I've had my Pliage for 15 years & just bought another one (love them). The assistant looked at my old one & said it was in very good condition; there are small holes at the bottom due to wear & tear as I use it every day. They said I could leave it with them & it would be repaired for free. On seeing your entertaining video though, I will attempt to do this myself. Thank you for 15 mins of laughter which I needed today.
I’ve done this to several of my bags, but you’re much more entertaining about it than I. Watched for the sewing, subscribed for the humor. Outstanding.
Thanks so much. It gave me something to do over lock down. Think I might make a few more. Have you seen the coach swagger with the teapot. Personal favourite, skip to the end, I was learning to edit. So glad it made you smile. 😎
You are really a beautiful soul doing this. Costumer service should be free for life time and not once. All my Long Champs bags (I have 2 Le Pliage and 1 Neo bought in the Long Champ shop)are the edges broken because no lining inside. My Mother has a traveling bag made in the 80's and it is doing well but since Long Champ reproduced this bags very cheap in China they broke very easily. Long Champ should be a-shamed !
they do repair when they can but once the hole gets too big they can't, but you can have a go. agree about quality. I have purchased these bags since they came out. but even then I wore them out. you take care x
Excellent idea. I just bought one from a charity shop with crocodile print fabric. I will try and do quite a fine seam not as wide yours. I think I'll leave it in to ensure bag stays authentic. You are hilarious btw 😂
I'm a stay at home mom and currently in the middle east where I don't go out unless husband is available. Sometimes I wear my bag at home 😆 few times my children caught me when I opened the door for them coming from school, I didn't think they noticed it but when I came out of my room both of them ask why I didn't have my bag with me 🤣I laughed so hard, they even told their father it was a longchamp week for me.
I know I'm late to this video! Great explanation and humor 😄 I'm wondering... Why not just sew the corners each in a small triangle so a lesser amount is lost to seam allowance?
yes not a hard job and it is only what longchamp do if you take it for a repair. To be fair Longhamp are fab at repairing bags. Hey what can go wrong? Let me know how you get on. 😀
I just purchased a preloved Longchamp that needs corner repair. Wish I knew how to sew 🪡 🤦♀️😭😂 I’m going to see if someone can fix it 😊 thanks for sharing!
Someone could make a fortune if they invent some corner protectors for these bags. Better yet, Longchamp should sew in some extra corner protectors in the first place and problem solved!
yes the Neo is superior nylon fabric which should last longer. and the Oxford has corners in their travel section. I am interested to see how their recycled fabric wears. x
Thanks for this, surprised when I just went to change bags and noticed light peeking through the bottom! I’ll try this one day if adding a little glue or something doesn’t work. Shame we have to do this, I have a new one never used and the Neo I was just switching over from. My airport buys! Know Longchamp does one free repair, what exactly would they do different I wonder? Anyway, great video, good sewing!
Hi there, love your video! Definitely going to try this with my Pliage bags, as they all have this issue unfortunately. I have a little request for you. Would you mind sharing with me the last 3 digits of the bottom row of numbers on the tag on the inside of your bag. These 3 digits, as you probably already know, indicate the exact colour. I'm 99% sure I have the exact same bag as you and I am looking for the matching smaller and larger bags, but somehow the numbers on my tag have vanished overtime. Thanks in advance!
Hi Dunya, I have just got the bag out from storage and it too has no code. The entire code has been rubbed off. The bag is about 12- 15 years old and the tag is transparent plastic, it that helps. So sorry I can't help any more with you question. Longchamp come out with very many similar colours each year it is hard to keep track, I suppose there are only 7 colours and they have to keep, almost, repeating the same ones. I have often thought that Longchamp fund their entire company with the sale of the nylon Pliage. Enjoy your bags
@@bagcollectionlondon Thanks for your reply! Yes, the colours are so similar: every couple of seasons there's a type of turquoise, but it's never an exact match! Indeed, I also think that the Pliage series makes up a big part of their sales, if not the bulk of it!
This is useful. I had heard of this fix, but hadn’t yet had the courage to try it on my new-to-me Pliage. Thanks for the demo. What kind of bag liner do you use?
Thanks for subscribing. This fix really is very quick and easy. Longchamp will also fix it for free for you if the hole is small. I either make the liner or buy handbag Angels. The good thing about making them is it is super cheap and you can put pockets the size you need where you want them. You can pick up a large sheet of the thick felt fit about £$10. It is really easy to see on a machine. And extremely satisfying once you start using it. Good luck. I would love to know how you get on with the repair.
Thank you so much. Took to my tailor and did it at no charge in 5 minutes. Thanks so much
you are welcome. How you enjoy your bag for many more years to come 👍

would you know if all branches offer the free repair? Im not so sure with my sewing skills 😂
yes so long as the hole can't fit a biro through it

@@bagcollectionlondon As a matter of fact, I did! Will the piano and exercise bike fit in it as well?

This is exactly what I needed and the laughs were a bonus. Thank you. PS your biking with Pliage skills are the best I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for the idea. I’m gonna try it and get the corners fixed👍🏻
OMG.. thanks a lot for the idea. i am gonna try it
Go for it. Saves buying a new bag. Thanks for watching x

You did a great job! I have a sewing machine and maybe I will try to fix my bag

Great job, thanks!
Glad you liked it! so easy to do, worth a wiggle if you have a sewing machine.

Hi, did you fix it? I'm going to buy a preloved one too and was wondering if it's an easy job for a professional sewer 😊
Someone could make a fortune if they invent some corner protectors for these bags. Better yet, Longchamp should sew in some extra corner protectors in the first place and problem solved!
If they did that people wouldnt replace their bags as often. So I guess it's a money spinner for them. But this is a fab hack which I'll be using.
I tried some repair glue before clicking on this video, I am curious to see how that works out

thanks for the comments. I think Longchamp would make a neater job, they would cut off the excess and tape the seam.
When you said your machine wasn't on fire 🤣🤣🤣

Great video. I have a small le pillage that has holes in the corners. I might take it to the store see if they can fix it. Thanks
please let me know how it works out. x
Yes they should do, but if the hole is too big then they can't do a good job and won't repair it. Easy enough to do your self if they won't do it.
It's silly that Longchamp won't fix the larger holes! Luckily mine has fared well so far, so I don't think I'll need to fix the corners for a while.

Можно было просто скруглить углы строчкой.
