Well I have been able to buy some figures on eBay and I have to agree that some prices are to expensive, I’m gonna start with Kai’s source dragon battle and young dragon Riyu, and maybe Arin’s buggy if I can immediately. Then the Dragon Shrine if I can, if not then like I said you could buy some minifigures from eBay, that’s what I do part of the time and sometimes make mini scale versions of some big Ninjago sets.
My birthday is coming up, and I had to decide between these sets which ones I wanted. This video's probably made it clear to me: I'll get the Shadow Dojo, Riyu, Lloyd's mech and maybe Sora's mech from last wave as I missed out on that one, and get the climber mech myself. I'll wait on the buggy and Dragonstone Shrine until clearance, or even get the shrine later on (I'll likely get a job this summer after exams), but depending on the summer wave I'll have to wait and see.
yup I really want that tournament city set but i only have like €50... But I thought that that set would come out in June and in June is my BD, so probably I only willget the lloyd mech Ii already bought the Riyu one
@@zaney2172 in my country the magazine is €6,50 and the magazine is €19,99. 6,50 x 3 = €19,50. So the Lloyd mech would be a better deal for me then the magazines.
The first set I am getting is Kai’s Climber Mech, it just looks super cool, has great play features and I really don’t want to have to get the 4+ set for Wyldfire.
Lego seems to release an amazing ninjago temple every year. . Melopia temple-2021 . Ninja dojo temple-2022 . Energy core temple-2023 . Blood moon temple - 2024 The blood moon shadow temple is probably the best set of the wave and would look good with the other temples. Great minifigure selection too.
Young riyu is easily the best valued set of this wave, presumably $2 for each minifig (one of which has an exclusive hair piece btw) and $10 for the build itself. Everything else is skippable. Most of those figures will be included in magazines anyway.
EARLY!! im planning on buying riyu and the lloyd mech day 1 because i skipped out on egalt last wave, and the shadow dojo along the way. Edit: I bought the dragon stone shrine instead of the shadow dojo because i found the build on that one so much better, and the stulpture is gorgeous in general and the figures are great too, i love the new golden wu figure and euphrasia is amazing to get and completes the figures of the newer young generation of elemental masters. Edit #2: I actually got the Climber Lloyd and Kai figures from the shadow dojo in the new magazines, so I don't feel any regret at all with my choice because I got the climber suits anyway haha
You did forget something. In order to get every ninja, you would also need to get the riyu set as sora counts as a ninja now and she's only in a single set despite being one of the main characters
I will for sure buy the lloyd mech and riyu as soon as i can. The others im saving for later this year. I am saving up for the dungeons and dragons set
For me it's going to be the dragon stone shrine and the 4+ fire dragon. I'm interested in the teen Ryu too, but I'll wait to see if he and Sora's new hair will appear in the next wave. Maybe the shadow dojo if it gets a deep discount, because even though I like some elements of it it's really just a facade.
Ok I think I know why they held back the Lloyd mech. I got Egalt and it has the same three minifigs. They probably wanted them exclusive to a more expensive set before making them so much easier to get instead.
The timeline of this wave is very wacky in “arin’s buggy” Riyu is still a baby but in “young dragon Riyu” he’s older and in the “Lloyd mech” both Lloyd and Nya are still in their mech suits but in all the other sets they have the climber suits
Now the question is how will the magazine handle the amount of figures because as of now were still getting last years figures and in this year we're getting at least 22 unique ninja minifigures if not more. That's nearly two years worth of magazines.
The only reason I would get a Lego Set is for the minifigers, I really wanna collect all of the ninja So here is my plan: Arin's buggy-Cole Kai's mech-Jay Shadow Dojo-Zane, Lloyd, Nya and Kai + the three main villans
Wolf Mask Shadow Dojo + Riyu is the best choice. Because Arins buggy looks pretty mid and overpriced, and the 4+ set isn't the most detailed, Climber mech is overpriced. Lloyd's mech isn't canon, stone shrine looks cool, but doesn't really play a important role. But Riyu looks so cool, and when you buy wolf mask shadow dojo with Riyu, you technically get all the ninja, except for cole.
That's what I was gonna do to get all the climber suits , but for now I am just gonna get the Dojo and then maybe get those other sets or get the minifigures individually from bricklink
Getting some climber suits in magazines may be possible but I don’t think they will put all of the climber suites in magazines... maybe we can only get climber Kai in magazine... I guess? Something even worse is we are getting those climber suits with only hairpiece and without the armor piece and hoodie... I hope this is not going to happen
I agree with your verdict. The price on that dragon shrine really hurts it and the figures there are pretty uninteresting. And even though I've loved ninjago's more expensive sets in the past (Ninjago city sets, various bountys, etc), something about this design is just kinda unappealing to me.
day one buys are Riyu the baby dragon and the wolf mask shadow dojo but my shop isn't showing it so I might have to go to a different shop on another day :(
Not sure if I'll pick up the Lloyd mech or another copy of one of the January sets. Just depends on what Walmart carries. But Lloyd and Cole would be the best options
I’m gonna be honest, I don’t understand the love for the dragon stone shrine. It’s half the size of the dojo for the SAME price, the mini-figures aren’t that good, and it mostly, a glorified brick, with only one play feature.
Not tryna be defensive but I think people love the set cuz of the design. Ninjago mostly puts out mechs, dragons and vehicles but this time they made a cool looking dragon mountain stone
the 2 sets I want most are the kai mech and the shadow dojo but I think I'm gonna the shadow dojo because it's probably gonna sell out early and then I'll wait to get the kai mech and I'll probably get sora's hair and climber cole from bricklink
I March I will get The Shadow Dojo Temple, climber Kai mech, the Lloyd mech and baby riyo. (Sorry I don't know how to spell it) and it climber Cole isn't going to be in a magazine then I wait till the buggy is for sale the rest I don't care.

Was already planning on getting your recommended 3 and the Arin buggy, but I have a place where I can get sets for cheaper so I will pay around 44$ for the buggy, which is still crazy, but better than 50
Most of these sets make no sense when Lego is not evening following the netflix series. Jay shouldn't be in any sets since he only 2 scenes for minute and zero appearance from Master Wu.

Buying the magazines for the minifigures is even more expensive than just getting the Lloyd Mech for a discount so thats why I will get the mech

Sons of Garmadon had a similar distribution of minifigures- you had to get every single one set of the wave to get everyone

Im in the UK so some climber suite might come in magazines so i could get climber cole for like £5 instead of £50

If you feel tempted to buy the kai mech just for jay, remember Jay's climber suit probably won't be canon to s2.
