Yeah, we need a sheriff! I have peeled many cards, those were literally the easiest to peel. Some are really hard to get the peel started from the corner. The film is annoying to me and takes away from the card. Thanks for watching Saul.
Thanks Josh. I believe that is the only pre rookie card I have of Larry. He may have more, but haven’t looked into it. Thanks for hanging out my friend.
Steeeve! Baseball was still good when Larry Walker played. When was the switch? I think it was the start of moneyball and when every pitcher was trying to throw 100 mph. Like when Aroldis Chapman came in the league. Thanks for stopping by and catch you in the chat.
Nice thoughts about taking care of some of the bad in the hobby. Nice Walker collection, Dustin would be so happy to see you peel off the protective cover. Good stuff.
I enjoy the look of the card, so the protective film has to go. I appreciate that I can still buy cards with the film, but when they reach my collection, it is likely to stay forever and will be well protected without the film. Dustin and I are on the same page with this. Thanks for watching.
Ken, great ideas for the contest. Walker was one of the most gifted players of his era that's for sure. Guy could do it all! And he does have some great cards throughout his career. Anybody flashing all that talent while rocking a mullet knows himself how good he is, lol!
Sammmmy! Good to hear from you my friend! Hope things are well with you. Larry didn’t get a lot of the accolades playing in Colorado and Montreal early in his career. Was glad to see him make it to the hall! Thanks for stopping by my friend.
Drew, how are you doing my friend? The late 90’s and early 2000’s cards were very innovative. Trying different technologies was cool. Sometimes they worked and other times they didn’t. A for effort. I appreciate you stopping by.
Very interesting intro. The Pinnacle gold Walker card looks stunning. The Bowmans best reminds me of OPC Platinum Violet Pixels in hokcey (only yellow instead of violet).
Do you know John Mangini? He’s passionate about the sports card collecting hobby. He has great cards and entertaining videos. Those early Bowman cards were early precursors to the cards we see today with sparkles and shine. Upper Deck still uses the dufex technology like Pinnacle did back then. Thanks for tuning in.
That Bowman Best is such a great looking card. I can’t bring myself to peel the plastic off cards. Looks really nice with it off though. Great display of cards Ken. Talk to you soon.
When it comes to cards in my collection it is about how they look and the protective film annoys me. Therefore, off it goes. I am being pretty picky about the cards I buy these days. In I don’t like the photo, I am not buying it. Thanks for watching Greg, catch you in the chat.
Gave a video like. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts on what you would like to change in the hobby. Love that Production Line power index card with the stars all over it. That is a stunner! Love the Flair Showcase cards too. Great pick-ups! Thanks for sharing, Ken
I thought these cards were all beauties and great examples of the variety of card companies making cards in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Would be great to see competition again. Thanks for watching Brian.
Scammers are having a field day on the Facebook, it's sad...the new META world. Larry Walker is underrated, for sure, nice haul. Didn't know he was Canadien, eh? I didn't! 😄
I believe it with Facebook. I try to stick to buying cards in person at shows and from eBay. People were trying to scam when I was trying to sell furniture on Facebook marketplace. I would mess with them and string them along. I don’t think I have ever bought a card from Facebook marketplace, other than a collection I want to pick up in person. I have bought cards from other TH-cam community people, which has worked out good. Thanks for stopping by Rolf.
@ yeah, if you post anything on FB Marketplace, generally the first three responses you get are from scammers. Lately eBay has seen a rash of scams, my local card shop got hit, and the Canadian post seems to be an issue with shipments getting stolen. I wish we had some card shows locally like we used to.
Some outstanding Walkers and very satisfying to see you rip those peels (since I can’t make myself do it to the ones I have). Love your thoughts on what you would do and I agree absolutely. 👊🏻⚾️🏒
Yes, for me it is how the card looks and having the protective film on the card doesn’t do it for me. I peel it every time. Sometimes it says peel off. You can do it too! I do like that I can still find cards to peel off, because I know it was protected all these years and in better shape. However, my cards will be protected in my collection and they’re likely never going anywhere. The variety of cards back in the day were so creative. Thanks for watching David, catch you in the chat.
Fanatics taking over the sports card hobby as they have, it feels like someone should be looking at a Anti-Trust case. I wasn't aware of Ted Williams son and his antics. Interesting. The card with Walker's stats on the back against each team is pretty cool concept.
Maybe people will get frustrated with them and Fanatics will implode. Ted’s son (John Henry) from what I have read was not liked by many people and was always taking advantage of Ted. Then he got the crazy idea to have Ted frozen in cryogenics. Ted stated many times that he wanted to be cremated and have his ashes spread into deep water near the Florida Keys. Thanks for watching Drew.
Tony, they may have. I haven’t read a book about DiMaggio, but I will probably do that next year. It is apparently hard for people to resist easy ways to make a quick buck these days. I prefer to get my autographs in person. Who knows what is forged these days. Thanks for watching my friend.
Did you make it to Toronto last week? If you were the hobby president would you get rid of fanatics and tell everybody you will contiue your sport? nice 1997 Larry Walker Bowmans best , nice Todd Helton , nice 1997 collectors choice Larry Walker , 1998 , nice Donruss prefered , Bowmans best , lots and lots of nice cards. If I was president I would get rid of the heritage desighns like you have 1975 but then you have players from today you now have Blue Jay cards Diamond backs and it looks awfull 2023 or so on the older designs? gotta go I also don't like the Rc on the cards open up a Beckett and look at the price and it will tell you if it's a Rookie!!!! I I would go back and have each players that win awards like Homerun 2 for each league not the way they do things today? I would go back and tell hotels in every area on certain night's there will be a show say from 5:00 to 8 at least once a month? I would go back and have a set so for cards say 475 to 580 of each year they would come out in August and have less distrubtions like in 1967 there was Norm Cash , Jc Martin , Rocky Colivito , Jim Palmer and Mike Shannon. so for today it would be like Volpe, Paul Goldschmidt , Rafiel Devours also some no names these would be the high numbers. so the begining of the set would come out in April cards number 1 that would go up to dependupon how many cards make a set would start at around 470 or so and they would have less printed. so the regular set would have 9 million cards come out in April the cards starting at 470 would have around the US and Canada 400,000 copies?
I did not go to Toronto last week, I was planning on going to the spring show in 2025. Maybe Fanatics will expand too fast and implode? I’m actually a fan of the Heritage brand that plays homage to the older card designs. As a Rockies fan, they didn’t have a team back then, so it is nice to see what their cards would look like. As collectors we can buy whatever product lines we like. America 🇺🇸 has choices. I don’t buy the products I don’t like. I like your idea of Topps flagship release. They currently have series 1 and series 2 which usually picks up the players in their new uniforms if they switched teams in the off season and the Update series that has mostly all rookies. The update series is definitely less printed, because they don’t get included in the factory sets. I also agree that the Rookie card logo should be removed from the card. Let the hobby decide which card is the rookie card. That would be a great debate every year. Do people still buy Beckett Price Guides? I think they’re good for cards that are more than 10 years old, but not very useful for modern cards where the price changes can change on the outcome of one game these days. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mark.
Love the Sheriff idea! Awesome Walker cards, that’s the first time I’ve seen someone peel off the coating. Pretty cool!
Yeah, we need a sheriff! I have peeled many cards, those were literally the easiest to peel. Some are really hard to get the peel started from the corner. The film is annoying to me and takes away from the card. Thanks for watching Saul.
Great stuff Ken! Love the Walkers! And yes, away with the peel!!
Yes! Away with the peel. Thanks for watching Brent.
Ha! the intro was awesome 🤣 Love the Walker pickups, especially that last Procards w/blue border. Nicely done!
Thanks Josh. I believe that is the only pre rookie card I have of Larry. He may have more, but haven’t looked into it. Thanks for hanging out my friend.
Good idea's for the President elect. Loved the Larry Walker cards.
Thanks Scott. Great to add some Larry cards to the collection. He’s pretty affordable to collect.
Nice thouhts and always enjoy some larry walker. Thanks for sharing ken.

@kenscardboard Thats when I noticed a huge shift in pitching, IL, almost every MLB player started to bat .198 with 45 HRs. 🤣
Nice thoughts about taking care of some of the bad in the hobby. Nice Walker collection, Dustin would be so happy to see you peel off the protective cover. Good stuff.

Sick sick Walker cards Ken. There is no stated PR on the 97 BB Atomic

Didn’t DiMaggio’s kids forge his autograph late in his life too?
