Stunning, just stunning. This evening Barrie's webpage tells me that F&WHR traffic receipts are up by 20%. This warms the cockles and bodes well for the future. Thanks for putting this footage on TH-cam!! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
I go all soppy when I see these beautiful scenes and remember laying track etc. "in the old days" - i.e. six or seven years ago. I have not been up there volunteering since April, which makes my suffering even worse. Many thanks - but tears are falling on my keyboard.
Well, I saw Bontnewydd and remembered how we worked there in the cold with good old Maurice, who is no longer with us. Then I saw Salem and remembered how we adjusted the "transitions to super-elevations" in 2003. And Waunfawr was the destination of my very first WHR ride in 2000. So, not exactly tears but much nostalgia. Well done, Tom.
Outstanding video. Thank you so much for sharing. I grew up in South Africa and saw these engines in action. They bring back memories for me. I recently bought a model in 7mm scale and will build it to run on my layout. Regards, Keith

Excellent video guys, I enjoyed this very much. Thanks!
Enjoyable video, thanks for posting.
The shot at 7:20, good choice of location, one of the best bits of the trip, Dinas to tryfan Junction a section rarely filmed or photographed too.
...of joy, I hope, John! Yes, we must get some volunteering in this Autumn... Dave
Thanks John!
Hi Steve, thanks for your comment. You always seem to be the first to see our videos! Cheers, Dave

WOW, I just love their Garratts!
Just love that S.A.R.whistle.
Ah! That explains it... These HD films take so long to upload I usually leave them to run overnight...
