Alright i go to this school and the gasp at the end of the muster was cut off, you could practically hear the entire block yelling and what happened was a whole bunch of us seniors (10-12) wrote complaints to our principal about her choice of words. It wasn't that bad she should've just apologised. What pissed us the most was the fact that she called an assembly said she wouldn't apologise for what she said, she brought gender identity "issues" into this and sexualised both female students and male teachers. The male teachers at our school are one of the best teachers ever, we got rid of the creepy ones, and the embarrassment and shock they had on their faces where truly horrible. I am not saying our principal deserves the death threats and all but this needs to be in the media because this is a serious issue and needs to be addressed ASAP. Stop blaming this on the students, its not our fault, we understand the dress code and most of us stick by it. It was outrageous how she kept referring some students clothing style to strippers. Stop blaming the students.

Well, like it or not, lass, human sexuality is a fact of life that has to be managed such as it is. Your head mistress merely acted to head off a potential problem and I can't understand why you're all eating her alive over it. It's for your protection. You may not be able to see a problem with the way you're dressed (this is not an uncommon disagreement between youths and their elders), but she does. You might at least give her some respect for that. Instead you've sicced a whole phalanx of "woke" nasties on this poor woman who was only looking out for you. Nicely bloody done.

@@ployogroos Damn, I'm sick of these confounded YT censors! When are you going to get it through your head that 99,9% of the male population is not interested in sexually assaulting you? Just because a fella doesn't abuse you doesn't mean that you haven't provoked disgust or lust in him by dressing provocatively. That is what I'm getting at. But that just doesn't seem to register with you, that's the man's problem. What I want to know is why girls feel the need to do that to men? Other than the most likely theory that they simply enjoy the feeling of power that commanding those kinds of emotions in men gives them over those men. And then you blame them for those feelings, claiming your "freedom" to do what you please. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
You're coming into the adult world now, sexuality is a function of the human condition. Deal with it, stop blaming other people for it and don't use it as a weapon against others. That is simply cruel.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about what we were wearing at the swimming carnival. The ONLY swimsuits that were worn was one pieces. The people wearing free dress/mufti were NOT wearing revealing clothes. We understand there is a dress code and we respect that, but in our note it was only said that we had to wear our house colours. Nothing was written about having to cover our shoulders. The thing we are all angry and uncomfortable about is that she was victim blaming us saying that we shouldn’t compromise male teachers employment. Ok so i've been reading the comments and apparantly people seem to think that the students came to school in g-strings and all. No. None of them have. To swim we have to wear a one piece, and on top of girls some girls wore jeans "ripped up clothing" with little tears, or shorts that literally take up 1/3 of your thigh (the normal ones). Some girls wore a short top since it was 35 degrees celsius that day but none where "stripper clothing" like she makes it seem like. There were year 12's who wore more revealing clothing but that's because they do a parade where they can dress up as disney characters. Stop thinking that us girls are comfortable enough to come to school in "stripper clothes", because society already makes us uncomfrtable and her speech even more. The principal was clearly responding to a problem she was made aware of, and I'm sure she meant exactly what she said. If the girls at Cheltenham are unable to dress themselves appropriately, then they need guidance. If they think there is some kind of "empowerment" issue here, where they are somehow entitled to dress provocatively without consequence, then they need guidance. If the NSW Education Department thinks encouraging young girls to dress like sluts is empowering then THEY need guidance. At no point do the boys ever hear a message from staff that the clothing they are wearing might be distracting the staff, putting staff jobs in danger and/or encouraging/inviting harm (to themselves or staff).
It is devastating to read through the comments on this video, from the 'well-meaning' cries for girls to dress 'appropriately' and 'accept the reality of the world' to the barrage of comments calling them brats, sluts, whores and 'asking for it.'
Sexual assault is not caused by clothing choice. My moral compass is not re-directed when the students at my school change from their formal uniforms into their speedos. Decent adults do not suddenly become confused about what does and does not constitute appropriate behaviour based on the clothing of another (particularly a child).

She seems to think that members of her male staff are so immoral and weak-willed that they might commit an act that would cause them to lose their job based on what a student is wearing and worse, she is implying that if that happened, the student would bear some fault!
As for insight and empathy for male teachers, it was a male colleague who first informed me about this story. He was disgusted by this principal's remarks. I have spoken to many teachers (both male and female) since this story broke and I have not found one that thinks the principal's statement was appropriate. I know many exceptional male teachers and not one has mentioned how tough it is for men teaching teenage girls, they have all expressed concern about the message that is being conveyed to the Cheltenham girls.
I know well the challenges teachers (both male and female) face working with teenagers (both male and female) but we are the adults in the room and conveying the message to children that they might have some hand in an adult doing something inappropriate/illegal to them, that they might invite it based on what they're wearing, is atrocious and wrong.

Mate, ever seen adolescents get on public transport with next to nothing on??? It's not cute or an expression of independence or burgeoning maturity. It's display and sadly there are cretins out there who abuse these girls innocence and nativity. The only fault with perving on these kids lies with the predators. But be honest.... Seeing young people with their most personal areas so blatantly on display would make anyone whose sexuality isn't orientated towards age inappropriate choices uncomfortable.
I've intervened viciously on a couple of occasions when foul predators have harassed girls wearing clothes that magnify their femaleness. I never for a moment thought the girls were to blame (just young and stupid) but I KNEW the men were putrid so the girls needed protection. That's life. Adults should protect these kids from the small percentage of degenerates. So my hat is off to the principal. Some people moan that she's a woman, presumably she should be more liberal minded about this. Well it tends to be females who are sexually assaulted and harassed. Not because they deliberately entice but because with some scumbags they know young people are vulnerable, impressionable, naive and easily at risk of being harmed.
I dealt with sex offenders for 17 years and it takes next to nothing for them to focus on someone who is calculated prey. The principal just alluded to a great filthy fact out there..... That some people are predators and she didn't want anyone perceiving any child as an opportunity for abuse.
      Pretty basic stuff.

The female principle is sick. She is blaming underage girls as if they would be the cause if male teachers are provoked. It is the male teachers who should be able to consider the girls as kids to teach only; if not, in the wrong jobs.
Worst of all is her attitude. She could have made a mistake and not articulate enough, but when issues are raised, she should have contemplated and apologised; isn't that what they teach at schools anyway? She is not at all calm down but even a bit angry at the girls. Some teachers think they are above students. No! You are just being paid to teach and guide. Older does NOT mean wiser. If no recordings existed, only the girls would have been blamed and accused!
And the female principle did a wrong thing to the male teachers too. It is very possible that they never have sexualised the girls but she popped the possibility and could have sparked the thought. And some girls may have realised for the first time that their male teachers could look at them as a woman. Disgusting!
We had a news a while ago that a particular religious leader in Australia said that women were virtually responsible for sexual assaults only because he thought women were asking for it if they were wearing shorter than the clothing covering their entire bodies including hijabs. That made everyone upset because he was pointing fingers to victims and their freedom, rather than the offenders.
Likewise, this female principle telling the girls that they could jeopardise male teachers' jobs is really revolting. Makes me sick. She is virtually saying that naked women on the beach are asking for it. Insane!
You look old enough with no wisdom and have serious attitude issues with anger management need. RETIRE!!!

I've made some comments against some who think the principal was out of hand.
I note BLUE ALAPACA's remarks. It seems they're a student at the school and provide a good overview of what the girls wear as well as reaction to all this.
What is most important, I now accept, here is the girls' impressions of this event. Blue alpaca provides an insight regarding their experience, and one that, despite my criticisms of PC rumblings against the principal, has forced me to appreciate and value the experiences of the students, given blue alpaca is probably representative of many at the school. I still hold that the principal believed she was offering supportive and protective advice. However, she should have understood her audience better and avoided any possible interpretation made that could inadvertently shift blame towards the girls. Or male teachers for that matter.
So blue alpaca thank you for giving your impressions. But it highlights how careful we adults need to be when expressing concerns about predation to teenagers. So easily misconstrued or even excessive placed. At least this has provoked some valuable discussion about potential abuse and it's comforting to see so many people PROTECTIVE of pupils. Despite many of us being polarised about what the teacher actually meant or should have stated etc etc, the salient feature here is adults' respect for and protectiveness of young people. And again, blue alpaca, thank you for giving an essential backdrop to this discussion and affecting my judgement.

The principal was not saying that overexposed teen girls will cause the male staff to prey on them. The principal was giving them a lesson in understanding the male mind: men can get confused and intimidated when they see an scantily clad girl, and it is not because they are predators, it just confuses them, and it’s not a nice, pleasant situation for males to experience - there’s really no words to accurately describe this.
The principal was simply saying male teachers are human, too, and it’s sad that these girls’ ignorant parents didn’t teach them any better. Sounds like this is a rough school, and potential problems were arising, and I’m glad the principal addressed this.

A lot of the times the principal gets feedback from the other staff on what needs to be addressed. So if the Male teachers were the ones telling the principal that they couldn’t focus because of the girls clothing...wouldn’t it be more appropriate for the principal to then question why the certain teacher feels that way? Because from the reports I’ve seen from the students at that school, it has been stated that there were little to no cleavage shown and that students were wearing one piece bathing suits and tops because of how hot it was (35). I’m all for covering up and looking more modest but from all the information I’ve gathered on this case, I’m more worried about the type of staff they’ve hired. They should really look into the male teachers more than tell the students they should cover up more because the male teachers can’t focus 🤮🤮🤮 (I’m a Muslim btw, modesty and covering up is important to me but this case is gross). Why? Because the principal touched on an uncomfortable truth? It is a foolish generation that claims sexuality when it suits them, then acts incredulous when that sexuality manifests itself in ways that are distinctly unpleasant. And when a responsible person (like this head mistress) acts to remove potential temptation and potential disaster, she gets pilloried for it. Do you think it's any different in other schools? Sexuality is a terrifically strong force acting on many levels of consciousness. To reckon on a certain cadre of people being entirely immune to it for professional reasons while allowing another cadre of people to act out on it virtually without limit is to invite trouble. That danger doesn't disappear because you all collectively agreed that it doesn't exist "amongst us". Nor does it necessarily appear when somebody draws attention to it's general existence. I wish people would grow up and learn to understand and work around human weakness better, in others as well as themselves.

Are there unstudied medical disorders where predators, seemingly normal, actually can't control themselves under certain triggers? (and how should they be dealt with) What are the actual experiences of male teachers in girl schools (I know someone who quit because he was having innapropriate dreams but would never admit it openly). If a male teacher reports that a student is actively flirting with him/her(this happens) should he/she fear being a suspect? I'm not suggesting anything but these questions need to be raised.

School is preparation for future working life for young women. Unless a woman is off to work as a stripper or similar job that calls for skimpy sexy etc attire, it would be unacceptable to rock up to some typical normal workplace eg an office dressed in skimpy inappropriately sexually suggestive attire because it would raise the obvious question: Is she good at anything other than just sex? And what modern smart woman would like to be perceived as "only good for sex"? So why dress in a way that gives out such a wrong message? Like it or not, you will always be judged on how you look, even though this seems unfair. It's just the way life is. There 8s nothing wrong with gales or even men looking sexy or dressing scantily to show off their beauty, feel good etc. But there is a right time and place to wear certain looks and also a very inappropriate one eg the normal classroom for schoolgirls. Out swimming or doing sports etc it would be appropriate to dress in skimpy shorts etc because of the activities involved that require shorts or short skirts etc. Of course such problems would not arise if schools had a strict uniform even for sports and swimming attire, like government schools used to have. You were required to always wear correct uniform and girls' skirt length was measured by being made to kneel and if the hem was did not touch the ground it was too short and you were sent home to have it lengthened. It solved many disputes. Shorts and sports uniforms also had certain length rules and only one piece bathers, with no high cut legs or low cut fronts or "thong" type backsides were allowed. And there were also strict rules for boys uniforms eg no tight trousers or certain types of swimwear, just boring old Speedos. And not skimpy, revealing, low cut etc. This rule was introduced after a good sideways photo was taken of a champion boy swimmer about to dive off a high dive board during school sports at the local pool in his skimpy shiny tight swimwear, showing a certain excited part of his developing male anatomy as he was about to dive off with his magnificent physique everybody admired. It was a source of great ridicule, amusement and shock in the community, depending on whatever moral stance people took or if they had a sense of humour or not. . But what our excellent teachers focussed on was not the morality issue , but how embarrassing this was for the champion boy, who lost all confidence after that incident and didn't want to compete again because he felt so embarrassed by that photo circulating around a small rural Aussie community. But, when the new rules about proper swimming uniform were enforced, he gradually regained his former athletic confidence, because all boys looked the same and nobody and nothing could "stick out" under the new sorts of male swimwear, though the girls though it was "dorky" because the bathers had this flap part at the front, like girls' bathers, too, that his outline of genitalia when bathers were wet and no clingy sh8 y fabric was allowed any more. Similar general uniform rules also helped girls lacking in confidence to feel OK, because everybody was dressed the same and it did not highlight big developing breasts or no breasts, fat butts and other things girls felt self conscious about. It equalised everybody. Every now and then there was a "uniform free day" eg last day of term, when kids could dress sexy or in more skimpy clothes that were not obscenely so. Provided it offended nobody and they got on with their school work and didn't get distracted by how others looked, though this was very hard when you saw your latest crush looking so sexy out of uniform and it was impossible to stop trying to get a glimpse of them and just keep your eyes on your books, as teachers ordered kids to do. School uniforms in government schools have a very important function to play, much as kids hated them. They enable all kids, including very deprived ones from poor families, to feel equal to the next kid, from a middle class family. It gives a much needed feeling of "equal opportunity for all" ie nobody is more important or more special than the next kid. Which is how it should be. If parents want to be elitist, then they can take their kids out of the government schools and send them to exclusive private schools , where they can feel superior. Though most good private schools discourage such snobbery and elitist behaviour, even though they are very exclusive educational institutions, I found..There's a good reason to bring back strict uniform for kids in government schools. It should be simple but practical, easy care but very smart and strict, preferably more modern and comfortable to wear. And no variations. Just a skirt or slacks or knee length shorts, just one colour of tights or socks, same style and colour of practical, comfortable everyday leather type shoes, lace ups or boots or Mary Janes, no sports runners, other than with sports uniform. Have a woven cotton type top (no T shirts) and a jumper and jacket or windcheater with school colours, badges etc and optional matching sunhats, woolly winter caps , scarves, gloves etc in cold southern areas. Boys can wear a tie in school colours for formal occasions and girls can have a similar fine decorative silk type scary with school colours, emblem etc. No jewellery or tattoed or bright hair colours, extreme hair styles etc with school uniform. They can wear these fashions on weekends. School is a school kid's equivalent of the workplace for adults. It is to prepare them for work and do it must begin to teach kids the sorts of behaviours, image etc that will be expected by future employers, to prepare them. It is simply 7nfair on kids for adults like teachers and parents to let th do as they wish during their school years and then suddenly expect them to know how 5o look and behave as expected by 6je adult world in workplaces etc. When nobody prepared them for this sudden shock, this sudden change. Is it any wonder they make such crap employees, though they often have good intentions and want to please employers. They just have no idea because nobody taught them properly.

If you’re feeling uncomfortable that’s really on you isn’t it. It’s not some 14 year old girl who’s wearing shorts fault is it, since she is a child.

@@bslisko7182 , so because they’re a child they can do what they want? What if the Male students walk around flashing their sanga’s to the female teachers?

@@playwme3 I went to an all boys school and a mixed school during year 12. We had swim carnivals in front of female teachers in speedos sort of what you are saying.
But yes a child is a child and if you dont see them as a child I think the issue is with yourself if you see them in any sexual sort of way.

See, you guys aren’t getting it, and obviously neither are plenty others. I’m not saying that my discomfort is caused because i look at these children in a sexual way. I’m saying that because of the scrutiny put on everyone these days, there’s a lot at risk when it comes to being a male in this situation. I’m saying that the Principal in question didn’t say anything particularly outrageous, and there’s nothing wrong with asking for a bit of modesty.

Excellent story. Thanks for giving this air time. Girls should never be taught it's their fault if teachers break professional boundaries.

They should also be taught not to invite people to break boundaries. It's a two way street.

@@bluealpaca5665 Maybe you can teach females that males aren't sexual objects to be seduced either, then we can all live in our mutually exclusive bubble. Human biological makeup simply won't permit that to happen, so you can dream on. Facts of life, girl. The female body is attractive to men, just as the male body is to females. There is nothing to be done about that, except to manage it for the wellbeing of society. If that means, in part, men and women dressing in such a way as to leave a bit more to the imagination, then so be it.

@@Alex462047 I'm not saying just males. but in case you haven't noticed its mainly females who are attacked and assaulted not men. I agree with what u are saying though and women should also treat men like humans. they shouldn't be attacked for what they wear. Besides the most revealing thing that a student wore was a crop top and ripped jeans. So if this is considered inviting invitation then i guess women should just wear baggy hoodies and pants. but ig i cant blame you because you weren't there and don't have the full audio.

Dress in the way that you want people to see you. If you dress to attract male attention, then don't complain when you get it. It's that simple.
