The Rebel Heart Tour had good music media critics, same for the fans attendance. The delusional media critics were from tabloids like Daily Mail specially when Rocco joined is father in London & didn't came back to Madonna, so she had to start a justice battle to have her son, plus was, of course, more vunerable. In Mexico, she cried but the fans on the sold out arena send her lots of love screaming "Madonna" while they wave hand red ballons in a heart shape. Then came the drink bullshit on RB shows + Tears Of A Clown extra show in Australia, as if it was possible someone, for over an hour, sing & dance in high heels, played guitar, interact with the audience.
Sorry but a lot of fans didn't like that tour... I went to all her tours since Drowned world except for this one. First of all, the Rebel Heart album sucked .... with "Bitch Im Madonna" proving she desperately want to be liked by teenagers and ppl in their 20's, even if it means adapting to the current level of mediocrity. Then the tour was disappointing aesthetically. The Drowned world tour looks more modern and sophisticated than this one.... and it was 15 years ago???! The whole thing looked old-fashioned, especially the costumes. "Holiday" looked like a cheap cruise show, and the thing that made me happy I didn't have a ticket was that whole Clown stunt. Madonna held her head up high for 3 decades and she was my inspiration through many tough moments....so I didn't expect her to orchestrate a public meltdown using her private life, and I didn't expect her to give us a "Baby Jane" moment so soon, with a cheap clown show one would only find in some very cheap gay clubs in Las Vegas. Then the whole crying feminist speech...with Madonna, one of the most powerful person in show business, presenting herself as a poor victim, as "a part of a minority". No. Madonna was the epitome of active feminism, of the "be the best and get shit done" feminism.... she never talked about it, she just shined with success and strength.
Seems to me Madonna isn't the only person working out her issues in a public forum. There's a LOT more to RH the album then Bitch (but the fact that it was her most noticed single in a decade is more a sign of current tastes then anything about her) As for the tour to each their own but she was having the most fun and the most engaged with the audience that I've seen in a LONG time so if "fans" didn't enjoy themselves then maybe they're the problem. As for the Clown thing... it was a one off for the Aussies who got so PO'd at her for cancelling MDNA down under ....big deal
