Dear Hannah, I just wanted to thank you for recommending The Country of Pointed Firs. I began it yesterday and am stunned by its beauty and freshness. Can’t believe how enchanting it is. Should finish it by Wednesday since I’m hooked. Thanks so much. Cheers! ✌️💥🌹🍾🥂🌻
Ahhhhh Good Omens and Seedfolk… such good books that I smile just thinking about them. Thank you for sharing your gratitude. It helps me see the world in a better light. ❤
I enjoyed watching this so much. I think I may need to get into the lovely habit of having a book to read on New Year's Day. Thank you for tagging me to join in this collective jamboree of gratitude.
@@heathergregg9975 I’m so glad I have gotten to know you! I recommend 84 Charing Cross Road. Several years ago, Sarah at Hardcover Hearts and I discovered we both had the tradition-and we’ve been spreading it throughout the bookish world since then!
@@HannahsBooks I have read the book a while ago - it does have the necessary short number of pages - and endless book references to follow up on. I think Steve and she might have had good convos if they'd met - they had not only read widely, but knew EXACTLY which edition of a classic book they wanted. (Likewise, am glad ofgetting to know each other through Booktube.)
Hi Hannah listening to your response to the tag brings joy to me! I'm not quite sure how I am so fortunate to have found this group of amazing! Booktubers. When I first started watching booktube there was something missing so I went searching and I think I found Kim from middle of the book March first and then was able to find such a wonderful group That I find myself going back to time and time again. As a matter of fact, I think it was Kim who mentioned Pat's channel which is quite enjoyable. Thank you!
Yes indeed! I am so grateful to have found this warm, nerdy, thoughtful group of booktubers-many of whom are women and of relatively mature age, too! And I am so glad a community has developed between booktubers and regular commenters in the various comments fields. When are you going to start your own channel??
Pat is a treasure. I'm going to do this tag soon as well. The friendships I've made in Booktube have been a wonderful surprise! I'm excited about the "horizon."
Awesome book tag. You know? It's been a long time since I've read a book involving friendships. This is a reminder to read a book about friendship sooner than later.
Isn't Pat great? I love her channel. Just picked up a copy of Let's Take the Long Way Home. Thanks for the recommendation. I hope your vision issue is improving.
I just settled on reading The Uncommon Reader for either New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve Day. I’ve been reading a novella for NYD for a few years now, but last year I added in a novella as the last book of the year as well.
@@HannahsBooks My book club always read a newly published YA book as the first read in January, and it was rarely satisfying, if not downright bad and I hated the idea of starting the new year with a bad book (bad karma). So, I started reading a First Day Novella book, drawn from books that I know are excellent and having a win win situation. Last year I added a Last Day Novella as a good and satisfying experience to ending the year. I put aside anything I haven’t finished and stop myself from rushing to get it in, and read a book in one day. Of course part of this is that both days are usually free and open as I long ago gave up going out to celebrate, or at most just have brunch with friends on NYD, so plenty of time for a novella - or two as the case maybe. Last year I read Eastbound towards the end of December, not on NYE, but it would make an excellent book for that slot. It was one of NYT top ten books. Of course Claire Keegan’s Small Things Like These & Foster fit this perfectly.
@@HannahsBooks I just now double checked about the movie release as there hadn’t been a date, and it looks like it will come out on November 8 in the US! I’m shocked that there hasn’t been speculation for Cillian Murphy getting an Oscar nomination for it setting up for him to maybe win 2 years in a row???
Wonderful video. I always come away with new titles to me from your videos. I too love The Uncommon Reader and have suggested it to many people. A book I always come back to and have read, many, many times is: 84 Charing Cross Road. Hannah, i am curious what is the other book you read on New Year's day?
Good one, Hannah 🎉 Thank you for being my friend 🤗 You & Pat are both equally great, in my book 📙 ☺ 📚
What a wonderful compliment! Having you as a friend has definitely been a gift of booktube!
@@HannahsBooks Thanks, Hannah 🤗
My dearest Hannah, thank you for tagging me. I really enjoy Pat's channel as well and will definitely be participating this weekend. ❣🔖📚
My pleasure! It is a great tag.
Great video! Can't wait for your Hanukkah readings and recommendations.
I am still thinking! I have two possible authors in mind-both 20th century American women writers, but very different from each other…
Thank you, dear Hannah, for this most beautiful response to my tag. I am so grateful for you. 🥰

I am SO pleased you enjoyed Pointed First! I love her prose-but I recognize that her quiet plotlines might not appeal to everyone…
Lovely video! I really appreciate how positive this tag is. Of course, Booktube is generally a positive place, so that isn't surprising!
Isn’t it a lovely tag?! Pat is definitely something special.

Ooh-I think are the first person I know that has read Seedfolk before my family’s recommendation!

The Uncommon Reader is a wonderful book. I read it for the first time this year. Now I know who likely recommended it. Thanks Hannah!
I’m always so glad to hear that other people love it too!
