It made me laugh when you said the partner tends to walk away when it gets hard/difficult.. my husband hates moving as it makes him stressed because of all the uncertainty...despite this he chose to change his job, which has meant a lot of stress finding a house to rent, organise the physical relocation from one peninsula requiring a ferry journey to an island also requiring a ferry journey, plus everything else that goes with a move...the other day he was quite stressed (one of many times since the decision in February) and started talking about cancelling the whole thing and coming back to Scotland. I told him to grow some .... and stop being silly...that he chose to be in this situation and just deal with it...I have had to talk him down so many times, despite actually loving where we live now so I would not really be unhappy if we stayed..but I know he is happier there so I am just pushing him. By the end of October the move will finally be finished and we can relax and move on...
