  • Enjoy this aerial journey down Gayle Beck from its source near Dodd Fell Hill, and snaking down all the way through the hamlet of Gayle that gives the beck its name, and on to the Wensleydale Creamery, home of the world famous cheese.
Gayle was originally a tiny mining settlement, but grew significantly as a result of a mill that was built on the beck.

Thanks, I love dramatic hills and streams. Probably why I like your neck of the woods so much - stunning once you get into the Highlands!

Loved it, from a small trickle winding its way down the fells on its long journey to become the river running through to the village. Quite low at times and more than a few birds to contend with, nerves like stell, lol.
But never got to see Wallace or Gromit.

I quite like trying to follow streams down through the valleys. Now I have an Avata 2 as well, that's crying out for that sort of flight, though the footage is hardly cinematic, so probably wouldn't publish it.
I'm sure Wallace is banned from the Wensleydale cheese factory at the end of this video, LOL!

Great flight. The hills and mountain rivers remind me of the hills of Donegal with lots of stone walls that were made to clear the land. ☘☘☘

I guess all these hill farmed moorlands all look quite similar, with fabulous views across the valleys onto the next range of hills :)

That was a cool flight along the small river, kind of trippy :)

Gayle is lovely, and Hawes has enough to save longer trips out... ...and then there is the cheese factory!

Gayle Beck was in my class at school. But, I think it's not the same one. Plus, another coincidence, I think I recognise those two Oystercatchers - they hound me everywhere.

LOL, I'm sure it's a different Gayle Beck :). Birds seem to be the bane of my life at the moment, if its not the drones, its bombing practice on the cars!

@@robodrone5662 I couldnt find a single location where I could still see the aircraft, due to the winding nature of the stream and the trees, and a desire to stay reasonably low when not over the houses :)

The music was from TH-cam's Audio Library, so mostly inoffensive to most, apologies it wasn't to your taste. Glad you enjoyed the video :)

What a depressing sight, the ground grazed within an inch of becoming a real desert. It needs a bunch of imitation beaver dams, the removal of the sheep, and the planting of willows and other riparian flora, to aid restoring the natural habitat. Then bring in the beavers. to complete the job!

It is more colourful later (like now!) in the year, this was filmed in March, which is always depressingly winter-esque without the snow. The heathers start to come out around now, making it more interesting, though I find the landscape ever interesting.
