She is definitely a singer different from others as she adds her style and punch and it makes songs sound different. But there are certain songs that shud be sung as they are, without adding too much modulations etc... and this great composition is one of them.
No it is not! This is a new gen variation and remix. I don't think anyone can do better than SMP! Original version sounds only great if it is coming out of Kishore da's but not from copy cat singers.

Those who doesn't even know the basic nuances of singing commenting about a singing sensation....her voice range, vocal control and the way she can hit the high and low notes right on precision and perfection within the same fraction of second, Mashup classical, jazz, operatic, maqam yet engaging the audience on the live stage is an art. When you can't understand them better keep it quite and enjoy listening to ordinary lullaby singers with sweet tonal quality singing some slow melodies..
