This looks more effective and realistic than other videos I have watched. Most of the others show a guy coming at you with a tomahawk karate chop which doesn't happen in a real street fight 😆 😂 😅 You show punches which is what happens kudos to you 👏
@RebelPulse The overhead attack you’ve seen in other video, represents any attack that could come from that general direction, it’s not a specific attack. (Unless there’s a tanto in their hand, it which case it’s a stab or a cut.) I’m curious, what do you think happens in a “real fight”?
The first technique is like jeet kune do i think. BUT In the next moves we recognize some "modified" aikido techniques : the second is like iriminage ura, the third is like sotokaeten nage, the fourth is kokyunage, the fifth is like aikiutushi, the sixth starts with sankyo then turns into rokyo which is prohibited now in aikido, the seventh nikyo then hijidori, the last is nikyo then kotegaechi. Also there is a lot of Tai Sabaki shifts. Every one can check this humble comparison on the net if he isn't a pro. Very good performance !!
I watched the video a few more times. I recognize all the moves, and they are much closer to Daito-Ryu Aikijitsu, with some Wing Chun thrown in for fun. But the footwork is definitely not mainline Aikido. O’Sensei trained in the Yagyu Ryu sword school and incorporated its footwork into Aikido. I started Aikido many years ago and trained at Aikikai for six years. I knew most of the Aikikai Shihan personally and trained with them frequently. This art would be very effective on the street because of its obvious Daito Ryu ancestry, but like Daito Ryu, it would not be much fun to practice. Daito Ryu, because of its inherent danger, must be practiced in kata form, with little room for free form or improvisation. Before O’Sensei modified some of the Daito Ryu techniques to prevent serious injuries, his dojo was known as the “Hell Dojo” because of the screams and groans that passersbys would hear. I am glad that O’Sensei smoothed out the Daito Ryu techniques. In all the years that I have studied Aikido, I have only had a hairline fracture of my right ulna, courtesy of a macho idiot, and a broken rib resulting from a body slam from Chiba Sensei.
The first technique was a classical Baji Quan technique without every connections to Aikido. False headline spoils everything he is trying to show. To swirl someone doesn't make it automatically Aikido.
I think you’re assuming that there are hard lines between martial arts, outside of competition rules. There aren’t really. One persons Bajiquan is another persons aikido. We all use the same principles and nobody owns them.
The timing, footwork and positioning are not related to classic Aikikai Aikido or even Daito-Ryu Aikijujitsu. Whatever this is, it would work on the street as long as one was young, strong and lucky enough.
You should know things before talking, it actually works even in real self defense I advice you, if you just follow all negative comments about Aikido, don’t believe them

@@jamesbyrne3033 No, I’m assuming that the techniques of various arts can be recognizable. For example, when I’m watching someone shadowbox, I never think it’s Judo.
@MrCBTman That is probably because judo is a sport and boxing isn’t allowed in that sport. When you practice enough martial arts you see that most of the techniques are shared. Yes you can look at a technique and say, “that technique is from X martial art” And you might be right, Another person can look at the same technique and say, “That technique is from Y martial art” And they might be right too.
