolotls are salamanders, so he's technically not wrong. c:
They are also the origin of the famous Mudkip design in Pokemon
Teamknux Mud!
nope nope mudskippers... mud skippers... mud skip... mud kip... Mudkip!
Fun fact: if you look carefully in Lablle side of the store you can see that Gracie gave her a certificate when she left
He speaks so fast! It's confusing yet amazing! I'm confused yet amazed!
I'm surprised he didn't tell the story of the time Sable made Mable gloves when they were little. It's about the cutest thing I've ever heard. (':
they're story is so heartbreaking but you feel thier pain
SILVER BED!.............................. Oh, That won't be too comfortable.....
lol
what about gold? oh wait..okay bad idea
It still doesn't beat out Jon's prediction skills on Pipesqueak in Mario Party 3. xD
Anyway, I almost teared up a little bit during Sable's Story, to be honest... It's really cute and lighthearted, and gives a nice backstory to one of my favorite NPCs in the series. As a fan of the series since the original, thanks for bringing back my own memories, Emile. It was fun reliving them.
Good night, sir~
Thumbnail looks like you're gonna belt out Bohemian Rhapsody with the Able Sisters.
just something i noticed.
on the tv we saw a fitness program or in this case aerobics. areobics was in a previous animal crossing game.
but they had music when it happened.
the same music that was played during the areobics was playing on the tv, for areobics...
I guess labelle turned over a NEW LEAF! AHAHAHAHAH!
The layton music makes me want to cry at the story. ;_;
I kind of zoned out reading something while you were reading most of the story, and then I zoned back in and it was going "I used to make wishes for Tom Nook every night" and I thought you were reading a Tom Nook is Love type story.
ArgumentEnder look hard enough online, I garuntee you will find that version...
ArgumentEnder I think Sable and Nook's connection could be love, or a really strong friendship, kinda like Zoro and Kuina from One Piece and Gin and Matsumoto from Bleach along with probably SO many other examples it'd take a hot minute for me to figure out.
yosheth Yeah, that's fanfiction for you (and fanart).
That particular story is rather special to me, as I like Mabel and Sable. I managed to buy some good Cold Weather gear from them. This is quite a ways into the future, but occasionally, I come back to listen to the story. Sad, but worth watching this.
I remember when I was 7 2 years ago watching this. I still love it dough
Chugga...
When it comes to the ores i only have 2 words to say : Golden Kitty
Yeah! I want a golden kitty too!
I say Silver Apple Tv, because gold stuff is kind of gaudy at times.
DisturbedKoala sure but it is what nature intended thecreatorsproject.vice.com/blog/520-cat-figurines-become-an-army-of-luck
The story of the Able sisters made me cry, such a sweet story, hope that they will reach there goal in the next game.
9:45
Creepypasta anyone? with a side of nightmares!
Let's all support Chugga to make this series longer although I don't play the game...
Let's get as many comments about how we love this series to keep him going >_
You have to make the reset center because even though reseti can be annoying it would still be awesome to have a diglet In your town. Lol
Chuggaaconroy at his best. Takes five minutes and changes your perspective forever. Kudos.
