I had a look at your King Samurai video. Nice short presentation. There is a hiss in the audio background though. Try lowering the microphone gain a little. Background music at low level also helps. Keep up the good work! 👍
@@thetinkeringseal Thank you very much! Yes, Seiko was still an "old" video... and yes, my videos are a bit shorter that the detailed review in my blog is.... :-) In this video I have a new set and a Rhode micro. Is it better? I have currently made 10 more with this set like this.... th-cam.com/video/T6dtWD3pTIw/w-d-xo.html
Best review of this watch, really... I own this one and I concur with your conclusions. The bezel is slippery but very solid feeling. My chapter ring is slightly misaligned and when unscrewed, the crown hits the winding thread as well, very annoying... But I have to admit it's a very enjoyable, fun watch that's surprisingly comfortable to wear.
Thanks! I'm planning to make a tutorial when regulating it. It will be a while longer though as I want the movement to settle first. My other automatics have all changed character after being worn for a few weeks.
I have this watch and put it on a mesh bracelet. Looks amazing. My bezel aligns perfectly as does the chapter ring. Mine also winds beautifully and does not interact with the crown guard. I think you need to make sure you have unscrewed the crown properly, as per your video. Overall, a lovely watch and nice review.
The crown is completely released. It's free without resistance when turning the opposite direction, but catches the threads when turned the right way even with a minimum of pressure.
Very nice watch as good review i have two Seiko samurai's one black and the other orange timekeeping pretty much what is exspted both needs to be Calibrated i just recently ordered the Crafter Blue rubber band orange in color to match the watch very good well made diving band i highly recommend this band as it fits really nicely!
This watch is crazy good for what you get and looks good on my 8” wrist , for the price you can’t beat it. This watch retails for $595 & I bought mine on sale new for $400
I bought mine from a friend yesterday, also for about 400 dollars. The original owner apparently bought it brand new in July for about 650. I personally don't know anything about watches, and I have spent the better part of today wondering if I even like it tbh. Sure it looks good, but I don't know if I like the blue all that much. I'm sure my friend would buy it back if I told him I didn't want it, but I am giving it a try. Also here on the internet to see what others think of it. I love that it's pretty big.
It aligns " fairly well" How much longer will Seiko's fan base put up with this ? I think the "long strap " is the rubber version of the diver's extension for a dive suit.
@@thetinkeringseal yeah i meant the great white, I like the dial of the manta ray . it just seemed they put more thought into the great white with the shark fin hand, the hidden shark fins in the water. even the bezel complements the dial.
@@thetinkeringseal I'm waiting for the SRPE37 white dial to arrive any moment now. I haven't had first hand experience with either watch and I'm trying to make a judgement call off videos. The Turtle really does seem to have a lot of loyal followers and there's usually a reason for that. My first choice is the Samurai but since I will already have one I'm trying to decide if I should diversify a little. I can't find the Turtle for a good price so that might decide for me.
Ah, you're going with the King Samurai. That's a nice one too. I think the Samurai is more popular because of the sharp lines. It fits better for a watch this big. There's plenty of Turtle fans too though.

A significant difference in the right direction. 👍
@@thetinkeringseal thank you so much! :-)
I was gifted one recently.. i love it. It's an amazing watch. Thanks for the video 👍
I just rewarded myself with 1 and looking back it's been 3 yrs since this video and it still looks good
One of my top favourites in the collection!!! By far💙.
Bought it today and really like it. Thank you for the review!

Thanks a lot! 😃
I have this watch in stainless steel strap, mine is aligned and the time is accurate i have no complaints im very happy with this watch 🙂
Nice and thorough review, thanks for this! Do you make a video of regulating this watch?
Thanks!
I'm planning to make a tutorial when regulating it. It will be a while longer though as I want the movement to settle first. My other automatics have all changed character after being worn for a few weeks.
I also had the watch in front of the lens and wrote a cool review on the blog. However, I like your video review extremely well! Also very much info.
Thank you very much! 😊

I have some Seiko, but i love this one really, very confortable and really nice..
The rubber strap is very nice, though the watch is a bit top heavy without a bracelet.

Did he said Perfectly aligned I would highly recommend to check it if you would like to have a giggle. Around 8:16

I think the "long strap " is the rubber version of the diver's extension for a dive suit.
I've seen far worse alignment on other models. With that said, it is really silly that Seiko isn't making a better effort to fix such a basic fault.
Looks like a really nice watch
Very very nice...the big problem is: this one or the "regular" manta?? I'm getting crazy about LOL! Very nice vid1!
Definitely go for this one. The upgrades make a difference.
@@thetinkeringseal thanx much appreciated
@@thetinkeringseal This one FOR SURE. I've had mine for a while now and wear it daily in construction work; it gets a beating but still looks new.
Stunning, I want one!
Is it Made in Japan. 🇯🇵
They could engrave a manta ray at the backside rather than classic seiko wave.Very nice presentation btw👍
That would be a cool touch! Maybe next year. 🙂
Plz do a review on the stainless steel cable if you can...thinking of buying it...🇬🇧🇬🇧
What stainless steel cable?
🕗
✌🏻👱🏻♂️✌🏻
Beautifull watch
It is! The dial is really something special.
Great. ❤️❤️❤️👌👍
Should I buy one new for $500 aud
If you feel it's worth it. I'm not giving any economical advice.
cant seem to see the made in Japan on the watch.
You won't see it as this is a K version.
@@thetinkeringseal What does the “K version” mean?
I am so confused between this one or the turtle
It's two different case designs. The turtle is round with no sharp edges.
How about the monster??
What about the monster? 🤔
@@thetinkeringseal Huh??? Ok where is the monster version of this?
I'm not aware of a monster with manta ray dial. 🤔
The penguin one, u mean 😊
Man, didn't let us know what is your wrist size, that's crucial info for big watches, and what is bezel made of?
My wrist is about 16.5cm (6.5") and the bezel is ceramic.
Well detailed...arigato
Arigato gozaimasu 🙂
I have a seiko 5 automatic sport
It looks nice but I'm just not as impressed as I was with the samurai shark 🦈.
Do you mean the Samurai Great White? That's a nice one too, but I think the dial on the two Manta Ray versions are more elaborate.
@@thetinkeringseal yeah i meant the great white, I like the dial of the manta ray . it just seemed they put more thought into the great white with the shark fin hand, the hidden shark fins in the water. even the bezel complements the dial.
Yes, the shark fin is very discrete. It took me a while to notice it when I saw the watch the first time.
Bien!!!
Too many choices. I've been going back and forth between the Samurai and the Turtle.
There's only one choice. The Samurai!
Well, unless you prefer the roundness of the turtle.

They could have done a better job with that chapter ring printing.
How do you "save oceans" by producing even more plastic items, like packaging for this watch? You don't - it's just marketing bs.
You save the package ... duhh
By giving money to foundations. Plastic is not the problem. Waste management is.
6:38 At first I thought you said it felt a bit slippery because you thought it was Polish 😂😂. Sorry about that lol.
Lol, mantas are a bit slippery though. 😂
👍
More than 8 tons a year
Save the cio of seiko made in china and the gangsters fundation.....save the oceans hihihi...funny
