It would be great to see a video setup from the point of logging in to exporting the parameters. I expect that many people don't use the auto function of the active balancer because they don't know it exists, or don't know how it works.

Che cavo serve per collegare bms a pc,ho acquistato il cavo Mod CC-USB-RS485-150U ma non riesco a connettermi .Servono driver?

Where can I buy cable that connect active balancer to bms? I ordered bms v3 with active balancer and it comes without this cable, balancer didn't work, 2 quick flash (small green diode) and make some clicking sound but don't balance.

I was hoping to opt for a purchase of several pcs seplos but after my bad experience with 6 pcs pre-assembled mason 280A with an incredible imbalance in their cells, the active balancer seemed like a solution, but it seems that it is better to opt for companies with jk like ELL battery.

Balancing should be done at at least 3.5V minimum for each cells, 3.34v doesn't mean cells are balanced !

Correct. The voltage delta cannot be adjusted in the balancer and is fixed set to 50mV as per their website and specification. 4mV delta is only possible because the voltage is now lower and all cells are in the flat part of the curve again.
A real test would be to charge to 3.6V and let the balancer work. We would see 50mV as the delta which is the best result this balancer can do.

I am glad though to see a company start to realize they need balance board technology in their battery packs they are selling. I am building 40 kilowatt mobile power units here in America. No matter how good the quality of the cells is I recommend active balancing.

@@OffGridGarageAustralia Andy, There is a connection cable between Active balancer and BMS 3.0.
The connector in BMS (number 10) is described as "Active Balancer costumize".(4 wires that I assume its VCC, GND, TX and RX.) but on the balancer side, its called "dry contact port".
Did you already test this board? Is this "comunication" link, just allowing BMS to switch On/Off the active balancer, or it could be for costumization via SW, now or in near future?
      keep those videos comming.
      Cheers

@@cmmonica4029 There is no communication between the balancer and the BMS.
With settings 100 and 101 in the BMS, it has some sort of control and can activate the balancer if the voltage delta goes over 500mV. Stupid and unusable in this form.

What is the max amps? Why not make it programmable in BMS itself instead of external switch? Unless...

    THAT is a massive balancer.
    is it Capacitor? Resistor? Inductor?

I wonder why they're using g relays instead of mosfets? Also wonder if the relays are click-clacking away as it balances. Can't wait for Andy (wink wink) to test this!

That's solid state relay , no click clack 🙂
