- Hi Everyone, Kiln opening #7, Yay!! So, instead of doing a photo recap at the end I'm just listing the glaze combos in the order I pull the pieces out of the kiln. Not ideal (I will learn how to do time stamps soon) but I hope you enjoy and get something out of the video! It's a process but I am always trying to learn, grow, and evolve :)

1: Tumbler: Textured Turquoise (Amaco) x3 top half, Sorcerer's Stone (Mayco) x2 over that and Running Hot Chowder (Spectrum) at rim x1
2: Cup: Celery (Opulence) x3 with Honey Flux (Amaco) inside rim
3: Large Mug: Sangria (Spectrum) x2, Ancient Jasper (Amaco) x2 top half with Hot Chowder at rim
4: Large Bowl: Rootbeer (Coyote) x3 in bottom half, Sorcerer's Stone x2 top half, Seaweed and Lustrous jade (both Amaco) over Sorcerer's and Pearl White (Spectrum) on rim, Out is Sorcerer's x 2-3 half way down. then Lustrous Jade over x2 and Honey flux over all x2-3
5: Planter dish, Kimchi (Spectrum) x3
6: Geliplate mug: Various stroke and coat glazes
7: Geliplate tumbler: various S&C blues
8: Soap dispenser: Green Tea x2, Dark flux over x 2 and Cordovan x 2 over top 1/3 (All Mayco)
9: Girls Trip cups: looking back, I put 2 coats of Pearl White on all of these to half way down hence the runnage! #1-2 Fails..not bothering with glaze combos! #3 Audrey Lynn's combo: Unicorn Horn (Coyote) x2 Corvan x2 and Kimchi in x 2-3 on one mug w Honey flux over outside rim (my addition to the recipe). Inside is Honey flux over Unicorn Horn inside second mug. #4 Sarah Coleman's Rainbow technique using Jaded, moody blue, blue isle, rosey posey, tutu tango all randomly applied. Kimchi in x 3 and Honey flux on rim.
10: Oil bottle: Textured Turquoise (Amaco)x 3, Kimchi x 2 and Soft Red (Spectrum) at top
11: Peacock bowl: Blue Beard, Blue Isle, Bluegrass with Light Flux and Sandstone (all Mayco). Oyster x2 (Mayco) in very bottom of bowl.
12: Rainbow Bowl: Stroke and Coat Moody Blue, Raspberry Mist and Lavender Mist (Mayco) and Seaspray (Opulence), Pearl White outside under x 2
13: Large Bowl: Pearl White top outside x 2, Ancient Jasper (Amaco) x 2 at rim and Textured Turquoise over AJ x2. In is Honey Flux x3 with Ancient Jasper at rim and Pearl White over AJ.
14: Large Bowl: Honey Flux in x3 to half way down bowl. Sangria (Spectrum)x2 over that, Ancient Jasper x 2 over Sangria and Magical Mist (Western)x1 over all at rim. Inside is Magical Mist on rim with Honey Flux x3 over all.
15: Unicorn Horn x 2 and Cordovan over that x 2 and Kimchi x 2 inside
16: My signature favorite combo! Texture Autumn (Spectrum) x 2 outside with Seaspray (opulence), Sangria, Hot Chowder and Pearl White. Inside Kimchi x 2-3
17: Lidded Pot: Peppered Plum with Dark Flux (both Mayco)
18: Unicorn x 2 and Cordovan over that x 2 and Kimchi x 2 inside
19: Texture Autumn x 2 outside with Seaspray (opulence), Sangria, Hot Chowder and Pearl White. Inside Kimchi x 2-3
20: Gelliplate mug with random Stroke and coat glazes
21: Black Aventurine x 2-3 with Oatmeal (very thick) globbed on rim (both Amaco). In is BA x 3 with Honey Flux swirled in over.
22: Sourdough Baker: Pearl White inside x 2 with Seaweed at rim with Light Flux. Outside is a lot of things I painted on randomly: Stroke and Coats (blues and greens, don't remember which ones!), Celery and Honey Flux
23: Sorcerer's Stone in and out x 3 with Lustrous Jade and Seaweed both x 2 (nice combo but probably x1 for those is better for less running!) at rim.
Inside has seaweed and Ancient Iron (Coyote) and Light Flux at rim. - บันเทิง

I tried a slow cool firing and got supper shiny results and some of those longer leg effect! I’m commenting while watching!! I’m totally going to try the unicorn horn and cordovan!! LOVE IT!!
It might be the slow cool that’s part of it. I did use a lot of Pearl white too tho.. and YES! I’m obsessed with the unicorn combo😮

How crazy is that??!!! We must be cosmically connected or something! I believe ideas are like that though..they float around in the ether until someone plucks them out and does something with them🥰

Oh my goodness these are absolutely beautiful!! Love the rainbow bowl!!! And I just have to say that I LOVE YOUR HANDLES!! They are sooo perfect!!! If you notice the last bowl that plucked to your shelf it ran right where your handles were. They are all sooooo beautiful! I’d love to know the glaze combos.

It’s okay, live and learn but yeah..just putting all those holes was a thing!! It’s amazing how fails like this just propel me forward instead of devastating me these days…I can always just make more, and more

Thank you lovely one! I did write it in the notes for the video...hopefully? Let me look at my Pottery Notes and copy it real quick...oh wait...the first one! Ok lol...Ok, so...Pearl White x 2 to about 1/3 of the way down from the top, then I brushed on swipes of Smokey Merlot (Of course you love it! You are a smokey merlot girl ;), Passion Flower (Mayco), Raspberry Mist...then Honey flux in x 3 and out and over the rim to the outside to about 1 inch down...wish I could share a photo of the before. I think with maybe only one coat of Pearl White or maybe no pearl white under that it might not have run so much?

For your signature favorite combo, could you elaborate on exactly how you apply the glaze? You mentioned textured autumn, then do you put pearl white around the middle then sangria over that, then on the top do you seaspray first then RHC or RHC underneath the sea spray?? It's GORGEOUS and I want to try it!

I like your lampshade, even tho its oblong! From the way it warped maybe try making it out of 4 pieces instead of 2. Then it might shrink more evenly and keep its shape.
Oh! Thats a great Idea Amanda! I did think of making one with "panels" before I fired this one, so I will see what I can come up with! I think better smoothing of the seams has to be done too. And this was Frost, which is a tricky clay to begin with. I have another one to fire that I made with Laguna 16 so hopefully that one will work out. I won't get Frost 5 again, I was trying to use it up...too many S cracks on thrown pieces no matter how much I compress!

I loved your glaze results! The rainbow mugs are so awesome and I love the oblong lampshade, maybe you could still use it as is. Is it porcelain? Because I’ve had my share of oblong rim porcelain mugs unfortunately. I need to try the speckled clay, it’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing!❤
Yes, frost cone 5. I had a feeling I hadn’t worked the seams well enough! I’ll put it on the pendant socket and see how it hangs👍🏻.. thanks for the encouragement!

@@SoulHavenPottery-gt2gf I had a feeling it was. I’ve been using Frost for quite some time now but it warps really bad. It is a beautiful clay and translucent when thin. I’ve learned to accept when the mugs are not completely round when I use Frost. The colors of the painting you did look beautiful.💞
@@anasclayhouse I get so many S cracks with it tho...and it's the only clay that I over-compress when I throw it, and still...I have another shade that I need to glaze that I used the Laguna 16 for, so we will see if it is as translucent!

Frost is very finicky but when it works it’s beautiful. I never get S cracks with it, but I hear other people getting it as well. I do turn my mugs upside down as soon as I can and I usually trim before leather hard, because I alter and carve on it. Maybe that has something to do with it. The only problem I get occasionally is warping.
I love your glaze results!! ✨🤩Especially the kimchi and the honey flux. I tried out kimchi for the first time and the results were underwhelming. I’m not sure if it’s because of the clay I used, or because I fired too hot or the layers weren’t thick enough. May I ask how many layers you put on for your results? Thanks a lot for your wonderful videos !!✨🎉
Hi, thank you! so I usually will put at least 2-3 coats and I use a Mayco Fan brush...they are the best and will give you the best and most even application. When I apply glaze especially to the inside I will do it on my wheel so I can swirl it in. let each coat dry before you swirl in the next one so you will get the different colors because of the different thicknesses on the swirls that are left. Does that make sense? When I apply on the outside I use 2-3 coats as well. Try a fan brush and you might like the results better, you don't want any "dragging" when you are applying glaze, have your brush full enough to get good strokes and when you feel drag, fill the brush with glaze again and start brushing where you left off. I program my kiln for cone 5/6 and I've used porcelain, B Mix and now this Laguna 607 and Kimchi looks great on all of them :)

Hi Natalie! Thanks for watching..sometimes I wish I was less reserved lol! Yes green tea and cordovan , the green tea x2 is under the cordovan x2 on this one. I did a test tile once and it came out a stunning turquoise color on bmix but I think I put the green tea over the cordovan on the test tile!Didn’t quite get that here but still pretty😊
