Fireworks at the festa of San Giovanni Battista. Veglie, Puglia, Italy

San Giovanni Battista also known as John the Baptist was said to have baptised Jesus in the river Jordan.
He is the patron Saint of Veglie, the protector of the town.
Every year there is a 3 day celebration including the procession of San Giovanni, traditional music, lights and of course the fireworks.
