listenning to it over and over again I cant get bored of it: new and new details come out. One thing I cant get used to is Land of Confusion - generally I do not understand the reason behind these covers on the orignal albums: so simple tunes, mere pop-songs, quite annoying among all the other tracks. Here one might feel even strongly how simple (eh... primitive) they are - I just dont get the reason behind it. (The same for "Shout", the U2 cover and even the Judas Priest tune: the most simple one...)
There may not be a reason other than Disturbed feeling the need to cover them. I can understand your dissatisfaction since they are not original although they have added their own syncopation. You can skip over them unless you're in the middle of a workout and its inconvenient xD
well its not the question of being "original", but being too simple, being boring. On all the other tracks its so interesting and entertaining to listen to the tiny details, the playfulness and richness of the drums, the variations played by the guitar, how they play against each other, etc - and on the covers: its just boring, very simple rhythm (4/4 always), very simple structure, the same tempo all along: its just POP. (yes I usually ski them :-) )
