I feel that it’s perfectly fine for BS to monetize early-access, but the problem is when the early-access brawler is completely broken with virtually no counters (see Kit, L&L and Chuck on heist). I think the community reaction would be a lot less negative if they just made them more balanced on release.
chuck has always been balanced tho yes hes broken on heist but thats by design he was meant to be good at that and no amount of tuning will really make him a bad brawler on heist and he is balanced on other game modes that got it right once they can do it again and i don't think they are trying to make the brawlers as op as they are
@@aTypicalMushroom i believe someone on the team responded to the accusation of purposefully releasing broken brawlers saying that they would rather release something powerful that they can tweak to make balanced then a brawler that is weak and needs improvements. It's shitty because it gives people who spend money on the game an advantage with a new brawler that no one knows anything about really, but at the same time, lets be honest, if the character WASNT broken, no one would buy the pack. 🤷♂However, to top all that off, there is not really a way for them to officially test new characters until they are released. The numbers that they put in place (example 33% healing on L&L gadget) is a sort of "placeholder" until the team gets enough info to tell them that that gadget needs a nerf/buff. They can play the character all they want on a dev build, but just like the content creators, they can't play with ACTUAL people unless they are also on the dev build, and the only people on the dev build are the devs and content creators, and content creators arent going to help them do research to see if a character is broken or not because they aren't going to pay them for their help and there are not enough members on the team for them to set a proper conclusion on whether or not a character is broken or weak. Thats why they probably increase the values of those numbers (like the gadget i mentioned earlier) instead of lowering them. Everyone thinks there is some malicious intent behind them doing something like this but this dev team is NOT like the clash royal team. They at least told us flat out that they do things to make money because they NEED to to stay in business and keep the game going. Would you rather them release balanced brawlers that no one would buy so they start losing revenue and the game would have to be shut down? because in reality thats what it comes down too.
Larry and Lawrie are mechanically amazing, however: Once again, Supercell wants to make as much money as possible from their brawler release, so they make this brawler (and everyone else) OP for the first 2-3 weeks to get us to buy and possibly invest a lot of our resources into them. Like I get it, they wanna make money, but if this happens for 2 weeks every 5 weeks(that's how often a brawler comes out), it's such a big percentage of our time where we have to suffer. And the worst part is that they act like they don't know that they're releasing OP brawlers, and then they dare to apologize after they nerf them... They can do emergency nerfs on the day of release if they want, so they'd better stop acting like a savior with those delayed nerfs, they literally create a problem just to act awesome when they eventually solve it!
Im pretty sure they dont do this because of that, Frank has stated that they rather make a op brawler that they can nerf rather than a too weak brawler, That way they are more fun to play. (thats a different story if you’re facing them thought :( )

I can't believe Supercell "unintentionally" does this now 😞. Locking the new brawlers behind a paywall and being broken to nerf them some time after the offer ends.
Anyone else remembers Grom when he was first released, his attack also used to land instantly on close range without going all the way up and fall down. He used to absolutely shred everyone even his natural counters like mortis at that time. Then they nerfed his attack projectile to go all the way up even at close range. I wouldn't be surprised if this brawler also gets the same treatment.
I think the projectile speed is fine how it is. The nerf should be a bit more dynamic instead of applying an already-existing nerf like a band-aid. His attack should be shorter range, slightly smaller splash, and a bigger gap between the first and secondary explosion. The way it is now, you can pretty much only escape the secondary explosion if you're on the edge of the first one. Then his Star Power should make Lawrie take 60% damage and Larry take 40% or something. And fix the heal/dash gadget, I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. Sometimes you only dash slightly towards each other, sometimes you dash across the map, and sometimes you dash way past each other, it's weird.

L&L super must need more damage to actually be achieved, lawrie’s health has to be lower, otherwise it’s like fighting against another brawler while it just has to be a helper. i agree with the delaying of the second explosion and about the 40%;60% thing, but that won’t be enough, L&L would still be too strong. the only counter rn is edgar from what i’ve seen if L&L threw all their projectiles. Still, a big L for supercell for creating another op brawler with no counters at all.

It's kind of sad when looking at all the early access brawlers supercell isn't even trying to balance the new brawlers at all Makes the game a lot less fun when there's constantly another menace ruining ladder Even ignoring the pay to win aspect of it when everyone has the brawler in a week ladder will still be a miserable experience if you don't want to play the new brawler
They need to reverse the on hit effect, instead of the attack sprouting outwards reverse it. The first hit is the big radius and the follow-up the smaller radius, it makes hitting shots more rewarding since his damage is already broken while at the same time providing the dynamike treatment, powerful in accuracy.
They might reduce to lawrie takes 50% of receiving damage and you take 50% damage. That’d be good still. Full on invincibility is crazy😂. They should know, they took that away from kit🤦♂️ Edit: don’t make lawrie take 50%, Lawrie has to take normal damage for it to work😂
That was my first idea but I realised it does not make anything. You will die exactly the same time like right now. The enemy needs to deal the same demage to eliminate you. The only difference is your "pet" wont die before you. I think it would be even more powerfull because your "pet" will deal demage for 2 times longer time.
He just charges his super way too fast. As soon as you kill Laurie, he spawns another, you get no reprieve whatsoever. Making the super charge a lot slower will make him care about Laurie more, making more strategic plays (but it will also make it a lot more annoying when Laurie doesn't do what you want).
Just nerf the shield star power to only tank like 50% of dmg. Bypasses all the weird interactions bc you still get hit for dmg. Oh also the main attack. That too.
i think it would be still pretty op, cause it‘s literally a Gus super, without the fact that it loses life over time. Plus u have a „pet“ that does attack ur opponents like Nitas Bear or else.
@@jasoncaroon it can also go and get itself killed. Not to mention that both the player AND the bot can get hit with one attack. Though the main idea is "don't shield ALL damage" to avoid the weird implications it has. No more janky healing under fire or not charging super.
And that's what make them really strong, not like Nita bear, Lawrie is a bit more unpredictable, even his weapon (the gadget), also the fact that their original skin have almost the same color make it even worse
I’ve played since global and I completely agree, this is on a whole nother level of strength than even prime Rosa/leon. Close range + throwing +ega tank with star power and healing with his gadget is so op
The second shot has a much shorter time interval than Barley's attack, so its a lot easier to hit both times with Larry. Not an expected thing that I thought would be op but it actually makes Larry deal so much more damage. Hopefully they get nerfs sooner rather than later now that supercell is off break, but two new broken brawlers on release is sketch. (also I thought they learned with Grom that having a thrower that is able to burst down enemies right next to them isn't a good game mechanic💀)
The second star power activated on the Heist safe. (Probably a bug?) This results in almost infinite ammo and is a very fun power trip. You’ll have to try it out!
I'm beginning to think that the Dev Team doesn't do any play testing. They just come up with a bunch of random stats and abilities for a new brawler and go "yeah that's probably fine".
Ideal nerf / change list. Reduce larry and lawrie health from 6800 to 6000 Reduce delay from bomb attack by 0.2s Reduce bomb attack from 1680 per hit to 1580 per hit Increase super charge rate from 5 hits to 8 hits ( 4 bombs with both ticks hit) Lawrie his twin no longer charges super. ( so you cant just chain supers. Reworked first gadget from switching guns to. Lawrie his twin gains a 20% shield buff. Reworked second gadget from switching places and healing to lawrie his twin gains 30% reload speed buff. Reworked 1st gadget to. Lawrie the twin takes 100% of all damage you recieve is redirected to him> lawrie twin takes 25% of all damage is redirected to him. Reworked 2nd star power. To every time lawrie damages an enemy you gain 30% ammo to you gain 15% ammo instead. Also reduced lawrie twin damage from short spread attack from 4800 if all hit to 2800 if all hit
I’ve been using the ‘bad’ SP and Gadget, and I think they’re actually pretty fun. Getting to switch your weapon is great, and ammo reload is good without being terribly broken
The weapon switch is actually insane, although the bot is bad with the throw attack, if you get your super back and respawn lawrie, he will get the shotgun back, making both larry and lawrie have the same weapon, and if you use the gadget again (while yous have the same attack) it will switch to both larry and lawrie having the throw attack

Who else thinks this shielding starpower should be a gadget just so that it will only be active during a limited duration. And we can also use that oppurtunity to make the weapon swap gadget into a starpower so that people will atleast use it since its alternative is no longer the OP dash heal.
Honestly if we want them to stop releasing them as OP. You should flood them with 1 star reviews and explain this as why. It's not fun. They do this every release for 2-3 weeks. That's a damn lot of time
But this would be the 5th thrower who does that and i don't want that to happen really (Only Barley and Willow's shots land faster the closer they aim which isn't much)
So, I think his second star power is also broken (and I mean that in two ways: stupidly op and also actually not functioning properly). I had a Larry & Lawrie on my team in a Heist match who had charged his super and was basically uncontested on the enemy safe. He threw Lawrie onto the enemy safe and was then able to throw out almost constant attacks thanks to the ammo gain he was getting from his star power. There was only one enemy brawler there at the time, and they had just respawned and still had the respawn shield, so the only damage being dealt was against the enemy safe. I don't think it's supposed to work against non-Brawler targets.

If it's actually meant to work when he damages ANYTHING, then that's kind of stupid; he'll get extra ammo back if Lawrie hits other spawns (including things like Penny's Salty Barrel and Spike's Life Plant) and basically get to destroy them for free. I don't see how that could possibly be how they intended it to work.

There are other abilities in the game that specify things like that (EMZ's Hype star power referring to enemy brawlers and Mico's Record Smash star power referring to non-Brawlers), but something this big couldn't possibly be missed accidently. It's sad seeing Brawl Stars go in this direction.

I think the larry and lawrie nerfs has calmed down ever since their heath was knocked down to 5600. So its safe to say they are still very good and worth upgrading to lvl 11 because he still doesn’t have a hypercharge. Granted its probably not going to be the most broken thing in the world (by now the team has learned their lesson from 2024 xd) but it will make them remain in the a-s tier for a while.

Protocole assist is just BUSTED in heist from some things wich i saw (im talkong about the 2nd super) just get Lawry with his shotgun next to the safe and you just spam your thrown projectile for a LOT of dmg
In my experience damage gear might be good because with Lawrie out you can stay at low hp without worrying about taking damage . You can have one hp and keep the pressure on
No I don’t have Larry & Lawrie No I haven’t really played against him But I want to give nerf suggestions, if you disagree that is very reasonable. I have a few ideas so maybe 1 or two could only be done 1. Nerf attack range by 1/3 tiles, just a small amount 2. Larry Damage 1680 - 1500 3. Nerf super range but 1-2 tiles 4. Lawrie Damage 600 - 450 or 500 5. Make Lawrie have Heath decay like Megs old super, make it only take effect like 3-5 seconds after being spawned 6. First gadget, give some kind of reason to chose it 7. Second gadget, decrease heal 30%-25% or 20% 8. Second gadget, make it limited range like Nita or Jessie gadget 9. First star power transfer 60%-80% rather than 100% 10. Second star power decrease the amount of amo Lawrie transfers my 20%-40% Thanks for reading. Now hypercharge concept Speed: +10 for both Damage: +10% for both Shield: +10% for both Small cuz they both get it Make it so when hypercharge is active, Larry’s ticket machine fires fire attacks which act like a mini amber, it can burn bushes and give very small burn damage like stu When Lawrie is spawned during hypercharge he a small explosion attack which can destroy walls but attack range for Lawrie is decreased and now is one projectile, however his attack will return to normal when Larry hypercharge runs out. Mythic gear time, idk if supercell still remembers this lol I think this should be something small like attack radius increase every 3-5 seconds like sprout Please don’t cancel me I haven’t even started my carrier
I’m low on coins and could only get them to level 9 with a gadget and gear, and yet I’ve gotten them to Silver 1. They’re definitely broken, since I’ve done so well with them not even being at full power
If u play heist with the reload star power and u throw ur ult on the fault for every bullet hé hits on vault or players reloads ur primary fire so u almost have unlimited ammo and u can SHRED THAT VAULT SO INSANELY FAST ITS CRAZY
I don’t mind the new brawler. The only thing I have an issue is the detonation after the attack lands which is imposible to doge when he attack more than once
I recently got Hank rank 30 on day 3 of Larry and Lawrie without one on my team in bb with a 10 win streak at the end (47k player), I think that they aren't actually that op and that you just need to learn how to vs them with ur comp/brawler, and that since they are so different to other brawlers a lot of poeple find it hard to do that, the one nerf i would give them would be an indirect nerf where lawrie also charges enemy super but a bit slower. For the record i do not have Larry and Lawrie
I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining or anything, just sharing my honest opinion. I can’t help but feel a bit upset that there seems to be a pattern with every new brawler. When they are extremely overpowered and they are hidden behind a paywall for the first week or so then later they get nerfed, obviously, it feels like it’s intentional so more people spend money on them. And by the time everybody else who chose to unlock the character by playing the game finally gets to try them out, they are already nerfed to the ground. Uh.. it’s no fun ):

Step 1: Create brawler OP on purpose Step 2: Lock them behind a paywall to get players to use credit card (most OP brawler) Step 3: Nerf them to the ground before F2P have a chance to take advantage of the brawler Step 4: Repeat until F2P give up from frustration and buy the new OP brawlers (or leave the game, leaving only P2W cash cows in to give even more money) Step 5: Profit. Bruh, Larry and Laurie are broken beyond everything BS have ever released. If you face them in brawl ball, as the top comment says, it's an instant L. It just broke the game, it's not fun anymore. Larry's normal attack has long range, goes over walls and is super strong, he has relatively a lot of health, his super is strong af, best super in the game by far, his gadget is good and the most important- his star power is unbeatable. It's literally like a shield that does LOADS of damage, especially from close range. NERFFFF PLEASEEE
Love how they make the new brawler only available for money for the first 10 weeks. make them completely OP then nerf into the dirt as soon as everyone can get them. Literally 2 characters in a row they have done this with. Also, when they released Edgar's star power, he got an emergency nerf so this is intentional
i like how they say its an epic brawler but with what we see now hes likely a legendary the fact that he is a thrower and has a shotgunner next to him is OP but he is not worth buying because most ppl play with edgar and if he uses his star power 25% more hp when hitting someone he can easily take down larry and lawrie unless they have many power cubes
I think a good nerf for Larry and Lawrie is his first star power Lawrie takes 2x the damage that you would have taken and for the second star power, you only reload 10% of your ammo.

They might reduce to lawrie takes 50% of receiving damage and you take 50% damage. That’d be good still. Full on invincibility is crazy😂. They should know, they took that away from kit🤦♂️

That was my first idea but I realised it does not make anything. You will die exactly the same time like right now. The enemy needs to deal the same demage to eliminate you. The only difference is your "pet" wont die before you. I think it would be even more powerfull because your "pet" will deal demage for 2 times longer time.

He just charges his super way too fast. As soon as you kill Laurie, he spawns another, you get no reprieve whatsoever.
Making the super charge a lot slower will make him care about Laurie more, making more strategic plays (but it will also make it a lot more annoying when Laurie doesn't do what you want).
Just nerf the shield star power to only tank like 50% of dmg. Bypasses all the weird interactions bc you still get hit for dmg.

i think it would be still pretty op, cause it‘s literally a Gus super, without the fact that it loses life over time. Plus u have a „pet“ that does attack ur opponents like Nitas Bear or else.

The second shot has a much shorter time interval than Barley's attack, so its a lot easier to hit both times with Larry. Not an expected thing that I thought would be op but it actually makes Larry deal so much more damage. Hopefully they get nerfs sooner rather than later now that supercell is off break, but two new broken brawlers on release is sketch. (also I thought they learned with Grom that having a thrower that is able to burst down enemies right next to them isn't a good game mechanic💀)

The second star power activated on the Heist safe. (Probably a bug?) This results in almost infinite ammo and is a very fun power trip. You’ll have to try it out!

I'm beginning to think that the Dev Team doesn't do any play testing. They just come up with a bunch of random stats and abilities for a new brawler and go "yeah that's probably fine".

Ideal nerf / change list.
Reduce larry and lawrie health from 6800 to 6000
Reduce delay from bomb attack by 0.2s
Reduce bomb attack from 1680 per hit to 1580 per hit
Increase super charge rate from 5 hits to 8 hits ( 4 bombs with both ticks hit)
Lawrie his twin no longer charges super. ( so you cant just chain supers.
Reworked first gadget from switching guns to. Lawrie his twin gains a 20% shield buff.
Reworked second gadget from switching places and healing to lawrie his twin gains 30% reload speed buff.
Reworked 1st gadget to. Lawrie the twin takes 100% of all damage you recieve is redirected to him> lawrie twin takes 25% of all damage is redirected to him.
Reworked 2nd star power. To every time lawrie damages an enemy you gain 30% ammo to you gain 15% ammo instead.
Also reduced lawrie twin damage from short spread attack from 4800 if all hit to 2800 if all hit
Also i jusr realised that his larry has fast move speed equal to crow so nerfed his move speed equal to 720 normal like barley.
I’ve been using the ‘bad’ SP and Gadget, and I think they’re actually pretty fun. Getting to switch your weapon is great, and ammo reload is good without being terribly broken

The weapon switch is actually insane, although the bot is bad with the throw attack, if you get your super back and respawn lawrie, he will get the shotgun back, making both larry and lawrie have the same weapon, and if you use the gadget again (while yous have the same attack) it will switch to both larry and lawrie having the throw attack

Who else thinks this shielding starpower should be a gadget just so that it will only be active during a limited duration. And we can also use that oppurtunity to make the weapon swap gadget into a starpower so that people will atleast use it since its alternative is no longer the OP dash heal.

So, I think his second star power is also broken (and I mean that in two ways: stupidly op and also actually not functioning properly). I had a Larry & Lawrie on my team in a Heist match who had charged his super and was basically uncontested on the enemy safe. He threw Lawrie onto the enemy safe and was then able to throw out almost constant attacks thanks to the ammo gain he was getting from his star power. There was only one enemy brawler there at the time, and they had just respawned and still had the respawn shield, so the only damage being dealt was against the enemy safe. I don't think it's supposed to work against non-Brawler targets.
it is. it simply gives you 30% of your ammo bar(so one ammo) when lawrie HITS a shot. And he. isa shotgunner shooting like 15 projectiles per ammo.

If it's actually meant to work when he damages ANYTHING, then that's kind of stupid; he'll get extra ammo back if Lawrie hits other spawns (including things like Penny's Salty Barrel and Spike's Life Plant) and basically get to destroy them for free. I don't see how that could possibly be how they intended it to work.

There are other abilities in the game that specify things like that (EMZ's Hype star power referring to enemy brawlers and Mico's Record Smash star power referring to non-Brawlers), but something this big couldn't possibly be missed accidently. It's sad seeing Brawl Stars go in this direction.

I think the larry and lawrie nerfs has calmed down ever since their heath was knocked down to 5600. So its safe to say they are still very good and worth upgrading to lvl 11 because he still doesn’t have a hypercharge. Granted its probably not going to be the most broken thing in the world (by now the team has learned their lesson from 2024 xd) but it will make them remain in the a-s tier for a while.
Kairos they changed the amount of trophies for bot matches from 100 to 150 like a year ago.

In my experience damage gear might be good because with Lawrie out you can stay at low hp without worrying about taking damage . You can have one hp and keep the pressure on

No I haven’t really played against him
But I want to give nerf suggestions, if you disagree that is very reasonable. I have a few ideas so maybe 1 or two could only be done
1. Nerf attack range by 1/3 tiles, just a small amount
2. Larry Damage 1680 - 1500
3. Nerf super range but 1-2 tiles
4. Lawrie Damage 600 - 450 or 500
5. Make Lawrie have Heath decay like Megs old super, make it only take effect like 3-5 seconds after being spawned
6. First gadget, give some kind of reason to chose it
7. Second gadget, decrease heal 30%-25% or 20%
8. Second gadget, make it limited range like Nita or Jessie gadget
9. First star power transfer 60%-80% rather than 100%
10. Second star power decrease the amount of amo Lawrie transfers my 20%-40%

I’m low on coins and could only get them to level 9 with a gadget and gear, and yet I’ve gotten them to Silver 1. They’re definitely broken, since I’ve done so well with them not even being at full power
If u play heist with the reload star power and u throw ur ult on the fault for every bullet hé hits on vault or players reloads ur primary fire so u almost have unlimited ammo and u can SHRED THAT VAULT SO INSANELY FAST ITS CRAZY
Bought them day 1 because I like this characters as a characters design wise, was pretty surprised how op they are.
I don’t mind the new brawler. The only thing I have an issue is the detonation after the attack lands which is imposible to doge when he attack more than once

I recently got Hank rank 30 on day 3 of Larry and Lawrie without one on my team in bb with a 10 win streak at the end (47k player), I think that they aren't actually that op and that you just need to learn how to vs them with ur comp/brawler, and that since they are so different to other brawlers a lot of poeple find it hard to do that, the one nerf i would give them would be an indirect nerf where lawrie also charges enemy super but a bit slower. For the record i do not have Larry and Lawrie

I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining or anything, just sharing my honest opinion. I can’t help but feel a bit upset that there seems to be a pattern with every new brawler. When they are extremely overpowered and they are hidden behind a paywall for the first week or so then later they get nerfed, obviously, it feels like it’s intentional so more people spend money on them. And by the time everybody else who chose to unlock the character by playing the game finally gets to try them out, they are already nerfed to the ground. Uh.. it’s no fun ):

Step 1: Create brawler OP on purpose
Step 2: Lock them behind a paywall to get players to use credit card (most OP brawler)
Step 3: Nerf them to the ground before F2P have a chance to take advantage of the brawler
Step 4: Repeat until F2P give up from frustration and buy the new OP brawlers (or leave the game, leaving only P2W cash cows in to give even more money)
Step 5: Profit. (Literally)
my problem with the pack is, when I use tokens to get them, the skin is no longer accessable to me. (new season just started)

Bruh, Larry and Laurie are broken beyond everything BS have ever released. If you face them in brawl ball, as the top comment says, it's an instant L. It just broke the game, it's not fun anymore. Larry's normal attack has long range, goes over walls and is super strong, he has relatively a lot of health, his super is strong af, best super in the game by far, his gadget is good and the most important- his star power is unbeatable. It's literally like a shield that does LOADS of damage, especially from close range. NERFFFF PLEASEEE

I think a good nerf for Larry and Lawrie is his first star power Lawrie takes 2x the damage that you would have taken and for the second star power, you only reload 10% of your ammo.
