Kadangyan is a Cordilleran term which literally means rich, but the group means rich inside and rich in culture.
The band started from a group of visual and performing artists who shared the same passion and advocacy then they decided to venture into music.
One of their songs "Baba Nam Kevalam" is said to be a yogic chant traditionally uttered when paying reverence and praise to God.
Kadangyan produced songs that were very distinctive and unique using Filipino indigenous instruments which were mostly hand crafted. Specializes in ethno-tribal rock music, and likewise plays in an acoustic set-up, provides natural ambient music and performs different kinds of Filipino native rituals on music bars, on-stage, theatres, universities, conventions or even on private parties and special gatherings.

I've met Bhava once in Cubao around 2009, he was selling clay accessories at a Bazaar. He is very soft-spoken and modest. We talked about his custom-built guitar. He's sincere and such a beautiful creative soul.
