She was a phone customer service rep for a major airline when she started on The Jefferson's and while she was there. They had to pay her salary from the airline in order for her to finally quit her job.
I remember her cameo on the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, along with Sherman Helmsley and Isabelle Sanford. After all those years Florence and George were still trading sharp barbs.
I grew up on All in the Family and The Jeffersons. Only discovered Archie Bunkers place as an adult. Florence, Louise, and Edith were more than just strong women. They were awesome role models. Smart, strong, and full of heart!

I got to meet Marla at the Hollywood show this past Saturday. She was is one of the nicest people I met there

Yep... they never stopped. There's an episode of 227 that Sherman Hemsley guest starred in, and he and Marla picked up right where they left off.
