    I mean, come on! The lace, the nails, the beads. You're absolutely amazing! You've truly mastered your craft. Very well done. I can't wait to take your classes.

    This is the most impressive art form I've ever seen. You should win an award for your art. Seriously. Breathtaking!

    Much respect and gratitude for the grace you share m'Lady.
    How many hours would a piece of this size take to create ?

    Is there a specific reason you wind your shuttles counter-clockwise rather than clockwise?
    Is there an advantage for the thread to come from the upper left of the shuttle rather than the lower right as most tatters do to provide additional tension?

    • @SparrowSpite
      @SparrowSpite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me, it's mostly just habit and what feels most comfortable to me. The way I wind also puts the thread directly where it needs to be to make motions for the first half/second half glide much smoother, and I get fewer tangles this way.

    Is there anyway to mimic the tat lace look by crocheting? Beautiful work ❤

    • @SparrowSpite
      @SparrowSpite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is actually! There's a technique called cro-tatting. I am not at all knowledgeable about it, but I'm sure there is information out there somewhere. :)

      @@SparrowSpite thank you so much for a name, I've been all over the internet trying to find something. Learned a vintage lace with a 1.5 mm hook and thread.

    GORGEOUS!! I’m just getting back into tatting after many years away from it. Do you have this pattern on your patreon or in your shop??

    What kind the tread you use? I like the treads has a shine. I’m having trouble to find nice treads, the aunt lidias not nice to do tatting.
    I love your necklace. Thank you 🤗

    • @SparrowSpite
      @SparrowSpite  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use Lizbeth by Handy Hands, but if you want more shine a polyester thread will get you there. I'm partial to Guttermann brand topstitch thread (made for machine sewing), but a lot of folks also like poly machine embroidery threads.

    What size thread do you recommend for tatting? I just started and am looking for guidance. Thanks!

    • @SparrowSpite
      @SparrowSpite  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend size 10 to start with! I have a blog post that goes over all the supplies I recommend for beginner's here that may help as well: www.sparrowspite.com/blogs/get-knotty/beginning-shuttle-tatting-a-shopping-guide
