    I did this today for the first time. I was amazed that it really did feel easier! Have been wearing altra running shoes, luna and bedrock sandals for a couple years now and love them. Xero shoes on the way this week! Thanks for the book!

      So many simple but potent skills and drills in the book. Thanks for the great comment and keep running strong!

    Should you do the rock lobster intervals on the balls of your feet only (i.e. heel doesn't touch the ground) or should you land on the balls first and then your heels land on the floor?

      follow the protocol in the book and you will do just fine.

    How do I enter the competition?

    Just finished reading it and what a great book with great advice. I have two questions: The vegan pemmican recipe lists one egg as an ingredient? Not Vegan then....? Second, I am 61 years old and have difficulty transitioning to the 180 count. Does age limit cadence levels?

    • @BornToRunCoach
      @BornToRunCoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not say cadence is a product of age, just a product of neuromuscular capabilities that is trainable. So dont put a timeline on it, just hone your craft thru time and get better and better. And good catch on the eggs, a good revision for edition 2.

    Hi Eric! Thanks to you I started my transition a year ago and will never go back. But I'm not a professional runner. So what about top-level competition running? I don't think Kilian Jornet, Jim Walmsley or Eliud Kipchoge would be faster if they cut back and make a transition. Can you comment, please?

      my pro runners pick and chose their spots with super shoes and focus on training the feet and using natural shoes as a strength tool. Its NOT an all or nothing approach. But it would also be foolish to think 30mm stack height super shoes do not have a detrimental effect on biomechanics, and therefore muscle usage and dysfunction. And we still are not clear on if the super shoes have any performance benefits at slower non-elite speeds.
      But again, the point is, this is not an all or nothing approach, but it is important to know that the further your foot gets away from the ground, the more dysfunction and lack of muscle stabilization occurs.

      @BornToRunCoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also keep in mind that Kilian ran in a very minimal 4mm drop shoe for most of is career.

    Eric, what kind of break do you recommend for the interval training. I can maybe do 30sec's of Rock Lobster without slowing down.
    How does 3 x 30 sec's with a 2 min break sound to start with?
    Then is it better the increase the time up by 10 seconds after a couple of weeks, or add more intervals up to 5 and then increase the time after that?

    • @BornToRunCoach
      @BornToRunCoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would take as long as you need to recovery, this is important so you are doing them well and not struggling.
