    You can line the Island with Waterproof Membrane and Shuttering all round from the Top to the Bottom to prevent Erosion and Undercut for many years. This will keep the Lake looking good for a long while.

  • @stephensmith6177
    @stephensmith6177 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Make a gap in the bund between every two pegs for access. You can plant on top of the bund with shrubs to cut down the wind.
    As for stocking it's up to you but I would not fill it in with cheap king carp or f1's as there are thousands of that type of water.
    Stocking with species of a size not easily swallowed by the black death so that you can still get a 75 to 100lb winning weight.
    Using paired wires between swims 4" and 15 " above water level will help to deture cormorants .

    If you place the parking in bays between the pegs you don't need twice the width all the way around. Each peg can still have it's own parking that is not in the way of using double rollers for the long pole. Make the road one way only.

  • @ihcfn
    @ihcfn 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    I'd suggest not stocking carp, there are thousands of lakes in the country with carp in them. You don't have to catch a "ton" to have a good days fishing/match.

    parking behind or by the peg is so important for disabled anglers, and those are the anglers that can come mid week when everyone else is at work still bringing in income, I had to stop fishing at woodlands near Thirsk because of the lack of disabled parking near pegs, lucky for me The Oaks has thought of that and its much easier

    one goldfish in the lake catch it you get something for a pic person in the pic needs to hold the day ticket for that day or something, shame there's not more land so you could do a smaller w on top of a larger W but connected so its one lake or a w lake with a w shaped island for winning ways

    Id just buy milo or drumble at cudmore add a few egg type craters under water so the fish have somewhere to spawn and the big carp can feed . Add a couple extra islands closer to the bankside . With.. grass carp added to help with any overgrown weed areas

    Rather than 14.5m id go 13m across. I know its not kuch but it levels the playing field that little bit extra as poles are generally far closer to an equal ability at 13m vs 14.5m. and then have the far bank maybe "waved" to create areas that little bit further away if you wanted to be at 14.5m or 16m. Just anpersoanl opinion.

    If its a "Snake" Lake type with islands I would have the Max distance to the opposite bank/Island/Feature to be Max 13 Meters to allow for 13m Max Pole distance. I also think that Margins and Depths to be even along the full length of the Lake.

    Nobody is better than Grant Albutt (Moorlands Farm) at designing, creating and re-buildiing great lakes for all disciplines and standards of anglers. Fishery of the Year says it all. Stafford Moor is another venue that has immaculate access, great maintenance, pegging and superb stocking from onsite stock ponds. Mileage and phone calls required.
