Virgen De Los Remedios Canonical Coronation Anniversary

On September 08, the Capampangan Catholic faithful observed the Canonical Coronation Anniversary of Virgen de los Remedios - the principal patroness of Pampanga.
Thousands of devotees flocked to the Capitol Grounds to witness the re-enactment of the Canonical Coronation.
This year's theme is: "𝖪𝖺𝗅𝗎𝗉𝖺 𝗆𝗎𝗇𝗀 𝗆𝗂𝗄𝖺𝗉𝗇𝗎𝖺𝗇 𝗄𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝗀𝗋𝖺𝗌𝗒𝖺, 𝗌𝖺𝗎𝗉𝖺𝗇 𝗆𝗎 𝗄𝖺𝗆𝗂 𝗆𝗎 𝗇𝖺𝗆𝖺𝗇 𝗆𝖺𝗇𝗀𝖺𝗉𝗆𝗎𝗇𝗀 𝗀𝗋𝖺𝗌𝗒𝖺."

When the Second World War has ended, communism and socialism are spreading widely in the province of Pampanga.
Bishop Cesar Maria Guerrero the first Bishop of Pampanga founded a crusade to abolish communism and socialism in the province.
It was named Cruzada de Caridad y Buena Voluntad or Crusade of Charity and Goodwill, bringing an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Through the Cruzada, the rich people learned to help and give assistance to the less fortunate cabalens as they give "lamac" or relief goods.
The Cruzada was placed under the Patronage of the Virgen de los Remedios because that time, the province was in need of remedy.
In November 23 of 1954, the Cruzada de Caridad y Buena Voluntad was renamed to Cruzada de Penitencia y Caridad.
As a reminder that Mary, our mother leads us to her Son Jesus Chris, the image of the Santo Cristo Del Perdon was introduced in the Cruzada
to call for repentance among the people and to accompany the Virgin as they visited different towns and parishes in the province.
Numerous miracles and countless conversions were attributed to the Cruzada through the intercession of the Virgen de los Remedios.
Because of these miracles and the Kapampangan's deep devotion to their patroness, Bishop Guerrero requested that the image be canonically crowned.
Pope Pius XII was pleased to grant the image of the Blessed Mother, the Lady of Remedy a Canonical Coronation.
On September 8, 1956 thousands of devotees flocked in the provincial captiol of Pampanga to express their love and devotion to their beloved Indu. The Canonical Coronation was presided by the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Vagnozzi.
This year, we are celebrating the 67th Canonical Coronation Anniversary of our Beloved Patroness.
