  • rail fanning in Springfield mass Amtrak station. this video is the operations of the station at his closing hours as the last set of trains leave and the turn around the regional trains that are coming in for the night.

    Im taking the early train next week at 445 am. Do you know what platform that will be at?

      They only use the one platform in this video for all springfield shuttles and regional trains

    Usually the trians are 2 or 3 cars. You caught some long ones.

      These were the regionals coming in from the south. One started in Norfolk Va and the other started in Roanoke Va. Their also the first trains to leave out at the crack of dawn too.

      @@caprailroad The Lakeshore Limited WB from Boston passes through there too. A fairly long one does back in every night, before midnight, from the south.

      @413TomaccoRoad the boston section of the LSL is hard for me to catch cause like you said. Either later at night or middle of the day if going west. Now i just catch that section of the LSL on virtual railfan camera.

      if you’re talking about 140, 140 is an NER coming from DC, not Roanoke or Norfolk, 130 is also another example of this run

      Its a Y shape set of switches to turn a train around
