    I'm 2 years late to your video but I'm so happy to have found it. I started my career in 1983 shooting and editing for a TV station. After 25 years in sales I'm retired and back to what I love, fishing and shooting with 2 GoPros. You have confirmed a lot of what I did know and 6 very helpful items that I can get onto my boat ASAP. Thanks for the video! Next I'll search your channel for editing tips.

    I’ve been doing TH-cam for about 1 1/2 years now and you taught me something that I wish I had of known a year and a half ago, looping. I think it’s going to change my life, but I would like to hear more about the dead cat mic cover, or external microphone.

    I’m so happy you made this video Brian, I just went fishing yesterday and was lucky enough to land a musky. Had a go pro on my chest and the footage was terrible lol 90% of the action was out of frame.

    Great presentation and you covered everything for sure. The only thing I slightly disagree with is chest vs. hat. I agree with a lot of what you said about the hat comfort and movement, however if you watch someone like NDYakAngler his hat cam and mic setup are far superior to any chest cam. It’s also more conducive to kayak fishing I think…boats are a bit easier to get away with the chest.

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Colorado Fishing and Outdoors There are certainly situations where a head cam along with a separate audio recorder would be better, and fishing whilst sitting down like you would in a kayak would certainly be one of them. So many ways to skin this cat, but for what I'm doing, the chest cam is a perfect mix of very good audio, and some pretty good footage to go with it as long as it's being worn correctly 😀

    • @ColoradoFishing
      @ColoradoFishing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnglingAnarchy I actually tried out the chesty because of this video (in my boat), I do like it there. Especially in the boat when I’m looking around more/down at trolling motor etc. the chesty shines there. :).still use the hat cam for kayak but, thanks for all the insight. Now if I could figure out easier ways to sync external audio with looping style GoPros…without spending all night editing :)

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ColoradoFishing Awesome! And yeah, I wish there was a good external recorder that would loop the same as the GoPros. It would make using them so much more appealing!

    Question for you here. With the Hero9 black the usb c port is under the battery hood. Requiring it to be open if you have it plugged into the batter source you are suggesting. First question - any issue with having this hood open and getting water in it? Question 2 - can you leave the hood open with the case you recommend? Thanks, great info.

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  ปีที่แล้ว

      @peterkonow5755 I've not used the 9, so I can't give you a definitive answer, but I'm guessing that hood will pop off and I personally would just use the camera that way and just be cautious of water around it. I film with all of my 7s with the side door popped off and all of the connections are subjected to the elements with no I'll affects after years of use.

    Hi Brian still trying to get this video thing together. So I tried to control both cameras with the go pro app and it only allows me to connect one at a time then I have to pair the second one to use it. How do you start and stop all the cameras on your boat. Thanks for your time. I have Hero 7 blacks

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Stosiak I typically just start and stop the cameras in the boat manually. I think if you have a GoPro remote, you can stop and start multiple cams, but I've never tried it before.

    Is there anyway to film at 4k 60fps+ in Loop mode? My GoPro 12 seems to have it locked at 30fps at 4k.

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Align_SD I know that it's not possible on the cameras I have, but I'm still using the 7 model. I would've thought they would have that as an option for the newer cameras, but it doesn't sound like it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this one.

    So the Hero 4 silver for the chesty is not waterproof. Do you use a waterproof case when raining or just put it away when raining?

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex K Since the only place I use the hero 4 is on my chest, so I typically don't have to worry about it as long as it's not a torrential downpour. It sits high enough up on my chest that the bill from my cap keeps most if the rain off of it. But yeah, if it gets bad enough, I'll just put it away. Putting it in a case wouldn't be helpful, for me anyway, as I use it mainly for audio and the waterproof cases are no good for that.

      I use my hero 4 silver on my hat with the Action Hat DIY kit inside the waterproof housing. I also run the switronix battery eliminator kit with the waterproof housing and power the GoPro with a 20000mah powerbank without the internal battery. For audio, I modified the waterproof housing with a rubber grommet to keep it a water tight seal where my external mic goes into the GoPro and have yet to have any issues when recording on raining days. The hero 4 is still a very good camera as long as you understand and know how to use it.

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Worthfishing 🤣🤣 I'm sure the Osmo is fine, but so are the Gopros. I've been using different iterations of GoPro cameras for over 10 years and have had very good luck with them.

      @@AnglingAnarchy GoPros are way too buggy over the years I bought the very first one and stopped at the 11.. I can take my Osmo battery out and plug it into an external power pack and it work great and It never overheats. it’s a great action cam you should try it. You won’t be disappointed. It just has so many advantages over the GoPro.
