the only thing i don't like about Mercedes which is why i prefer toyota or lexus is because there stuff can go for a long time as well if something were to happen to a mercedes its all hell and won't be a good daily driver because everything on it is expensive when it breaks and then its dumped in the trash right after someone bought it not thinking straight

I honestly think this is one of the ugliest cars out there (and there are plenty). It's big, fat, and full of tacky bling. I saw one the other day, in black, and it just looked like the perfect Russian mafia car.

I’ve gotta say, I think the rattling wine bottle is a huge oversight in a vehicle like this. I’m surprised they didn’t engineer an adjustable dampened clasp to hold bottles tight.
It lets your passengers know that you aren't a wimp.
It actually holds 2 bottles.
Not to mention a different location. It’s an eyesore at the back. Or Perhaps it needs all that space for ventilation? 🤔

I really like the special details. It's ultra expensive for sure, but it feels extra special because it's not a Mercedes, it's a Maybach 😁. Nostalgia moment, remember the old days when a powerful black barge was starting in a super long gear, tried to light up the rear tires but that bright yellow /!\ was on till 2 gears later and the needle was far right on the speedo bullet train style?

I am really not a fan of the styling that these Maybach models have. It makes it look like a chinese copy how everything almost looks like a Mercedes but is slightly different
They definitely hoping to sell a bunch of these in China. They go for the large /lifted cars like luxury minivans and SUVs instead of sedan limos if they can

Maybach should create their own designs and not just be a luxury package for a normal Benz. Look at BMW with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, BMW respects Rolls-Royce heritage and uniqueness.
They should have put the S-Class V12 in this.

I’m just… not impressed by this thing. It’s basically a GLS580 with some reclining seats and piping for $100K more.
To be honest, if you're driving in any seat of a car like this, you made it.

I say give the Mercedes a few more generations until they can and will produce extended length SUVs. As they are so good at producing extended length sedans and Pullman limousines today. Maybe they can make a Pullman length GLS without it looking gaudy. The previous generation Suburban is a good exterior example to go by.
Also, the placement of the wine refrigerator is truly unfortunate. Looking at it from the cargo area, it looks like a cancerous growth. It would look far better hidden into the center console, either upright or at an oblique angle.
There is ultimate, and then Maybach. Doug DeMuro would lose his mind with all the quirks and features.

i will definitely take the S Class Maybach. This gls feels really useless, SUV are made for familly but in this you can't take your familly on a trip. I prefer take the normal gls in 580. It doesn't give the more spiecial feels that the s class maybach give me. It's the same lengt as the normal gls. I live in France and i'm pretty sure i will never this gls maybach in front of a luxurious hotel.

the problem is it's not a familly car. If you want a real familly car with big boot, 5 seats just take the normal gls in 580, i mean it's as great as this one except if you are really looking for details.

It looks so cheap and tasteless from the outside. The interior it pretty nice though and I guess it drives like a cloud
exactly. The gls is a normally a luxurious SUV like an Audi Q7. It looks good but not special. And trying to make a non special looking thing special is clearly impossible. Compared to the S Class it doesn't feel that luxurious. S Class is really the high level of luxurious, exterior is so slick an pure so making it feels even more special is way more easy. I really think they shouldn't make this one. When you open the rear door it's not like the ouaou of the new s class maybach.
