    This is the best solder sucker I have ever used. It has a heat-proof silicon tube end, which allows you to envelop the solder joint without fear of touching the hot soldering iron. This increases the suction and removes molten solder much more efficiently. Highly recommended.

    Thank you for this review infact I have enjoyed all your Electronic Beginners series thus far and have learned a lot I continue to dip into them as I set up my own lab. I do hope you are considering more videos in the future.

    MAybe my findings are a different, because I am mainly working on retro hardware, with usually very dried out solder: I tried it, and compared to the Pro'skit 8PK-366NA and the Ideal-Tek Conductive 77, both double o-ring pumps, opposed to the SS-02. The SS-02 was so much worse, that I instantly had to sent it back. On many solder points I had to use the pump like 3 to ten(!) times for clearing, all points thatz could easily be cleaned by the othet two pumps with just one try. Maybe it was broken, but I believe it's an unjustified hype, as I could not see any production fault even after disassembling the SS-02.
    And there even are way stronger pumps, like the Soldapullt III.
    Also I have read many complaints about the push pin breaking, which doesn't seem far fetched, as it's ridiculously flimsy. Also the SS-02 was just way to small, this making it very annoying to hold, and it's barely possible to have a good suck without synchronously moving the pump aways from the solder point, because of it's own momentum (which is very high, because it obviously tries to compensate for it's small size and having only one o-ring) and the slippery surface with no gripping surface. Yes, this effectively makes the silicone nozzle useless, because you will have an airgap anyway, and a bigger one than with any other pump I ever tried. Also I have relatively small hands, so it's not a matter of my hands being too big ..
    Given the visual and haptical design, and all the ergonomical and practical shortcomings I can only say, that the SS-02 is a toy.

      @@twizzy8783There’s nothing special about this solder sucker, it’s a single o-ring pump that is simply too weak. Save your money and buy a double o-ring pump such as the Pro’skit 8PK-366NA and your own silicone tubing.

    I must admit I was expecting a bit more from.this tool. It looks like the TH-cam algorithm sent me here cos I just bought one of these off Amazon. I hope it works out better than this demo - and I have seen it work well on other videos. Based on other comments it seems some solders are plain hard to get rid of - maybe I will be lucky but this could be going back to Amazon without opening.

    It's the solder sucker that doesn't suck!

    The hakko fr02 is unaffordable. Would this be a good option for replacing over 100 capacitors on some vintage stereo components with delicate ring pads that lift easy ?

      It's often said that desoldering stations where the better alternative to manual pumps when desoldering a lot of components in a row. But I don't feel like this, because from my experience you will spend a lot of time clearing and unclogging the desoldering iron. So I use the desoldering station only for hard to desolder things, like very old double-sided0through-hole and such.

    how do you eject the sucked solder?

    • @Altered-Stigma
      @Altered-Stigma 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually you can eject the sucked solder by resetting the solder sucker. However, after a while, if you use it a lot, you will need to removed the tip end (by unscrewing it counter clockwise, careful there’s slight spring pressure) and clean the inside by dumping the contents and using a cloth to wipe it down. Then apply a little silicone based lubricant before reassembly.

    La punta del cautín que estás utilizando no es la correcta amigo, estás tapándole todo a el succionador, además que lo estás usando mal doblando la punta de silicón no va a agarrar nada.

    Over time these lose their suction, so you need to know how to clean it, ive done a lil video to show the best way. th-cam.com/video/HC7OjG_Ckjo/w-d-xo.html

    3:48 desoldering without adding some flux? based by soldering material on that PCB, it's contain more tin than lead, that why this review gone bad
    tin is hard to melt when no flux when soldering
