I never thought of the content pillars in this way, to consider them and how each one can make money. What an eye-opener and a great way for me to niche down even more and just have those few pillars to start with. As always, thank you! You're one of the best teachers on the net!

I found you by searching “content pillars” and I’m so glad because you explained it really well, I kept finding things like “teach, explain, inspire” as pillars and idk that didn’t seem quite right. I’m enjoying your other videos now but I have to mention, if it hadn’t been for the way you came up in search, i NEVER would have clicked on your channel because of the name. My content, life, and interests have nothing to do with mommy, twins, etc, and in fact I actively avoid mom related content… so it would never occur to me that your content would have anything to with what I was looking for. A couple times when looking at your view counts on your videos, which are so good btw!!, I’ve been mystified by why your views are so low compared to your subscriber count… and I have to wonder if your channel name is related to it. I don’t mean those observations to be offensive, I’m just letting you know my experience and sharing info. You’re super knowledgeable and great at explaining things and I love that you’re calm and mild mannered and not coming across as frantic and intense the way so many people do when trying to interest their audience lol. Alright now one more thing, I’m wondering if you’d be willing to do a video where you discuss tips for balancing the workload of managing two blogs, tips for doing so, how to use convert kit for two blogs (can you do that?) etc. Thanks and sorry for the novel lmao

This was really interesting. I’m still working on developing my pillars but I think I’m going to have 3 main categories.
Also, I had no idea until I started watching HGTV again how big of a deal drop zones are to people 😅 haha

Hi elna, your videos are always so helpful! I have a lifestyle blog that I started in october of 2022. It started as a food blog, then I realized i wanted to do a lifestyle blog. Im not sure if my blog "takes action" i write about some wellness topics and home topics, but i feel like my topics are everywhere. Its so hard to pick 3 pillars that are sort of related to eachother. Not sure if I should remove my food topics and rebrand to 3 content pillars.

Thanks so much! I appreciate your comment! As for your blogging ideas, food counts as a pillar topic within the lifestyle blog. You can pick topics for your ideal audience. If they are NEW moms, then postpartum topics will do well along with fast meals and meal prepping and recipes! I hope that helps!

Thank you very much Elna . God bless you. Even I want to create helpful as well as earning content. My audience is busy moms. My categories are moms ,kids ,blogging, education. And I am still not putting proper content. I am not able to plan properly for my blog. So I am searching for evergreen content plan. As I myself is a busy mom and I try to make time. But this year I have decided to make time and do the work for my blog and TH-cam channel(but on youtube I don't want to show my face so I am not getting time for it). At present I just want to do affiliate promotions and earn through it. I would like to see like this videos and how to use chatgpt prompts for writing content, etc. ) I am a solopreneur.

Yes, time to blog is a challenge but with ChatGPT and other AI tools you can create a plan more easily. As for your content pillars, they are not really cohesive...just education and kids. I would drop blogging and put something else that's popular for your audience like time management/productivity or meal planning/recipes. This might be better if you are blogging to moms with little kids. As for affiliate marketing, you can still do that with this type of blog. Just find popular topics on Pinterest and go from there.

I am working on a course for moms who want to pull their children out of the public school system. My question is: Do I only post under this category(homeschooling) for the time being to build my authority?
My other 2 categories or homemakeing and homesteading
    Thanks

I would create a few more homeschooling posts to prime your audience for sure!

What a great idea and something so many people are going to need help with! I’m a weirdo, I did public elementary school, homeschooled for 7&8 grade, then private highschool haha. Best of luck!
