Mr. John Prevost is a great man , he was the principal of my and my children's grammar school . I feel comfortable saying that Pope Leo XIV is a good man . Mom and dad are looking down on him and as proud as if they were here . Congratulations Pope Leo XIV and to the Prevost family .
This was my father's family. Irish Catholic family, he was one of 7, he went into the Navy along with his older brothers, sister became a a Fransican nun, one brother became a Diocesan Priest, another sister a Catholic educator.

He got his calling at such a young age, so it is sad that the life that he knew in Chicago changed radically, but he was meant for something different. He was called by God to serve. Crazy I grew up Catholic in Chicago going to Catholic schools and this guy sounds like so many people I know. Never thought the pope would be coming from my neck of the woods. I hope people treat him charitably because he is taking on a tough job.

Cardinal Leo confirmed my brother John as a deacon, in Chicago, twenty years ago. The Pope is a compassionate, loving, very open with the mix of faiths, determinations and denominations. What a guy!!, We grew up in Lansing, and know the background Pope had experienced, and lived with. 😊. What a guy!! M. IL. USA

Because the pope gives off a very humble vibe. When Pope Francis called his sister at home back in Argentina to tell her the he was elected, he said, "Hello, it's Jorge."
