Shaq, I can't relate to your coming up and the 'neighborhood' feeling that you have. I grew up in a wealthy town, and everyone resents each other here. Nobody is nice, nobody says hello. And I'm just going to put this out there, I'm white. The town next to mine is primarily black, and has been going through rough times of poverty and crime, and most people from my town steer clear of there. There's so much blatant racism, corruption within the police force, and in my states overall government, it all feels wrong. I worked at a gym in the town next to mine, where I was clearly the minority, yet I never felt that way. I was embraced, yeah called 'white boy' but that's because I was the only white boy. But they talked to me! We shared stories, and learned how although I might only live 10 miles away, our upbringings could not be more different. I made so many friends while working there, met so many kind people, people who are avidly avoided by people from my town just because of their race. It doesn't make sense to me. Where I'm from, they 'judge a book by its cover' and it's revolting. I was one of the younger employees at the gym, and some of my coworkers told me they couldn't find better paying jobs strictly because they were black. These are things that would never cross my mind unless I had seen/heard it firsthand. I can't understand how someone could hate someone else without even knowing them. I'll add that I'm also Jewish, which kinda helped me feel more comfortable, because I have been victim to antisemitism my entire life, and when I was being told stories that sounded similar to the hatred I received, it was like I could relate (unfortunately with something negative, but could relate). There should not be any room for racism or any other form of it. Everyone is born equal, and should be given equal opportunities. What goes on in the 'hood' of my state is all a direct cause of my states government, and these 'criminals' that my townspeople call them are some of the nicest and warmest people I have had the privilege of meeting. I guess what I'm getting at is that you've helped me become blind to racism, you make me laugh (sometimes way too hard XD) and smile with each of your videos. I love you Shaq, and hearing not only Polo G's stories, but yours as well, truly opens my eyes and hopefully others as well. This is an amazing album👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You can clearly tell Polo put his heart n soul into this EP. The instrumentals, pianos, guitars, all of it was incredible along with the beats. The lyrics were relatable to many & love that he wrote abt his life & not all abt $$$, guns, drugs, designer clothes, & women. They were sad, real, happy, abt love, heartbreak, life growing up in the hood poor, depression, grief, & addiction to name just a few. I really love that u did an album review Coach. Pls do more.
