Restricting imports of rice will NOT increase farm production. Only well connected and corrupt people will benefit from it. Import restrictions has been the mantra for decades in the Philippines but have not fixed the problem. Increasing the farm productivity and efficiency is the solution so we could compete with the rest of the world. Government must create crop insurance so farmers don't get wiped out after crop failures due to storms etc. Fund massive irrigation projects and remove import tariffs on farm implements and machineries (tractors, tillers, harvesting and planting machines). No need to use the old carabaos for tilling. One person in US and Japan could plant or harvest crops thousands of acres in a day. They bought their equipment funded by bank loans. By making our farmers productive, new generations do not need to go abroad to earn decent income.

Easy money for government officials to earn in importation than to develop and support our local farmers. That is why proliferation of importation of rice is continue to rise.

While speaking of food security, the country is experiencing food insecurity due to dependency to importation and being negligent to support local farmers.

Ecommerce is disinflationary. We're close to a market with perfect information. Btw, majority of the rice Filipinos consume is Non-Basmati rice which is included in India's ban.

West will criticize INDIA if Local prices of rice in INDIA got increased & many people go to bed hungry, West will also criticize INDIA if it bans rice exports to stop these things happening.
Conclusion- India shouldn't give a sh!t about what west says, it should do what's best for it's own people not worldwide population cause they wouldn't give a sh!t if anything bad happen in INDIA.

stupid comment. that is not acting show. she's doing her job objectively. she doesn't need to act or show empathy since its not a charity show. she can keep her empathy within herself. its unnecessary to show any emotions that's not needed. you can do that if someone dies and you say she still smiles while saying "my condolences"

@@jeffersonfernandez906 Im not trying to imply that she should show a gloomy face or cry before you or her audience. The topic is serious, hence, she should refrain from smiling. By doing so, she showed emotions. she is indeed in an acting show as you yourself said it. I am not also saying here that she is not doing her job. Stupid reply

PH is not claiming WPS, Spratlys, recentlyl.. Obviously it's in PH backyard, who would've thought that Chinese thieves will claim it as theirs.. U.S. and Japan have no right to hand down islands that don't belong to them in the first pace to other countries, In the same way, the U.K, Netherlands have no right to give Sabah to Malaysia when Malaysia didn't own it in the first place.. The guest seems unaware that PH and Europea have 17th century maps that show they're part of Philippines, while even early 1900 century Chinese maps didn't even show they're part of China, It's not like PH just came out of nowhere to claim it, It's in our backyard so it naturally belongs to the PH. The PH govt just didn't think we have a neighbor thief like China and steal PH territory. Historically, Geographically and Legally China has no rights over Spratlys and the rest of WPS. China was a very poor country back then, it couldn't own what it didn't own.
