I’m in the US and grew up on the sea side in New Jersey. We ate so much fresh fish. We used to go crabbing with our mom. She used smelly old chicken for bait and I hated putting the bait in the crab traps. But we always caught tons and would have a big crab boil, newspaper on our picnic table and we till we were full!
Many years ago I developed a deadly allergy to shellfish, it took me years to get over it. I do still miss it though.

New dinghy, first time out on the water.... A work in progress? She floats!! Gotta start somewhere!! Could do with a flat ramp (reverse of a kiddies toy slide) to help haul your pots over. I sprained my back just watching this..😂. Keep'em coming Smash!!!

Local name is a super dingy , basically it’s just a very wide 12ft long fiberglass boat , they are super stable for the size of them

Smash, cant you sell the spider crabs? Also, for that brown female lobster to stay around for breeding, do you have knotching laws as they do in Cornwall, UK. The fishlocker guy carrys a knotcher on board and notches many of the female lobsters to sustain the fishery, although he is a recreational fisherman. Meaning he can only keep two lobster per day.

Il have to ask sea fisheries but I believe I can , not that I always will to be honest as I want to preserve my foraging spots

I will be keeping stuff soon mate spiders are not worth much at all so I’m not fussed about them to be honest , I give them to family and friend if I get big ones
@@SMASHFISHING get a few prawn/shrimp pots for baiting those lines then have them suspended mid water for bass around rocks. are you allowed to land bass over there ? here we as recreational are only allowed 2 per person

Pretty sure you killed the larry that was molting. He was fish food by the time he hit bottom. Lobsters, crabs, etc. are quite disabled when actually molting. Maybe should have left him in the pot and put it back down that way.
That’s false , it’s completely soft with a bunch of spidercrabs in it , the lobster holes one side were they’ve tried to eat it
