    Thanks for showing the stand alone poles. First time to see those instead of just the hiking poles. Good call on the camo print. Some people may say that the sun coming in gets them hiking even sooner but after your thru hike who’s to say you won’t use this tent again just for small weekend trips. Then you can get some extra sleep instead of the sun beaming in.

    Aww cousin, that's a mighty fine lookin' shelter. I ordered mine the other day and can hardly wait to put it through the paces. Over here in Southern California we have beaches, deserts, elevation and meadows all within a decent drive of eachother. Thank you for sharing

    That is an AMAZING tent!! You will have lots of good nights sleep in it. It will serve you well in the rain and stormy weather as well. I am excited for you to use it on your upcoming AT hike.

    Shaved Bear and Reassurance here.... we chose the triplex for our thru-hike, so it always good to know we are in good company! We are leaving Katahdin on June 2nd... I appreciated your reasoning regarding color choice. Such a big consideration that we'd have never thought of. Thanks for the video!

    used my Duplex on the PCT in 2016, really don't need the groundsheet at all, I never used one, its an awesome tent. worked perfect for me, love the space and super light weight !! 10 / 10 is my rating !

    Nice review. I own this one as well; one note; the poles supposed to be angled from the outside at the base in to the top or so I have watched on other videos. I have used mine only twice with the poles only as my trekking poles are the Black Diamond Carbon Z fixed at 110cm tall and have not tried to see if I got enough clearance; I am only 5'3, still I like to think of clearance in case I would have to squat inside for business as I had to do in Mount Whitney, in any case that was a really nice review. You will be happy; mine have been awesome. Zpacks rocks; no other way to describe them as you mentioned.

    I would really like to get this tent one day. Very nice!! I hear that you have to watch condensation with these single wall tents. Take half a sham wow with you.

      Yeah I have heard that also. But so far no problems.. If I find that being an issue I will make sure to update everyone.

    great freestanding pole setup i wonder what it will hold up in the wind

    • @MTAdventures406
      @MTAdventures406  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Solo Bikepacker the Freestanding poles would not do so well in the wind with out a couple Stakes to hold the tent down. Which on their web site they say in bad weather you should use a couple stakes to anchor it down to the ground. Hope that helps.. it's the best tent I have ever owned!!

    Would the freestanding poles with the stakes or the trekking poles with stakes be a better option to withstand wind and rain? thanks for the great vid!

    • @MTAdventures406
      @MTAdventures406  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drew Beecroft I would say trek poles and stakes would be better in bad weather..

    I picked one of these tents up for my upcoming PCT thru-hike. I've been impressed with it so far. I used the Zpacks Hexamid Solo Plus on my 2013 AT thru-hike. Didn't use it too much as I mainly used shelters along the way (slept in a tent only 14 nights). Good luck on your hike next year. Nice. That tent looks like it would endure at least an eight mile an hour wind.
