My husband and I are in our 60's and we went on the Disney Cruise. It was so great. The trip starts on deck with all of the Disney Characters dancing and they lead you all around the ship. The fun just keeps on going.
BEST TIP EVER TO PARENTS OF LITTLES: Bring lots of snacks like granola bars or orange & apples slices etc in your purse or bag and while waiting in line give your kids snacks. We did that with the 4 grand kids ages 9 months, 3, 5 & 7 yrs old and honestly we did not have one melt down that day!! Most melt downs are from hunger.
I'm always excited for another episode of this podcast. I love hearing about what the family is up to and the updates on the kids as well. Thank you for doing this podcast for us fans.
Tori if you're going to Disneyland by yourself, be sure to take advantage of the single rider lines offered at many of the larger rides. It will save you a ton of time.
Disneyland is mine and my daughter's absolute happy place! She is globally disabled but LIGHTS up when we enter the tunnels. We live 5 hours away so have Magic Keys. Thanks for this episode.
I highly encourage your family to go on the Disney Alaska cruise! It was amazing! The cruise ships have kids club so parents have some free time each day. The themed restaurants are a huge hit as well. Excursions are top notch as well! Characters are out most of the day, parties on the deck and even fireworks!
Disney Cruises are AMAZING and expensive, especially Alaska cruises but worth every penny with little kids. Soda's and Juice's are also free on Disney Cruises. At least when we were on ours. We had a family reunion on one. If you do not have kids I do not recommend them.. Just my 2¢.
Born in 1958, growing up in California and of course went to Disneyland quite a bit, and Knotts Berry Farm, so Disneyland was so much fun in the 60’s and early 70’s for me, plus my high school and many more high schools took us there for our senior trip, the park stayed open for us all night or very late I don’t remember, but the seniors had the run of the park, it was great fun. 😊❤🎉
This is my favourite Rising Hights episode ever so far ! I loved Disneyland and Disney World! It's the most Happiest Place on Earth!😊 I have been on a Disney cruise trip and it's so much fun! It was totally worth the trip!😊
I was there the summer the Forbidden Eye ride opened. My ten year old self was SHOOK. Also my favorite. The theming they put in there at Adventureland was beautiful as well. Disneyland just has a special charm to it.
When I was in sixth grade Disneyland opened. I wanted to go so bad and it just didn’t happen and I always wanted to go. In my early 70s my husband and I went to see the tournament of roses parade in California. My husband surprised me with a day at Disneyland, I was so happy and even though it rained the entire time it was still a dream come true.
Awe that's nice. My parents had never been and were really psyched to take us as kids. You still enjoyed the rides and all as an older adult? Did you do the original Fantasyland ones?
Great episode. I listened because I love you guys, but I live in OC and have had passes since 2008 (minus the Covid shut down). I would like to suggest to those who would enjoy some TH-cam creators that have amazing information to offer: Fresh Baked Disney (David), Provost Park Pass (Chris) and The Magical Millenial (Megan). They are all great and for different reasons. David gives weekly state of affairs for both parks and keeps everyone updated with regards to crowds, construction, etc. Chris has some great tips on how to navigate Lightning Lane Multi Pass, formerly know as Genie+...I mean some GREAT tips on how to "properly" use the pass so that you get the most benefit from it. Megan gives great insight on food, snacks, drinks and new merchandise. I hope this helps people who are looking for a deeper dive on tips. Thank you so much for this episode! So much fun and I hope to run into you out at the parks one day! I have always loved the Roloff family!
I'm a local too with passes since 2011, and sometimes I can't believe the world we live in where middle-age men can quit their full time jobs to.... Vlog about Disneyland! If I ever watch a single video about Disneyland my feed gives just countless content creators trying to make money off Disney content. It's definitely a huge shift since covid/tiktok explosion. I guess it's good for them because how fun! But I can't help but to miss those slow Tuesday evenings of being able to walk on rides!
Fun fact lol (I’m old) I remember when Disneyland had ticket books with ride tickets and it was the basic Disney characters, no Star Wars, no Marvel, no Pixar, even pre Little Mermaid lol 😂. Good grief things have sure changed.
I get it Tori. The simple joy of having an EMPTY laundry hamper for just a few hours….never happens. When something is clean, I just want to enjoy the clean for awhile
As a Disneyland local who has had an annual pass for over 12yrs, I totally agree it's ALWAYS busy in a way it wasn't before Covid. Something about covid and tiktok explosion broke tourism places. There's literally zero downtime anymore because everyone needs their "content"!
@@ct6852 there are 4 different tiers for pricing (with differing availability for reservations). You can just Google Disneyland Magic Keys & they have a great website with all the different passes & prices. And no, no family pass whatsoever.
I haven’t been to Disneyland but we took the boys Disney world when they were 4 and 7. 20 years ago. Things have changed a lot since then. We research a lot before going then and it made the adventure a lot easier.I think 4 was a little to so. My oldest was 7 and he remembers all of it but the son who was 4 doesn’t remember a lot of it. So in my opinion 5 and up is a great age if you are going to take them.
We went to Disney World this past January with our kids ages 6, 4 & 2 at the time. It was probably one of our favorite family vacations we have ever done. My 6 & 4 year old I believe were at the perfect age. They both were in heaven and they behaved so well. Our 2 year old just went with the flow but was terrified of all the characters except Mickey (he kept saying “my Mickey”). My 6 year old cried on the day we left because he didn’t want to leave.
The week after Thanksgiving weekend is the best week to go...Tues, Wed, Thurs after Thanksgiving...no lines to speak of and lots of spots open for the shows at night. Also, if there are rides and attractions you want to see that are in the back of the park go to those first and work your way forward because most people work their way toward the back.
Been going to Disneyland since 1955 in my stroller. I grew up south of Disneyland in Carlsbad then moved to the Las Vegas area when I was 23 got married at 28 and took my 4 kids to Disneyland with Annual Passes. Hotels were very reasonable back in the 80's and 90's. Our kids are married and now with grandkids we are still going. We do go to Knotts Berry Farm and Sea World with a larger group. My youngest grandson first visit was at 10 days old. We are going this week to watch my grandsons and Dad run the 5K race. My wife and I Love Abby's motel thy are close and we walk to the park, saves on parking cost Motel cost $115.00 high cost to $85.00 on lowest season take off the parking fee and you have saved money to spend at the park. We stop by Subway or other sandwich shop and bring our own sodas and water. Go have fun
As an Australian who had nooooo clue about what Disneyland/Anaheim would be like, before visiting... I can vouch for the Howard Johnson... We stayed there and it was the best experience! No complaints.👌
I think so many school are doing "year round" school, which leads to Parks being crowded all though the year. My granddaughter gets a break after every 9 weeks. 2 weeks for Fall, almost a month for Christmas, 2 weeks for Spring and about 8 - 9 weeks for Summer.
So complicated now. Miss the time when you just go get your ticket and enjoy the park , But I am old so I remember Tickets for each ride , boy am I old LOL : :Love you Zack and Tori
Tori! I totally understand. Not a Disney person, but have a huge nostalgic for Disneyland because of my childhood memories with family and then later in college with friends. Now it's crazy but... you made me want to go again!
My favorite thing about staying on property is that you get the Disney shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc. and I love their products. You can order them online, but they are very pricey…
this is so true. there are different ways to do Disney and different people even in the same family do Disney differently. some are just there for the rides, others the parades and entertainment, some just pin trade or are trying to find all the characters or just the food. you definitely need a plan. for us the lightening lanes were a game changer on how we enjoyed the park. more riding less waiting and you have to pay up for that kind of experience but in my opinion very well worth it. you just feel the happiness there and like you said its nostalgic. There are so many fun facts to learn about and so many you tubers can give expert advice on fun things too. I love pagingmrmorrow or lisaland for Disney youtubers. will check out who you said too. Zach you are so easy to listen to. thanks for being a "man of the people"! LOL it rained one time when we went so we ubered from the hotel to Disney, but the other times we walked from our hotel to the toy story lot to get the tram. another thing is be prepared to walk!! and walk some more. do take breaks. my brother is a rope drop to fireworks kind of guy but we all weren't. so do what's best for you to make the experience good and not miserable.
I go to WDW multiple times a year. Disney was never a relaxing vacay, until we were old folks with no children. I can go free with no expectations and just going off the cuff. But as a family, Tori is very correct, planning is a necessity for families. Expect stress and embrace it. Lol 🤣 And note: again I go to Disney multiple times a year, for over 30 years, and i did not take my child until he was 4. No regrets. He barely even remembers the first time. I also recommend waiting until about four or older. It's very expensive and stressful.
Of the rides you can go on. Which one do you like the best. I have only been once and it was in Florida. But I am limited I can get sick on some very easy.
I think 6-7 is perfect cuz they can walk and are tall enough for most things. My son only wouldn’t do the water rides like splash and grizzly river run. He tried most other things and did great. Only took one nap on day 3
Psss. Heard best day to go is Super Bowl. With it being SO crowded multi pass upgrade is a must. Kids got on 7-8 rides before the fist parade and we were taking it easy. Didn’t rush. Will definitely upgrade again.
Disney does reward kindness and good behavior. It has happened to us multiple times. Last time we called before our trip to sort out some details and the person gave us 50% off genie plus for "being so delightful" on the phone.
I'm from Texas and we call them crawdads. According to google, Crawfish, crayfish, and crawdads are the same animal. Which term you use may depend much on where you live. Louisianans most often say crawfish, whereas Northerners are more likely to say crayfish. People from the West Coast or Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas often use the term crawdad.
Do a disney cruise! Yes, the initial cost is a lot compared to other lines, but… no casino, so that space is dedicated to great kids programs, themed dining is top notch, entertainment is head and shoulders above others. Character meets everywhere. Every corner of the ship is themed, clean, and well kept. I’ve done 2 disney cruises. Also cruised on Royal carribean, Carnival, Costa, and NCL.
Disneyland is so fun with the kids yeah you're right things have changed a lot also I wanted to let you know you got me hooked on ****Bridgeton ...and I now have to go to Peacock to watch the rest of it because I'm so addicted. 😍😘😁👀
If you didn't get to last time, you need to visit the Villain's Grove at the Oogie Boogie Bash. It's in the Redwood section of the park. It's the best part of that event. You feel like you're completely transported to a different world using fog, lights and holograms.
I have never been to Disneyland, but I absolutely love Disney World, but it gets so crowded. I want to plan a big trip again. The last time I went to Disney World was in 2015 and my two older grandsons were young and my son was pretty young my youngest and we had so much fun. We did 10 days and then the last time before that was 2013 and we did two weeks. I want to go again in 2026 with my two daughters my son and my five grandkids ❤
I grew up going to Disneyland often! I share your love of Disneyland, Tori. I get it. It's very nostalgic for me also. Just great childhood memories. I have a hands down off property hotel to stay at... but wont mention to keep it low key. Ha. Favorite rides are Space Mountain, Thunder Railroad, Pirates, Soaring. ❤ Grew up taking the boat over to Tom Sawyers island. ❤ Must get a dole whip & go into the Tiki Room. ❤ Clam chowder in a bread bowl AND Yes on the Lobster Nachos!!!
I think that's why Disney is so busy all the time now. They're doing the reservations. They're probably allowing the same amount of people every day, no matter what. There's no fluctuation.
In the 1960's My two friends and I ditched school a lot. One week we went to Disneyland 3 days in a row. We road Peter Pan all 3 days and the guy taking the tickets remembered us and he handed us back our tickets and said keep them for tomorrow. Things are so different now. Through the week on Wednesday or Thursday no crowds, walk right on any ride, etc.
Zach- I agree with Tori on cleaning. I hate cleaning but when I do get around to cleaning, I don’t want it to stay clean for a minute 😂 Tori- car maintenance is so depressing. It’s hard to see the dollar signs fixing a vehicle 😔 Disneyland: I grew up going but man Disney is not what the old Disney used to be. So now I just don’t think my kids will see Disney but will see other cool places that will be more memorable.
Disneyland has and always will be my happiest place on earth! For that reason, I won't go there now as an older person. I have the best memories and I want to keep it that way.
Put heavier brakes on the Van Tori, dealers only put the minimum on them and are generally not heavy enough and if you don't know how to use your gears instead of the brakes to gear down on hills you will go through brakes faster. dodge/Chrysler had a recall on their vans because they had the wrong size brakes on them,
My boys and I just got back last week from Disneyland! We had a fantastic time, it was their first time ever. I grew up going to the parks too. I wasn’t able to take them until recently, they are 6&10. Lightening lane was 10000% worth it for me. Once you learn how to navigate it, it’s so easy! We hardly ever waited more than 20 minutes on any ride except Cars and Rise. I cannot wait to go again. ❤
Also number one tip take your water bottles! And I packed little snacks for us that we could snack on in lines. We stayed hydrated all day, every quick service you can get free ice and water . We refilled every hour or two. Saved a bunch of money on drinks and snacks. And would just spend money on a big lunch or dinner and desserts!
We call them crawdads but im from Morgantown, West Virginia. I currently live in Florida. I lived in Colorado for 9 years and i think they called them crawfish. If you haven't been to Disney World in Florida you should definitely check it out. I would say at least spend a day in each park here.
In the 80s I took my daughter to Disneyland around the first of October. The place was empty! We walked on everything.Another time it was raining in the 90s and we wore our ponchos and it was empty! Not too many days like that anymore and with the price and parking I will go to Knotts!
You talked about rope. Drop. And the mother thing. Can you tell us about that. I have not been to Disney for 20 years but we have a 4 year old. So we thinking about going
I consider myself a Disney adult but I only really love the parks. It’s about the memories… but people who don’t understand that think Disney adults are insane. I have all my old stuffed animals but I will only wear clothes with Disneyland on it and not really characters
They do Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween Party at Disney World. We went last year. It just one ticket put it’s almost twice the price as regular ticket . You can go in at 4pm but the kick out the regular ticket people at 6pm. I was worth it as the we got on most rides no line a few were like only 10 minutes wait. But a few rides were closed to give out candy? Like we got in line to see country bear jamboree and all it was a line to go inside to get candy. So that was disappointing. But then again I would do it again. It wasn’t hot and no lines win win!
Yes. Kids can dress up anytime but not adults because they don't want kids getting confused with the park characters and adults who are just visiting the park.
It's Crawdads. You sucks the heads and eat the tails. The heads are where the fat is stored on the crawfish. Also, the boil brine is collected in the heads.
Okay.....this is how much I love you two. I have NO interest AT ALL in Disneyland, but I still watched this episode. 😁
😅😂 I haven't seen c, won't be able to ever go 🥺😒 but I'm Still here too 😉💭❤👍🏻💯❣️
Same here 😁
Have you ever been?
No matter the subject matter, you two remain so interesting and entertaining. Thanks again for a fun hour.
❤❤❤ 🤗🥰❣️

Please do 😁 Tori ❤ ya Lady 😍👋🏻😘❣️
Disneyland is mine and my daughter's absolute happy place! She is globally disabled but LIGHTS up when we enter the tunnels. We live 5 hours away so have Magic Keys. Thanks for this episode.
❤ Disneyland & Disney World with Family and Grandma was treated like a Queen. I am the Gradma ❤
I highly encourage your family to go on the Disney Alaska cruise! It was amazing! The cruise ships have kids club so parents have some free time each day. I kind of regret skipping Knotts all those years. Is it worth going? After Magic Mountain?
That sounds awesome!!

Oh my Tori, you are so me. I hate when people use and dirty up my clean house or my clean car 😂😂😂
Love Disneyland and love them. It's a win-win for me!
Love it!! I turn the radio up over all the “klunks” and “rattles” in the car too! 😂

Ticket books with A, B, C, D and E. E tickets for the best rides like Matterhorn.
You guys are great thanks for sharing your guys experience 🙏 you guys are awesome 👍😎
I get it Tori. The simple joy of having an EMPTY laundry hamper for just a few hours….never happens. When something is clean, I just want to enjoy the clean for awhile
Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri is a very fun place. It’s perfect for a family. My kids have enjoyed this just as much as a Disney trip.
I'm right there with you! When I finish laundry, I'm like PLEASE give me one day with an empty hamper! Same with my car! Love you guys!

Disney popcorn is the best! Y’all need to do a disney Alaskan cruise!
Great info!! ❤
WDW in Florida is a whole other world. Not the same- DL is way smaller.
Interesting, didn't know that and always wondered what the differences were. Anything else we should know? Do you prefer one over the other and why?
I have heard....can't guarantee this....but I heard that Disneyland in CA would fit in the parking lot of Magic Kingdom in Florida.
We stayed at the Anaheim hotel and it was great. The Marriott is good too and close
In Louisiana, we call crawfish crawdads. ❤ this podcast. Never been to Disneyland, just Disney world.
Disneyland is so fun with the kids yeah you're right things have changed a lot also I wanted to let you know you got me hooked on ****Bridgeton ...and I now have to go to Peacock to watch the rest of it because I'm so addicted. 😍😘😁👀
Next time you all go, record some of your favs! I went to Disney World in Florida on my honeymoon and absolutely loved it as an adult.
I agree been 2 times with my kids and 2 times with just adults - had the best time without kids ❤
Is he thinking of the plaza? I like blue bayou… the mint juleps and their filet is the best I’ve ever had
I love Disneyland! I’m feeling a community trip in the future lol
50k of their followers showing up on the same day would be surreal. lol

My grandkids went last year at 11 and 13 and it was the best, the too cool for school thing did not play into it at all.
Suggestion. Go through your questions before and make a list. You will get through many more. Love you guys!
We spent most of our time eating at Tortilla Joe's restaurant. A lot of good restaurants on California side.
I'm 73 but I used to love the Tiki Hut.
If you’re gonna do a cruise go on Royal Caribbean. Especially their newer ships so much for kids to do.
Come on Tori if you’re going to Disneyland without your kids you’re a
“Disney adult “😂😂😂
What’s your opinion on Disney World vs Disneyland? I’ve been to both and prefer World. Land just seemed so much smaller.
And it was sooo much cheaper!
I LOVE YOU AND I LOVE DISNEY! Win win!
Zach- I agree with Tori on cleaning. I hate cleaning but when I do get around to cleaning, I don’t want it to stay clean for a minute 😂
Tori- car maintenance is so depressing. It’s hard to see the dollar signs fixing a vehicle 😔
Disneyland: I grew up going but man Disney is not what the old Disney used to be. So now I just don’t think my kids will see Disney but will see other cool places that will be more memorable.
In the Pacific Northwest, we call them crawdads.
I grew up in Phoenix Arizona by the canal and we always called them craw dads too. Maybe it’s a southwestern thing lol
Other than Disney, there's one other theme park that I would plan a trip around: Universal Studios.
Universal is way better.
Yes! Universal is amazing…
The original in Hollywood is great if you love movies. That real, in use backlot is pretty special.
if i ever go to the us i def will visit Disneyland 🥰
Love this one. I love Disneyland ❤️
When your car starts draining your wallet, time to get a new car. And I mean a New Car.
I agree! Been there done that!
The largest box of GOLD FISH available is what I carried for my 4 little ones...❤
Disneyland has and always will be my happiest place on earth! For that reason, I won't go there now as an older person. I have the best memories and I want to keep it that way.
Put heavier brakes on the Van Tori, dealers only put the minimum on them and are generally not heavy enough and if you don't know how to use your gears instead of the brakes to gear down on hills you will go through brakes faster. dodge/Chrysler had a recall on their vans because they had the wrong size brakes on them,
I haven't been to disney land since 1988 when Rodger Rabbit and star wars was still a thing
Native Oregonian and it’s 100 percent CRAWDADS 😂😂
We call them crawdads but im from Morgantown, West Virginia. I currently live in Florida. I lived in Colorado for 9 years and i think they called them crawfish.
If you haven't been to Disney World in Florida you should definitely check it out. I would say at least spend a day in each park here.
In the 80s I took my daughter to Disneyland around the first of October. The place was empty! We walked on everything.Another time it was raining in the 90s and we wore our ponchos and it was empty! Not too many days like that anymore and with the price and parking I will go to Knotts!
Yes in the south it is crawdads. No shame on how you say it Tori . We got you lol!!!
Northern CA and we call it crawdad.
Come to Disneyworld!
Hi Tori & Zach you tube channel Love my favorite one fan BIG 💖 my favorite Disneyland one fan BIG 💖💖💖💖💖🎶🏰
Carnation Cafe !! 😊
I believe it’s the only time adults can dress up at Disney. The Halloween party’s
Yes. Kids can dress up anytime but not adults because they don't want kids getting confused with the park characters and adults who are just visiting the park.
I am a Disney adult and proud!
I’m a PROUD Disney adult!!! ❤❤
It's Crawdads. You sucks the heads and eat the tails. The heads are where the fat is stored on the crawfish. Also, the boil brine is collected in the heads.
Ontario, Canada here. We say crayfish with a long ‘a’ sound.
I’m from pennsylvania and we say it like you… long a like crayon
If you stay at a neighborhood hotel I think you get one early entry too
When you purchase your tickets now it is done by reservation at the same time.
