Yes the Klarenbeek Volvo, and thank you. Is it just one time that you are spotting there or you are there more often ?

So many cab over style trucks! Ours are longer with the cab behind the motor in a longer configuration. Also noticed a lot of single rear axles or lifting rear axles with only the one drive axle. We do have some day cab trucks with only one rear axle but all the long haulers are tandem both drive but never with a front drive axel (6x6).

There are a few trucks in Ireland and UK with bonnetted cabs mostly scania with rare sightings of volvo and iveco but most delivery and collection points are so small you need a tight turning circle.
Normal configuration would be a 6x2 tractor with midlift axle but in Ireland the 4x2 tractor is still popular.
Where are you from how is the trucking scene with you?

Euro length regulations cover the whole truck. In US they cover the trailer. Don't know why tandem drives became so popular there. They're not required on general haulage, weigh more, cost more and use more fuel. And your weight limits are generally lower than Europe and way lower than some European countries and you've better roads so really don't know how tandems got so popular.

Forward control trucks are the standard in Europe..just as it seems normal control trucks are the standard in the US..which I assume is where you are from?

I’m in Canada. Alberta. Near Calgary. Almost every thing her is 4x6. Som day cab 2x4 fir in city work. Don’t have a license and thus not been my experience but travels a lot with parents and life. I very much enjoy just going somewhere and seeing the world roll by. I also like to watch people doing there thing like this video just watched trucks go by. A person in each vehicle with their own world to work through. God bless you man!

I’m guessing that the winters have a lot to do with that. But by the same logic I can’t understand why there aren’t nearly any 6x6. Where there are many of those in Europe.

Sadly not, we travel the EU and UK, so you might see us out and about anywhere, but I have a lifelong love of Irish trucks especially.
