This podcast man this is when TH-cams algorithms work correctly i;'m addicted to wine and drinking in the UK 4.30pm but been drinking since 11am still working so i guess il;m a functioning alcoholic but i find it hard to get past what i have been through and i dont have anyone i can meet locally and have not for a long time.
I find it hard to talk to people because i have always felt seriously disconnected from society always felt different and have not been accepted called weird complicated i mean yes i am deep a very deep thinking person and from my childhood through most of my adulthood i felt really and seriously out of place to the point where i thought i was born out of time i felt that different to society and because of this i find it hard to connect with people almost impossible and then because of this i am lonely and to combat that loneliness at times i binge drink.
I actually attached myself to Sinclair character because he said the same he never felt like he was in the time he was supposed to be in and then he became Valen so feeling the same so out of time i loved this series and was hooked and loved the afterwards the political battles and conflicts and morale conflicts this was a series and still is a series i can identify with to the point now where i am writing my own Sci-Fi series and B5 inspired me to do that.

In season five, Sheridan struggles to change from a military leader to a civilian one.

Great discussions in the podcast. B5 has a few of those episodes that hit harder on a meta-level than in-universe - thinking of a few Sinclair episodes and the Minbari civil war - but this one, so far, is probably the clearest and heaviest. Really shows what a difference it can make when a writer knows their actors so well... but it's also just sad.
Since you were discussing it: in her autobiography Mira Furlan does go into some detail about the flak she got before fleeing Yugoslavia, and it's very much a witchhunt. Would recommend the book - it's a heavy read but worth it

Justin raises an interesting question about Earth - who represents Earth now? Originally the station commander wore a dual hat as military governor and Earth rep, but it doesn't feel like Lochley has that second duty, she is just on board to run the station.

I've noticed in the council chambers, the advisory board members and the president have plaques that state their government... I think they're also supposed to speak for their governments, including Sheridan?
(That does not actually seem to be happening though)

Some of the worlds wanted peace, most wanted the cool toys the Alliance promised without actually having to do anything.

'Less diplomatic than Janeway' 🤣I just watched her throw Voyager at 2 pulsars; I'd say her diplomatic credentials are as... Janeway as ever 🤣

I know it was necessary for the plot and I figure I am not the first person to ask this, but is it a good idea to have only one person monitoring signals intelligence?

There are certainly good episodes in Season 5, but overall, Season 5 is much weaker than the others. Having followed along with the re-watch, and having used to think the fault was Lockley, I agree that Sheridan is often most of the problem. I do wonder if Season 5 would have been better if Ivanova had stayed in the series, but if the story would have remained the same in terms of plot points, neither Lockley nor Ivanova would have changed much.
Granted, there were good writing aspects for certain characters, and definitely some hints to what could have been if the series continued past this season. Zach and Garibaldi, Vir and Londo, and Londo and G'Kar were the better stories in this episode in my opinion.

I agree. For me season 5 is bad writing due to not connecting well the events of previous episodes.
